Left Without Gods

In a world abandoned by gods and condemned by their creators, the creations continue to thrive until greed poisons the seams of society. In the wake of multiple wars, unease starts to brew, spreading across the vast continent. Gathering forces, the various races begins an arms race. Tension lays thick over the world. In a blood curdling, appalling tower, ruled by man, a child is born into a world left without gods. When all hope seems lost, a beacon of light erupts, showering the universe in its golden colour. Will hope be regained, or will it fall into an endless abyss, never to climb back up? ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Uploads will be 1 chapter / day for the next week while I have autumn break, and after that it will sadly go down to 4 chapters / week due to school. For every 50 powerstones, I will upload a bonus chapter, if I have on stock. If I don't then my uploads get piled and I need to work, so pray that I do. For every 25 comments, there will be a bonus chapter, and for every 5 reviews there will be another.

(DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU'VE READ THE NOVEL) Power system and rankings

This pre-chapter contains some spoilers and is meant only for those who forget the systems further along. Do not read this before starting the real novel. The system will be explained in the story.

If you're here, the information is further down. I do this to, again, shield from spoilers.

Human power system:

Novice Sorcerer/Sorceress - no mage rings when using magic.

Scholar Sorcerer/Sorceress - 1 mage ring when using magic.

Apprentice Magi - 2 mage rings when using magic.

Intermediate Magi - 3 mage rings when using magic.

Advanced Magi - 4 mage rings when using magic.

Grand Magus - 5 mage rings when using magic.

Archwizard/Archwitch - 7 mage rings when using magic.

Sovereign of "any element" - 7 mage rings when using magic + absolute control over said element

Sovereign of Magic - 10 mage rings when using magic + a constant "Arcane Crown".

Mages progress through the system through tests and is not predetermined. Even the Sovereign of Magic started as a Novice Sorcerer/Sorceress. Humans are suited towards every element in the Fabric of Magic, albeit the power they can exert in the elements are lower than other races.

Demon power system:

Child Demon - No horns.

Adolescent Demon - 1 horn.

Adult Demon - 2 horns.

Demon Count - 3 horns.

Demon King/Queen - 6 horns.

Demonic Sovereign - 10 horns + a crown of corpses.

Demons are, as humans, able to progress through their hierarchy via hard work and determination. Demons are more suited towards the darker side of the magical elements such as darkness, death and death.

Angelic power system:

Angelic Peasant - 0 pair of wings.

Angelic Burgess - 2 pairs of wings.

Angelic Nobility - 4 pair of wings.

Angelic Royalty - 6 pair of wings.

Archangel - 10 pair of wings.

Angelic Sovereign - 16 pair of wings + a crown of godhood.

The angels are the most "perfect" creations and the closest to the Gods, according to themselves. They can not progress through their hierarchy but they are born into it. The angels are more suited towards the "lighter" elements of the spectrum, such as light, life and fire.

Elven power system:

Elven infant - no wreath.

Elven Son/Daughter - 1 floral wreath.

Elven Father/Mother - 2 floral wreath.

Elven Grandfather/mother - 3 floral wreath.

Elven Elder - 4 floral wreath.

Elven Grandelder - 7 floral wreath.

Sovereign of Nature - 10 floral wreath + a crown of nature.

The elves progress through their hierarchy by assimilating with plants, whereas the plant appears around their heads in the form of a wreath. Elves are more suited towards the botanical, natural side of the magic spectrum, wielding elements such as life, plant, and death (yes, death counts both as a dark and natural element.).

Dwarven power system:

Dwarven Miner - 0 gemmed forehead.

Dwarven Smelter - 1 gemmed forehead.

Dwarven Forger - 2 gemmed forehead.

Dwarven Blacksmith - 3 gemmed forehead.

Dwarven Grand-Blacksmith - 5 gemmed forehead.

Dwarven Elder - 7 gemmed forehead.

Sovereign of Ores - 10 gemmed forehead + a crown of ores.

The dwarves progress through their hierarchy similarly to the elves. Instead of botanical life, the dwarves assimilate gems, or gemstones; jewel, to increase their power. The gems appear on their foreheads, building upon the foundation of a crown. Every dwarf need to find their gemstones, or buy them from merchants, and assimilate them through own affinity and effort. Dwarfs are more suited for the earthly side of magic such as earth, metal, fire and lava.

Ranking of the Gods:

First rate God

Second rate God

Third rate God

Fourth rate God

The Almighty

If you read this I've yet to figure out the exact power system correlated to the gods.
