4 Chapter - 03

{There has been some sort of problem. F-From now on, we will be broadcasting from the studio here. As you can tell, the situation outside has become grave. We advise that you stay at home unless necessary.}

All of them were silently hearing the news.

{Once it is safer outside, we will bring you information about the on-going situation.}

"That's all?! Why aren't they saying more?!"

Takashi could not help but be angered when he heard the news.

"Because they are afraid of causing panic."

Jin replied before Saya.

"Even now?"

Rei couldn't help but ask.

"Precisely because of what happened just now. Fear leads to chaos; chaos leads to anarchy. How would you expect the government would deal with hordes of zombies in a time of anarchy?"

All of them who heard his reasoning stayed silent.

{This unusual phenomenon has spread throughout America and has yet to be brought under control.

The government authorities have evacuated the White House and will relocate to a command center on-board an aircraft carrier. There are reports that this transfer is in preparation for the possible use of tactical warheads.

We have currently lost contacts with Moscow.

Beijing has been set ablaze.

London has maintained order, but in Paris and Rome, there are reports of looting.

The signal was lost in the middle of the news and a heavy atmosphere loomed over the room.

Jin who was listening to the news wanted to kick himself in the head for forgetting something important.

'How the hell did I forget to remove nukes from this world?!'

He then used his powers and made every nuclear warhead disappear and made every nuclear reactor stop functioning while maintaining the energies they have been providing.

"So, they are all over the world huh…"

"But how… When I was surfing the web this morning, it was business as usual…"

"I can't believe it took a few hours for the world to become like this… Don't you feel the same? There must be some place that is safe, right?! And soon, things will go back to normal, right?!"

Rei said with a false hope as she leaned on Takashi, who was at the moment, the only pillar she can lean on after she lost Hayashi.

"Keep dreaming!"

"This is a pandemic. What do you expect me to say?!"

"It's when an epidemic of an infectious disease spreads. So, the same disease that has infected the people here is spreading throughout the whole world."

"More like the Spanish Flu of 1918. Over 600 million people were infected by it, and 50 million of them met their doom. Think about recently when people were worried about that new type of influenza."

"So, how did those diseases stop?"

Hearing Takashi's question, Jin wanted to act dramatic so he spoke.

"There are a lot of theories about that, but… The reason why diseases like these 'die' is because they killed so many that there are not enough people left to spread them anymore…

However, in this case, the dead are moving around and attacking people."

Saeko then asked.

"So, you are implying that it has no reason to stop spreading?"

"Precisely."

Shizuka then spoke as if she had a brilliant idea.

"But isn't it so hot outside? Maybe their flesh will start decomposing and they won't be able to move anymore!"

"And what is the duration of this process?"

"Well, during summer, it takes about 22 days for some parts of the body to decompose. But during Winter, it can take up to months… Anyway, if we go to our hom- "

Saya then interrupted her.

"How do we even know that they will start to decompose?"

"Why do you say that?"

"Aren't these things already defying our knowledge of science and medicine? Why bother relying on them when judging right now? It could be hopeless, just how long…"

Saeko then spoke.

"What is important right now is to have a location we can make use of after we check on our families. Should we act only in our own self-interest, we stand no chance. Let us act as a team."

They then started to prepare themselves to leave so they readied their weapons and medical supplies and went to the door.

Jin and Saeko dashed first and started killing the zombies. Rei and Takashi held the sides, while Kohta got the rear using his gun.

They kept moving until they reached the stairs.

"Refrain from fighting when the opportunity arises."

Saya then remembered an important thing and spoke.

"They only respond to sound. Additionally, they are powerful enough to break down a normal door. So, once they get a hold of you, you are going to get eaten. Be careful."

Just as she finished, they heard a loud scream from down the stairs.

They ran there and found a group of students defending from a group of zombies. A student was about to get bitten but Kohta shot the zombie using his nail gun.

Saeko and Jin then jumped from the top of the stairs and dashed towards the horde.

Each of them started killing while Rei and Takashi took care of the leftovers.

"T-Tha- "

"Shhh, don't be loud. Is there any person with you with a bite?"

