2 Player to Warrior

"Fire!" A large rune appeared and from it a large fireball launched towards the ogres. They roared in pain and went on the offensive, charging at the group of 2 sword users, 3 archers and a mage.

"Alex, use your ability!" Shouted one of the sword users to the other while jumping out of the path of the charging beast.

"James, dinner will be ready in a minute, pause your game and set the table!" yelled James' mum.

"Ok! Sorry guys, got to go, we'll continue the quest later." James opened the game's menu and clicked 'Log-off'.

James was the average 19 year old, mature enough to be able to live on his own but not enough to be trusted alone. He had 8 level 100 sword fighters under his belt and 7 years of karate training (sword fighting being his strong suit). He had short blonde hair and light blue eyes and wore tore jeans and a plain blue shirt underneath a orange hoodie that had it's sleeves cut off because they were too short.

He walked down stairs into a small living room that had no furniture in it and was mostly used as junction for the house. Turning right he entered the kitchen in which his mother was cooking spaghetti and meatballs (the usual for a Tuesday night).

"Took you long enough, there should be some clean knifes and forks in the drainer." said his mother.

After finishing the meal, they sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV to see the daily news. The presenter began:

"A meteorite has reportedly changed direction and will pass close to earth tonight. It is said to have had it's course altered after getting caught in another planets gravity. In other news..." The TV suddenly went blank and the lights went out as well.

"I'll go onto the roof and see if I can see what's going on" said James getting a pair of gloves and a head torch.

"Be careful James, the roof might be slippery."

Once outside, James extended the ladder and ascended to the roof. Once or twice he slipped but made it up in one piece. The roof was a place where James often went to think or to draw pictures of the skyline. He reached the electrical junction box and checked everything but he couldn't figure out why the power had suddenly decided to stop. It wasn't until he looked out across the town that he realised everyone's power had gone out.

Suddenly, there was a red flash in the sky that was quickly followed by a deafening bang. Looking up, James saw a large fire ball streaking through the sky, it was the meteorite. It continued to burn up across the horizon before exploding without warning. Many small fragments went in all different directions, one of which seemed to be heading James' direction, and fast. James made a break for the ladder, sliding down it and running into the middle of the garden. He could no longer see the explosion and thought it would be best to see if his mother was alright. He turned around only to be greeted by a large force to his chest that threw him across the garden and knocked him to the floor. His sight faded slowly has he blacked out.
