Technique Grading and the History and Meaning of Balmore

Undeterred by this physical limitation, the warriors turned their focus inward, delving into the untapped potential of their own bodies. Through intense meditation and self-reflection, they discovered a latent sixth sense that allowed them to perceive the world on a deeper level. This newfound insight opened the door to experimentation as the warriors sought ways to transcend their mortal limitations.

In a groundbreaking revelation, one visionary warrior stumbled upon the idea that their very blood held the key to unlocking unparalleled strength. Through meticulous trial and error, these pioneers developed techniques to harness the power within their veins, creating a connection between their life force and physical prowess. This marked the birth of the Bloodline Techniques, a unique discipline that became the cornerstone of their martial tradition.

As the warriors delved deeper into their experiments, they uncovered the diverse potential of blood manipulation. Some developed techniques to enhance their speed and agility, while others focused on bolstering their endurance and resilience. The most skilled among them could manipulate their blood to grant them incredible strength and unleash devastating blows in combat.

The discovery of these bloodline techniques gave rise to a societal transformation in Oretheon. Noble Knight families emerged, each possessing a distinct and powerful bloodline. These bloodlines became the foundation of the social hierarchy, with the strength of a warrior's bloodline determining their status and influence within the knightly order.

Over the centuries, the warriors of Oretheon continued to refine their bloodline techniques, passing down their knowledge through generations. The Primordial Covenant Age became an era of both martial prowess and strategic alliances, as noble houses vied for supremacy based on the strength of their bloodlines.

When he first heard of it, he was amazed; he knew nothing of the bloodline enhancements as he was a peak Man-at-arms (Tier 1), and even then, no bloodline power appeared. He asked the reason, and the system replied that unlocking the bloodline depended on two factors.

Firstly, the bloodline judges when they would awaken the enhancements. The more potent bloodlines would take longer to revive. The second was for the warrior to be in a particular realm, and the technique grade would be the second factor.

This means that in the world, the bloodline techniques are divided into various grades from Grade E to Grade S. The stronger the grade, the more potent the effect; for example, a Grade E bloodline technique grants [Basic Speed], whereas the Grade S grants [Transcendent Speed].

If you have to put it into perspective, a level 1 Squire (Tier 2) with, say, Grade S bloodline technique that focuses on speed could have the same speed as a level 2 knight, granted the knight's technique does not exceed Grade C.

Grade E means it is ordinary.

Grade D means it is stronger than most in the same level

Grade C means it is invincible at the same level

Grade B means it can jump levels (Fight and ordinary knight one level above)

Grade A means it can win most in one level above

Grade S means it's invincible at the level above it.

Now, bloodline techniques could be in many forms and give man enhancements. They could be elements, beasts, weapons, and armor. However, all of the methods can only enhance one physical attribute. One of the following:

Strength

Speed

Endurance

Defense

Perception

But in any case, the bloodline techniques with elements are by far the rarest type in the world; the beast and tool are more commonplace. The factors for the grade ranking are due to what type of bloodline it is and how old it is. A bloodline of 300 years would have a Grace C technique, and a Bloodline of 1000 years would have a Grade S.

The House of Balmore technique was called Emberblade, and it was a Grade D technique. Knowing the history and ranking of the methods surprised Eldric as he knew of the Balmore House being 100 years old, but for a method to advance to Grade D, the bloodline would need to be at least 200 years old.

The Balmore bloodline was of the tool type, and in the ancient language, it was translated to "Emberforge Gladius," a sword-type bloodline capable of granting Eldric the enhancement of strength, more precisely, attack.

This means that if he ever advanced to a Man-at-arms (Tier 1) knight and faced someone on the same level, he would be stronger in strength than the rest of his attributes, which would remain the same as an ordinary knight.

Eldric had no other further information as the system remained silent when he continued to pester it with questions.

That was everything he could get out of the system at that time, and after reminiscing about the particular date, he soon returned his focus on cultivating. He closely followed the circulation pattern he could once do o so effortlessly.

And finally, he soon got the same feeling of relief and excitement that had appeared the first time he had tried to cultivate. It was heavenly, and with that being said, he continued to cultivate throughout the day and even into the night.
