7 Good Luck (2)

Constellations, they were mysterious beings that couldn't be described with common sense. It could be stated that constellations are a race of beings possessing immense power. They are generally individuals whose stories have been told on Earth for aeons, mainly mythological figures like Eden's angels or the Greek gods, various religions and myths within the Tower.

The overall status of becoming a constellation is the ultimate goal of the many players within the Tower of Trials after knowing one of the benefits of climbing the tower.

Even before his rebirth, the highest floor that the player was able to reach was the 88th floor. No one has ever been able to climb higher than that floor, even Jin— the strongest and the number one player at that time.

However, it was known to the players that the constellations settled in 91st to the 95th floors of the tower which were an unknown territory that many players targeted to no avail.

Although the floors above the 88th remained a mystery, there were clues to guess what was on those floors. One of these clues was the 91st to the 95th floors whose constellations that were divided by different societies resided.

'A constellation is interested in me? Isn't it a bit too early?'

Cyruz momentarily lost his focus and became distracted by the system message. Because of that, a goblin almost managed to slice his neck.

Miss! Miss! Miss!

「 Your defense has failed and an abnormality has occurred in your blood vessels and nerves. 」

「 Your blood flow isn't smooth. Health recovery from healing potions will be blocked for 10 seconds. 」

「 You won't be able to move properly for 0.3 seconds. 」

「 Slash tolerance of the cells has increased. 」

「 Paralyze tolerance has been added to the cells. 」

「 Your health has slightly recovered. 」

Thanks to his luck, most of the goblins' attacks missed him but because one out of fifty attacks managed to slice his neck, Cyruz survival instinct woke him up. It was an instinct that came from his experience.

But still, the goblins are surprised when their attacks keeps missing Cyruz.

Because of the bleeding wound in his neck, his perfect momentum of parrying, blocking and defending was disrupted. Cyruz subconsciously touched his bleeding neck.

"...Cyruz, are you okay?!"

Cyruz heard Jin's yell of worry with a complicated gaze.

"Yeah. I almost died but I'm still fine."

Cyruz replied but he immediately grabbed the neck of the goblin, summoned all of his strength in anger as he killed it by breaking its neck. Thanks to his 15 points in strength, he easily did it and immediately threw the corpse away to the barricade of the goblins' dead bodies.

Although he was slashed in the neck by the goblin's crude weapon, it wasn't a fatal wound but it wasn't a minor wound either. He was just fine because he was slowly recovering in each second that passes.

Hearing him, both Jin and Raven breathed out of relief. Their heart almost stopped beating when they saw the blood flowing out in his neck.

'I was careless.'

Cyruz grimly thought while feeling the red blood. He became irritated for letting his guard down when he was surrounded by almost thousand of goblins.

If not for his Hyper Cell that made him tougher and resistant to incoming damages, he might have already died. Thanks to this incident, Cyruz was thankful that he obtained the Heavenly Martial Body that made his body, physically stronger and more durable.

「 The constellation, 'Great Sage Heavens Equal' is impressed in your battle sense. 」

「 5 gold coin have been sponsored. 」

Just 5 gold? Although it might seem too few, if gold were to be converted into points, it was equivalent to 500 points so it didn't make Cyruz to raise his brows in dissatisfaction.

Taking a step back and avoiding the rusted swords and wooden spears, Cyruz recalls what he knows while his body continuously moved. He was just taken aback earlier but that won't be happening again.

'Although it's quite early for a constellation to pay attention to me... To think that it would be 'Great Sage Heavens Equal'.'

This was the reason why he made an error earlier. It was because he doubted his eyes several times but now, it was unmistakably, the 'Great Sage Heavens Equal'.

The constellations didn't easily reveal their true name but for Cyruz who has 10 years of experience in the tower, he knew the true identity of this constellation.

The protagonist that was held captive in the journey from east to west. Originally a monkey born from stone that eventually evolved into a Yokai and then into one of the mightiest constellations after gaining skills and enlightenment.

The master of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits. The Monkey King with the 'golden haze, fiery eyes', Sun Wukong.

He was someone that can cause chaos and trouble for other Gods, Demons and other constellations as he traveled and went wherever he pleased. He has the wondrous power that could sweep through hundreds of constellations with his divine artifact.

'Don't be too elated.'

Cyruz shook his head to free himself from excitement and being distracted. Although having one of the best constellations to pay attention to him while he was still on Floor 3, he still have less than a thousand of goblins to face.

Just then, Cyruz condensed his mana to the cells in his legs. Now that he cleared his mind, he repeated what he did on Floor 1 but this time, the cells were stimulated by mana making them more active than usual.