"No no no!"

Rei checked them and said that they are ok.

"So, wanna come with us? We are leaving here."

"Y-Yes!"

They then continued down their way till they reached the stairs that leads to the first floor. They saw that it was infested with zombies, so they stayed hidden.

"What is the point of hiding? They use their ears, not their eyes."

"Why don't you prove it to us then, Takagi?"

Seeing them like this Saeko spoke.

"Regardless, if we remain inside the school as such, we will be unable to move once attacked."

"No way out except through the gate, huh?"

"We need someone to validify the truth behind Takagi-kun's words."

"Hey, look at this!"

Just as they were having this conversation, one of the students they rescued raised his voice.

They followed the place he was pointing at, there they saw a nonchalant Jin walking through the hordes of the zombies like nothing, he even occasionally poked them or pulled their clothes. After having his fun, he crouched and picked a shoe and threw it towards a door in the opposite side. Just as the shoe made impact noise, all the zombies in the place went towards that sound.

"What the hell is he doing!!!"

Saya and the rest couldn't help but raise their voice.

After he took his 'tour' through the group of zombies, he returned to the group and spoke with a refreshing smile that made the girls in the group blush.

"You were indeed right. They don't react to anything except sound. For a rude girl you sure are quite observant, Takagi-san."

"Who the hell are you calling rude?! And why the hell did you do this?! It's extremely dangerous, how could you do something like that nonchalantly?!"

"Mmm, it's not that dangerous though? I mean if they attacked all I needed to do is kill them, right?"

He titled his head in confusion when he spoke. Normally, it would've been a sight to behold with how cute he acted, but with the topic being killing a group of undead and the blood that was splattered in the background it looked more of a devilish charm instead.

The group of hormonal teenagers blushed, while a certain swordswoman licked her lips a little.

He then left them and went to open the door of the school and Saeko went after him.

All of the group then went stealthily and left the building. However, one of the students was carrying a metal pole as a weapon and accidently hit it on the metal part of the stairs. The echo sound spread to the whole school.

"Oh crap! RUN!"

Just as Jin screamed, all the zombie on the school grounds started heading towards their direction.

They all started racing towards the bus with Jin and Saeko leading the way.

One of the students that they rescued was then surrounded by a group of zombies and bitten.

"Aghhhh!!"

"Takuzo!!!"

"Naomi!! Run!!!"

"Takuzo!!"

She screamed and was about to run towards him but was help by Saya.

"Forget him! There is no point in trying to save him if he has already been bitten!"

The girl was crying and pulled her arm away and ran towards the fallen student.

"Wait- Why? I told her it's useless! Why is she going back for him?!"

Saya asked hysterically.

"I… understand her. With the whole word going to hell, I'd rather die with the one I love."

"What kind of doc- "

"Watch out!"

Just as she was about to reprimand Shizuka, Jin interrupted as he killed a zombie that was about to attack Saya.

"Can you please calm the fuck down, Takagi-san?! It's not really appropriate time to discuss romance and drama."

"You filthy otaku! Who gave you the right to interrupt me while I'm talking?!"

*slap*

He slapped her cheek just as she finished.

"I saved your fucking life right now, so either shut the fuck up and get in the fucking bus or go and get bitten. I have no patience to deal with pricks like you, and I'm no simp who would take your attitude with a smile."

"You actually hit me?!"

"Sorry, my hands are bisexual, they have no problem with hitting women. Now, get in the fucking bus or go die for all I care!"

Just as he finished speaking, he saw all of them looking dumbfoundedly at him and the girls were blushing.

"Less talking and more killing, now move!"

Shizuka then went and opened the bus as she, Saya and Kohta went inside first. Hirano then opened the window and started shooting.

"Saeko-san, I'll handle the rest here now take them and get in the bus first."

Saeko then retreated with Takashi and Rei.

Jin then took a stance with his katana with a serious expression on his face, but he was internally jumping in excitement.

'Damn! I always wanted to do this!"

The group looked at him and saw that he was surrounded by zombies.

"Jin/Oukami-san!"

Just as Saeko was about to run to help him, she and the rest stood there as if they were statues.

