29. Bane's Trump Card.

All the Audience didn't bother expecting much from these following duel, as they thought it to follow the same result as the previous duels.

But there was one man in the Audience who was watching the entire scenario while making sure he doesn't miss even a moment of the spar, that's about to take place in front of him.

He has been practicing with Bane for month's now , and he could tell from his eyes, he is far from giving up on this match, on the contrary his eyes was blazing with fighting spirit.

"Hooh! I guess he does have a trump card up under his sleeve." Hemdall murmured while looking at the fighting spirit Bane was emitting.

The match soon began and Bane casted a 'physical enhancement' spell and dashed straight towards Greta with a huge great sword on his hand engulfed in lightning.

Greta made a simple sword strike to dodge the upcoming attack, as soon as the two swords clashed, Bane quickly flew back from the momentum and fell right to ground.

" Or Maybe he just doesn't know his place " Hemdall murmured watching the scene in front of him.

Bane quickly got up on his feet as he saw Greta dashing towards him with a long sword, preparing to knock him put of the arena.

Bane slightly chuckled before murmuring " I guess I have no choice but to use that "

Saying so, Bane quickly took a sword stance channelling all his internal energy in his body and murmuring as if he was performing some wierd chant, and Screamed out loud, letting the whole crowd hear him.

"BESERK"

Just as those words left his mouth the entire arena was filled with lightning, as Bane looked like a reincarnation of thunder god himself , as small sparks of lightnings were dancing through his body.

Greta who was ready to dash forward and knock her opponent out of the Arena, stopped as she sensed an immense amount danger from the bizarre scene in front of him.

Bane gripped his great sword and dashed straight forward towards Greta , performing a Vertical slash with all his might.

Greta managed to dodge by hair's breath, as she clenched her teeth and took a defensive stance, to block the incoming attack coming towards him.

Bane gripped his great sword and continued with his huge barrage of sword strikes filled with his intense amount of internal energy.

Greta wanted to change her stance and perform her Azure Dragon Swordsmanship to counter his attack. But Bane was giving her no opening whatsoever with his continuous barrage of attacks.

To be honest she might have been able to take him head on if she used her academy's Swordsmanship , but she thought there was no need in these stages of the Competition.

These duel has given her a very important lesson in her life, to not to underestimate anyone.

"Just what kind of Demonic Arts is this." Greta growled as her hands started to grow numb, and she might even drop her sword at any given second.

Bane kept on with his barrage, without giving any kind of opening whatsoever, as each of his sword strike left a huge thundering noise all over the arena.

Greta was pushed right at the edge of the arena, as her beautiful blonde hair was completely messed up and her eyes turned bloody red, as she closed her eyes prepared to be knocked out of the arena at any given moment.

Just as Bane gripped his great sword and prepared to perform a sword strike to knock his opponent out of the arena.

The lightning which was covered all over his body and his great sword disappitated. and he dropped his sword, as he lost all his strength from his body and was fell unconscious right in the Arena.

There was a sudden silence all over the arena, followed by loud applause and cheers.

"Winner Greta Grese" The Referee announced with an amused look on their face.

Greta, who saw all these scene unfold in front of her own eyes sighed , as a huge sense of relief washed all over face.

She quickly grasped her sword and dashed out of the Arena. She wants to stay away from this monster, as far as possible.

The cheers was filled among the audience, but the recipient of these cheers was knocked unconscious.

To be honest, Everyone knew the reason why the match was such a close one was because Greta was caught of guard and was unable to perform her Swordsmanship, but that takes nothing away from this young man who almost won against her. and that's how Swordsmanship works , one mistake and game over. and who doesn't love a good underdog.

And it gave a huge wakeup call for rest of the participants who were dallying around without much worry just because they were ranked higher.

"Well now that explains , how he managed to pass the first round " Hemdall continued " Well it might have a severe brunt on his body too, as such terrifying power won't come without any cost."

"He is quite famous now isn't he " Samuel murmured as he saw constant cheers pouring towards Bane, while he was taken out in a stretcher, while lying unconscious.

"Well let's take our leave, there's no reason for us to stay here now is there." Hemdall said and got up from his seat.

Samuel gave a nod and followed him from behind.

Bane was unconscious for almost 2 days before he woke up. and the first thing he asked, from the organisation was to meet with Hemdall and Samuel.

"What the hell was that ? , How did you do that ? ,Can you show it to me again ?" Samuel pounced on Bane with barrage of questions, without even bothering about the current state he is in.

"Can't you see the current state I am in, would it kill you to ask me about my well being ? " Bane growled while lying helplessly on the bed.

"You'll be fine, now tell me what was that " Samuel refuted.

Bane gave a deep sigh before replying "It's something I developed during my academic days." as Bane gave a deep thought before continuing "It forcefully generates fiction inside the mana heart, boasting the amount of internal energy by multiple times , as well as simultaneously increasing physical enhancement of the body to its limit.

"But it has severe drawbacks, as it can only last for atmost 10-15 minutes, and then you'd be completely helpless for almost a week."

Hemdall pondered for a while before replying

"The drawbacks are indeed severe, but it's an excellent last resort method"

" I agree " A gentle old voice came from behind.

Samuel, Hemdall and Bane looked at the direction where the voice came from with a puzzling look on their face.

It was a middle aged man with blonde hairs and blue eyes, his appearance was neat and even a huge scar around his cheeks couldn't hide his unblemished handsome face.

"Ah !, How rude of me. Let me introduce myself. I am Marquis Lothar Mathew, I am an envoy send by the Chronos Empire. " Marquis Mathew replied with a gentle smile on his face.