「 Your agility and evasion rate will increase significantly for 30 seconds. 」

With his increase in speed, Cyruz ran in towards the horde where most of the goblins are located to seize and create the opportunity for Jin and Raven.

「 Lesser fatigue recovery of the cells has increased. 」

「 Stamina recovery speed has risen. 」

Although he was physically tired, he was still mentally fine. He has already experienced fighting for more than 5 days straight before so fighting for a couple of minutes more is still bearable for him despite his currently low stamina. He swiftly slashed his blade at a goblin's neck and sliced through.

"Sheeeeeeeeik!"

When Cyruz sliced open the goblin's throat, the goblins around, let out an anger-filled roar.

Miss! Miss! Miss!

Cyruz was enveloped with a strange phenomenon. Majority of the goblins' attack couldn't hit him. Cyruz simply smiled about it. This was the effect of increasing his luck. It increases the likelihood of him, successfully evading the barrage of outraged attacks.

'Insane dodge rate, overpowered critical damages.'

While some attacks can reach him, his experience that was accumulated before his regression allows him to redirect the attacks, making some attacks that wounds him to be bearable enough for him to heal the injuries.

「 Lesser regeneration of the cells has increased. 」

「 Health recovery speed has risen. 」

Fighting against thousands of goblins? War of attrition? His Hyper Cell that grows the longer and the harder he fights, allows Cyruz to remain standing despite being greatly outnumbered.

The trials of each floor require different methods. What's good for weak willed players is that, the trials don't have a limit to how many players can try. If they ever felt threatened, they can go back to the waiting room as it was considered as a strategic retreat.

But if players leave before they succeed, they have to start all over again. This was the most important thing. The players who passed on their first try has abilities that couldn't be compared to those that passed after many attempts.

High risk, high return.

"This game is really insane!"

Jin said with annoyance and frustration as he killed another goblin. He just yelled as he was already in the verge of collapse, almost no remaining stamina to move. He was just able to fight for long because of his determination not to fall in the ground or else, he might never wake up if he ever collapses.

"Do you really think that this is a game?"

Raven asked after backstabbing a goblin that Cyruz kicked. A player can check their abilities with stats. There were many similarities to the games in the modern world. The only difference is, this is reality and they can really die.

Unlike a game that is for fun and to relieve stress from real life, this kind of death game is incredibly dangerous.

"Probably."

Jin replied with bitterness. Understanding how he feels, Raven solemnly nodded but he was fast enough that a normal human could see easily.

Since he was one of the excellent players out there and received various rewards that increases his stats, mainly agility, his speed and reflexive ability is already superhuman.

'Huh?'

As Raven wields his dagger, he widened his eyes in sudden realization.

'My body moves without me even knowing.'

He wonders as he cuts the throat of a goblin. He was very tired already and wanted to pass out but his body reacts much faster than his mind. But somehow, he is getting used to it.

Thanks to the support of Cyruz that tried to lessen their burden and the pressure from the goblins, Jin and Raven who can't be seen by the goblins can focus on slaughtering the goblins.

However, after 10 minutes, both Jin and Raven look lifeless in their eyes. The accumulated fatigue gradually affected their thinking abilities.

'I wanna... sleep.'

'...I can't... continue... anymore.'

Although their body were moving continuously after adapting for non stop onslaught of the goblins, they were in a verge of collapse. Drained enough to lose their awareness in their surroundings.

Fortunately for them, the heavy breathing Cyruz forcibly dragged his barely moving body while barely gripping to the hilt of his sword.

「 Congratulations. Lesser regeneration and lesser fatigue recovery of the cells has increased. 」

「 Greater regeneration and greater stamina regeneration has been added to the cells. 」

With the cells in his body becoming stronger, healing and his fatigue was replenished in a faster pace. A couple of messages popped up, but Cyruz no longer has any idea what they says.

His stamina is incredibly lower than he was used to. He couldn't think of anything besides staying conscious but he did know one thing for sure.

"It's over!"

"Sh–"

A goblin in front of him let out its final cry as Cyruz moved his sword and split it's head in half alongside with his sword, scattering into broken pieces.

「 The durability of the Iron Sword of a Novice Blacksmith (Normal) has been completely lost and is permanently destroyed. 」

Although the sword in his hand is now breaking after being over used for blocking and defending, there's no sadness in his eyes. Instead, there's a joy and relief.

There is usually two types of successful people. One type is the naturally talented. The other is, those born from hardwork.

This phrase is always in his mind. Thanks to this, Cyruz was able to succeed in climbing the very dangerous and challenging tower.

「 Congratulations. You have overcome the Tower of Trials floor 3. 」

「 You will be ranked according to your achievement. 」

「 Your contribution is the highest. You are ranked first. 」

「 You have gained 1000 points. 」

「 All major stats have been increased by 1 point. 」
