Chapter 28: Matthew vs. Six's Power Contest

Matthew did not anticipate being faced with such a sight when he woke up. Without any room for thought, he immediately regarded the other party as an enemy.

In Matthew's dictionary, he never showed mercy to his enemies; he always used the strength of a fighting lion to catch a rabbit. This was the law of survival that he had learned from fighting those mutated creatures on the Ruined Earth Star Dunes, and it had been deeply seared into his bone marrow.

Matthew took action without hesitation. His left hand quickly rested on the other party's outstretched wrist like lightning, and he pulled the other party towards him with a forceful belt. At the same time, the dagger he held tightly in his right hand slashed at the opponent's throat smoothly. All of this happened so fast that it was dizzying.

Number Six was shocked by Matthew's sudden attack, and he felt as if his wrist was caught in an iron vice and he couldn't move. Before he could react, his eyes blurred, and a considerable impact came from his throat. He staggered back, his heart filled with panic.

Number Six stroked the armor at his throat, where a deep scar was left behind. Without the protection of this armor, he was afraid that his head would have rolled on the ground like a melon that had just hit the ground. He stared at Matthew in horror, his heart filled with doubt and incomprehension. Who in the world was this person? How could he be so assertive?

Matthew wasn't satisfied as he looked at the dagger in his hand; the quality of this weapon plucked from the trash was so poor that it rolled its edge at a critical moment. He casually threw the dagger away and prepared to launch his next round of attack.

The armor on the Sixth was a set of micro mechs, combat equipment specially equipped for fighters. Although it didn't have a power system and relied entirely on the controller's strength to move around, its armor was made of unique materials that were both lightweight and strong and wouldn't have too much of an impact on a fighter's speed. To compensate for this, the mech's legs are also equipped with elastic devices to enhance the ability to jump and sprint.

The biggest highlight of this miniature mech was its fighting assistance system. Unlike regular mechs, it possessed excellent vision-capturing components and an almost state-of-the-art micro-optical brain. These devices captured and analyzed every enemy movement, providing information to the fighters for reference. Trained fighters can exert strength several times greater than their own when controlling this mech.

Developing this kind of mech was complicated, and only a few large groups were conducting relevant research, but so far, there haven't been any reports of successful development. However, Matthew unexpectedly encountered such an advanced set of micro-mechs here. This undoubtedly increased the complexity and uncertainty of this battle.

Matthew's eyes glittered with excitement! However, this did not let him relax in the slightest. Despite his passionate love for Mecha, he would never take his life lightly because of it. He knew deep down that death, the enemy that had been against him since birth, was something he would never bow to.

To his horror, Six realized that the information on the holographic screen before him was pouring down like a waterfall at a dizzying speed. He tried to capture the information but found himself unable to see it. Number Six was also a decisive man, and he immediately decided to put aside this information and prepare to meet the battle with total concentration.

However, the gap in strength made Number Six feel despair. Matthew's movements were as fast as lightning; he could not catch them at all, and even if he occasionally caught a trace, it was too late to react, and he could only rely on his intuition and experience to barely fend them off.

Under Matthew's stormy attacks, Number Six struggled to hold on and deeply felt the weight of his opponent's fists. Matthew's hands were slender and powerful, and each punch weighed as much as a thousand pounds as if they were transformed into two giant hammers, waving them in front of Number Six's eyes.

The muffled sounds of fists and armor clashing were as dense as rain hitting a banana. The more Matthew fought, the more courageous he became, and he felt that his opponent was surprisingly skillful despite his lack of strength and slow speed. Such a person who was at a disadvantage in terms of strength and speed could harden himself for so long that it was indeed out of his expectation.

This battle was a rare experience for Matthew. On the Ruined Earth Star Hill, he had faced either weak creatures that he couldn't raise interest in or mutated behemoths that were terrifying to the extreme. And opponents like Number Six, who had a certain amount of strength but not enough to pose a fatal threat to him, were the perfect targets for him to hone his skills.

Matthew was secretly grateful in his heart that he could meet such an opponent. It was his first time encountering such an evenly-matched battle in a real-life PK. In the past, on the Ruined Dune, he had either faced weak creatures, such as the Hundred Devouring Rats, that he couldn't raise interest in, or terrifying existences, such as the Iron Python Lizard, that he didn't dare to mess with.

As for strong people like the Dawnbreaker, Matthew didn't even dare to think about it. After witnessing the Dawnbreaker efficiently solve the Iron Python Lizard, he reinforced this thought. After all, the Dawnbreaker was not a human, and its strength was already beyond his imagination. Thus, being able to meet an opponent like Six was indeed a rare opportunity for him.

The opponent's skill in front of Matthew was impressive, but what surprised him more was the hard shell of the other party. If it were ordinary metal, under his onslaught, I'm afraid it would have already shattered and scattered.

Matthew knew in his heart that since he had undergone the Dawnbreaker's physical training, his strength was no longer comparable to what it used to be. Thinking back to a specific lousy steel ball training, he angrily struck the steel plate on the pad steel ball and even shook the steel plate into seven or eight pieces. This power can be seen.

However, at this moment, the armor his opponent was clad in was still tough and unbroken, even though he had dented it in several places. This made Matthew wonder if his power had yet to be improved.

Number Six felt an unprecedented fear. He detected the close-fitting armor dented inward under Matthew's blows, which couldn't help but chill him to the bone, and he began to doubt Matthew's human identity.

Suddenly, Six leaped backward and shouted, "Stop!" But it was as if Matthew had not heard his voice as he tightly grabbed Six's hand and pulled it violently, pulling Six to an unsteady position. Immediately afterward, Matthew's knee ruthlessly slammed head-on into Number Six's abdomen.

With a muffled thud, Number Six went limp like a mud sculpture with its sinews removed. Only then did Matthew nod in satisfaction; it wasn't that he hadn't heard Number Six's cries. In this unfamiliar environment, keeping the situation under his control was the only way to make him feel safe.

Matthew turned to the dazed teenager to the side. The teenager's black eyes were filled with awe and fear as he watched Matthew approach.

Matthew unhooked the fiber rope around his waist, and that's when he realized he was on solid ground and no longer floating in the air. He carefully took the air nozzle of the lifebox out of his mouth and tried to breathe, and it was unobstructed. Matthew couldn't help but be overjoyed in his heart.

Six's voice came behind him, "Please don't hurt him! We surrender!" Number Six covered his abdomen, and he was struggling to get up.

Matthew turned around and looked at this tenacious opponent. Surrender? This was the first time he had encountered such a situation. On the garbage planet, those mutated creatures never knew what surrender was; they always fought fearlessly until the last moment.

But why did this person want to surrender? Matthew was a little puzzled. Doesn't surrendering mean being slaughtered? Wasn't that still a dead end? He had never seen a mutated creature letting its prey live when it encountered it because it gave up resistance.

Yet Number Six continued to say with difficulty, "Yes, we surrender, but please don't hurt him!" His gaze revealed a deep concern for the teenager. Matthew couldn't help but look at the timid teenager once again ...
