Mark's life changed the day someone broke into his clinic to tell him that he had been a character of a video game all along and what he had known till now had been a code decided by the game's system. When he was supposed to die though, an external interference broke the code and he was no longer part of the system. Now as the only external influence inside the code, his existence was an enigma on its own. And his fate was to turn into a monster when the humanity continued to betray him at every corner of the world. 'His nature was gentle and loving to the point of putting himself in danger for those he loved. But betrayal laid everywhere in his new world and he should get used to being used' My twitter: https://twitter.com/ojasvisharma6 Support me on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/daygonyuuki (cover is not mine, I like it but if the maker wants it gone, they can tell me and I'll change)
Coming to the lower quarters was almost akin to visiting the slums, or at least that was the feeling Mark got when he walked inside that place. Even the entrance hall was full of people of all shapes and sizes.
No visible space could be sound with such an arrangement of space and people laid down like puzzle pieces to block even the necessary travelling space. It was impossible to tell where one person began and where the other ended.
"A new person seeking shelter? Ah, wait here while I check the available space for you" the person was not polite, even if his words were. His tone suggested that he would like nothing more than for Mark to go away and it was understood why.
Every space was given limited resources and with more mouths to feed, things were bound to become more difficult. As such, no one wanted more people to join them at such short notice.
