Chapter 109, Humanity's Darkness

The Le Sabre has joined his side and destroyed the Gem of Sloth for him. Very well, I'll allow it. However, I didn't expecf him to be so enraged that he'd turn those two into pigs. It seems the Le Fleur truly has been awakened.

"Master, what shall we do next?" Addy asked.

"Shall we motivate the Vermillion Bird?" Eddy asked.

"Hmm... for now, prepare the next stage. There is no point in awakening the Vermillion Bird." I stated.

If the Le Fleur wants the Essence of Summer, the Vermillion Bird will have to return a fraction of its original power to him. I'm satisfied with the results we've gained today.

Arata is still very much fuming, thankfully Ardor has finished making the antidote to help purifying what remains of the Cloud Nine.

"How's Arata?" I asked Van as he came into the hotel room.

"Still fuming but I'm not surprised." Van said. "I hope the other Le Fleurs can talk to him and calm him down."

"Yeah." I answered.

"Arata's rage, it must've been directed towards humanity's darkness." Lyzander said and I didn't understand at first. "The Gems of Sin are the materialization of humanities darkness. As such, they reflect the darkness of humanity."

"Arata saw that darkness and was enraged by humanity." Van stated. "It was only symbolic but he must've realized what it meant with a single glance."

"What did he realized?" Liam asked.

"That at times, humans will even devour their own kind for their selfishness. In other words, they will sacrifice others to survive." Lyzander answered. "They swindle, betray and even kill each other. I'm sure he knew this but it must've been the first time he realized how deep it goes."

Humans, are foolish after all. They abandon their own if necesary just to survive. It's not uncommon for them to sacrifice others to survive or for them to take lives just to preserve their own.

"Tenth, can you hear us?" The voice of Evergreen causes me to open my eyes.

I sit on seat with the other Fleurs surrounding me. Did something happen? All their expressions seem serious.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"We understand your rage towards humanity." Ivy said. "But you must calm your heart. your power is affected by your state of mind."

"How am I supposed to calm myself?!" I snapped. "It's unacceptable! To abandon others just for self presevation and greed!!"

"We understand that." Elias said. "But you must be calm before humanity's darkness. The Le Fleur must be calm and act as the light of hope."

"I can understand your disappointment towards humanity and even your rage towards it." Ivy said. "After all, I died in their hands. But, just because their are those who are like that doesn't mean they're all like that. There are those who care, who love and spread the light trying to dispell the darkness."

"Arata, your power has long surpassed ours. You abilities and strength are far superior than ours." Elias said. "Calm your heart, because I'm certain that this won't be the last time you see humanity's darkness. However, you must calm your mind and keep your heart still before them."

"How do I keep myself still?" I asked as I calmed down.

"That is something you must leanr by yourself." Erika smiled. "Keep your heart calm, and be still before the darkness."

"There is always light, and some will use that light to drive away the dark of the night. Never forget this." Julius said with a smile and I opened my eyes to the hotel room.

Keep my heart still... calm my mind and believe that there are those who spread the light... very well. I'll place my trust on humanity once more.

"I wondee how the others are." I sighed. "Arata hasn't contacted us for days now."

"Yeah. I feel lonely." Mao said.

"Mao, President, if Arata-san saw you he'd be very angry." Yuuki scolded. "You haven't done anything lately."

"I mean, there's nothing to do without Arata here." I sighed.

Right now, we were gathered in our Group Room. The others present are Touya, Riku and Moyu.

"How about dealing with a certain issue." Touya sighed. "There have been more and more compalins about Karin's behavior."

"I heard she attacked a person just for saying Arata's the best." Riku sighed. "What is wrong with her?"

"It seems she hates Arata-san." Yuuki said. "I can't understand why."

"Agreed." Mao said. "But we can't exactly do anything about it. That's the Student Council and Disciplinary Committee's job, not ours."

"I suppise so." Moyu sighed. "But that girl is really creeping me out. She's been on edge lately."

"We can't exactly do anything about that." I answered.

"If I can ask, did anything happen with Arata-sam and Karin-san?" Yuuki asked.

"Ah, that's right, you haven't learned about it since you've only registered a few months after Arata." I said. "You see."

I told him about everything that happened when Arata first enrolled here. I'm certain he should've understood by now.

Karin's rage and jealousy are the result of her own actions. When Arata first arrived to school, he was a Brave only in name, he didn't have any power yet but he was accepted into their Class and Course. He caught the eyes of Liam who was known as the King of Ice in our school. He was treated kindly by Alistar who was known as Distant One. Reinhardt who was regarded as Untouchable willingly risked his all to save him when they were strangers. Will, who was Demon King of the Business doted on him going as far as to transfer here for him, Alexis who was know as the Wandering Arrow found it mark on him, Zhen who was known treated as the Idol of their year fawned over him, Andrew who was regarded the Emotionless One seemed so gentle with him. Ethan, who was known to be the Shielded was very much open with him.

He was loved by the most famous and distant people of our school, ofcourse anyone would feel jealous. Hwoever, Arata, was like the light for many of us. Beinging hope when hope was lost and spreading lovw throughout our school. Many who sided with Karin left her and wnated nothing more than to learn more about Arata and be his friend.

"I see. That sort of thing happened." He looked down. "I didn't know Karin-san as such a person."

"She dug her own grave by turning Arata into her enemy. I'm not surprised." I answered nad patted his head. "Arata is very forgiving but Will and the others... well, hurt Arata and your dead to them."

"It goes for you too doesn't it." Mao said.

I smiled and I looked outside the window. Arata, our hope, our light,please be safe, no matter where you are and come home, to the place where you belong.
