Even though this one is my favorite so far >~>) (Also I'm trying my best to find grammatical errors before posting new content, working in other novels to expand my insanity and doing all of this on a phone so please be patient. And if I start dishing out novels at a faster pace [hopefully in a few weeks{20th-28th Aug, 2021}] it's because I came back from my military exercise >~>)

Cute and deadly

After entering the mansion that was the adventurers guild's headquarters, Seraph looked around in delight at the amount of people who were in it.

'The difference of humanoids is astounding. Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, Pantherians, Wolfkin, familiars and some lizard fellows... I don't really have a name for those peeps yet but I will soon...' She'd pounce from one side of Hendriks shoulder to the other to get a better view on all the occupants until they reached the reception desk.

"Hello there Father Hendrik, looking for another job? How did the last one go.. and who's that adorable animal on your shoulder?" The receptionist was staring at the little fluff ball with two eyes and two tails trying to figure out what it was.

"It's a familiar I was able to tame at the last mission, there was nothing there but Seraph here was more than enough for the journey I made." Hendrik would pat on the fluff ball, but no retaliation happened.

'Father? Are you a holy peep or just had a few releases back in your day?' Seeing Hendrik annoyed she plops herself on top of his head in triump only to fly into the air thanks to air magic.

"You could be a little more considerate of your words, even though you're young the way you place them is slanderous at best." Hendrik was indeed annoyed but after seeing the cute purple eyes beg forgiveness did he stop using magic and place her back on his shoulder.

'Sorry, I'm uuh... not used to human customs, yes... I'll try to be more considerate... only to you for the moment though.' She'd wrap her tails around his neck giving him a fluffy neck pillow.

"Sorry about that miss, Seraph here still is young to certain customs about our society. Anyways I plan on getting her registered into the adventurers guild as my familiar." He pets the tail against his neck.

"No problem, just come with me and we'll see what kind of power we got on hand." The receptionist would escort the two down a decently long hallway until they reached a silver door, once inside the room had a checkered floor of black and white tiles, and two orbs on opposite ends roughly six feet apart and magical light fixtures on the walls.

'Let me guess, I attempt to pour mana into one orb and it'll trickle out towards the other orb and in the middle show some color which is my mana flow level right?' Seraph was looking at the orbs analyzing each scenario that could happen.

"Even so young you know a great many things, yes just sit on one of the orbs and just focus on transferring mana from yourself to the orb you sit on then to the other orb." At that comment he'd feel a paw on his forehead.

'Easier said than done, new to magical things, remember?' She'd bap him

"Alright alright, just focus on a light inside your body, like a fire and release it through one of your arms into the orb, that orb will then displace it towards the other orb." He'd place Seraph down on the orb and back away to give her space.

'Alright, a fire in my body... shouldn't be too bad.' Seraph closes her eyes and begins to try manipulating shadows in her mind to look like a fire, after a while she starts seeing a purple gaze staring at her amongst the shadows. She waves at it and points towards an exit through her hand where the purple essence starts to flow out of her right paw into the orb.

To Hendrik and the receptionist perspective, when she does this the well lit room thanks to magic begins to fluctuate to the point it disperses only leaving the glow of the orbs in place for light, for Seraph her orb glows a bright purple with black cracks forming and vanishing in a blink of an eye in a multitude of spots over the surface of the orb, a red mana flow reaches towards the other orb, only to have it get consumed by black flames chasing behind it corrupting the other orb with another purple aura.

"This isn't right... what kind of familiarity did you acquire..." At the end of her sentence she knew exactly what kind of familiar the father had acquired, the answer was blatantly staring back at her from the two orbs in the room, each one with black slit irises down the middle staring into her soul giving off an eerie feeling of dread and helplessness.

"A demonic familiar... I never would have thought even in my wildest dreams I'd be able to see a demonic familiar let alone make a pact with it..." Hendrik stared at the small anomaly in the room sitting on top of one of the orbs, seeing even through all the darkness in the room the familiar he got was still adorably trying to push her mana through the orb.

A few moments after the orbs reverted back to their original state aside from multiple fractures on both orbs. Seraph exhales and plops on the orb.

'Damn that was exhausting... There any tacos in this town?' Seraph didn't look at their distressed faces as she was too busy being hungry.

"Y-yea.. there's some food outside in the market place we can go grab." Hendrik comes over and picks up Seraph which genuinely looks tired and not out to consume his soul so he places her on his shoulder and makes his way out of the adventures guild towards the city center which is now lit by magical lamp posts due to it being around midnight.

'Hendrik, you and the receptionist never told me what kind of power I have in there. Also this is totally not a taco... however it will suffice for now.' Seraph munched happily on a poor imitation of a taco being one slice of wheat bread with chopped meat and some cheese.

"Right about that... You have the aptitude to reach a high understanding of magic but for now... you have a red mana flow." Hendrik decided to give her a half truth.

'In that case I just gotta learn a lot from you to become stronger, and when the time is right and I've acquired sufficient magical powers, I shall create the first real taco in this world!' Seraph stood proudly on top of his head looking up at the new stars of the night, no light or air pollution dared to scourge the beauty of the night sky. The sight actually brought tears from both her eyes.

Hendrik was about to comment  on her getting more power, but saw the tears stream down her furry face and smiled. She still had compassion to not become a monster of this world. However her ambitions are a bit strange for a familiar. In the end he decided to rub behind her ears.

"Let's get some rest, I have much to teach you in the coming days." Hendrik started walking towards his home on the outskirts of the city where a lone tower sat amongst the grass far from the moonlit treeline half a kilometer away.

'Um, why is your house on fire?' Seraph stated while watching blue magical flames rise from the bottom of his tower to the top.

"You can see the mana geyser? I swear I'm going to get a heart attack the more you have to offer... soon you'll learn to destroy mountains by simply waving your hand..." Hendrik knew the mistake he just made ending that sentence.

'Now that sounds cool, but tacos come first.'