They saw the group of zombies suddenly stop moving and they fell on the ground with each one of them cut in half from the waist.

Jin then stood coolly surrounded by the bisected corpses and swung his katana down cleaning the blood stains on it. However, inside his mind only a certain thing was happening.

'Holy crap! So cool! Damn, I wanna do it again! Oh boy, look at their expressions. Yeah yeah, worship me mortals!'

He then ran back to the bus as if nothing happened. As he went inside, the only thoughts of the group were either 'He looked so cool.' From the blushing girls, or 'Never ever antagonize him!' from the two males inside.

Jin thought that he saw a blushing Saya and a heavy breathing Saeko, but he thought that his imagination and narcissism were making him imagine things.

Just as Shizuka finally figured out how to drive the bus, they heard a scream for help.

"Help us!"

'Ah right, I forgot about that dude…'

They saw a group of students and a teacher running towards them.

"Who is that?"

"That is Shido. He teaches 3-A."

"Shido…"

Rei who heard this name suddenly lost the life in her eyes as she muttered.

"We are ready to go!"

"Hold on a bit!"

Takashi told Shizuka to stop disregarding Rei's condition.

"There is a swarm in the front too. I can't drive if there is too many of them bunched together!"

"So, run them over!"

"If we do this with this bus, we will end up rolling over."

It was Saya's time to burst his bubble.

Just as Takashi was ready to leave the bus to save Shido and Co, Rei stopped him.

"Wait, don't stop him!"

"Rei, what's your problem?!"

"You don't need to save him! We should leave him to die!"

While this quarrel was happening, Jin was watching as Shido stepped on the fallen student who sprained his ankle instead of helping him.

Shido and the students finally reached the bus and Shizuka drove off.

______/Scene change\_____

A bus was on the road outside the school, driven by a certain airhead nurse.

"Looks like we made it out safe."

Takashi said with a sigh as he looked at Kohta, Saeko and Jin who were maintaining their weapons.

Suddenly they heard footsteps coming from the back of the bus accompanied by the voice of Shido.

"Thank you for saving us. Are you the leader, Busujima-san?"

"We are without a leader. Our survival is simply the product of our teamwork."

Hearing her, he squinted his eyes dangerously as he spoke.

"Well, that's no good. A leader is required in order for us to survive. One who manages everything."

Hearing him, Rei whispered to Takashi.

"You are going to regret this! You are definitely going to regret saving him!"

Time passed as they kept driving through the city which was now looking like hell. Fires everywhere, people rampaging and having fights. Thugs with weapons kept killing people and zombies alike.

Time passed in the road till one of the students they saved who looked like a delinquent couldn't take it anymore and spoke.

"Tch! Look! We will never make it if we keep going! First off, why do we have to do whatever you guys planned to do? You all decided to go back to the city without asking us. Couldn't we just look for a safe place inside the school?"

Hearing him other students starts joining.

"That's right! We could've just found a safe place to hide, like that convenience store we passed by earlier."

Shizuka who has been driving the whole time couldn't take it anymore.

*Screeeeeeeeeeeeech*

She suddenly hit the brakes and stopped the bus.

"I've had enough of this! I can't drive with all of this yelling!"

"What… the hell?!"

While all of this was happening, the stealthy Jin was paying attention to Shizuka's jiggling breasts. He had to admit the boob physics of this world were really supreme.

"Then, what do you wish to do?"

Saeko squinted her eyes and asked.

The delinquent stuttered and started looking around then answered.

"I can't… I can't stand this guy!"

He shouted this as he pointed towards Jin who was playing Piano Tiles on his phone.

Hirano readied his gun but Saya held him.

"Hmm, me? Why? What did I ever say to you?"

"You bastard!"

Just as he was about to attack, Jin was about to take him down, but Saeko used the sheathed of her katana and hit the delinquent straight in his solar plexus.

"Arghhhhh! *cough*"

He was thrown into the ground and started spasming.

"You suck."

Saeko stated coldly while looking at him as if she was looking at an insect.

Suddenly they heard someone clapping from the rear. They saw Shido coming closer and as he went near the fallen student; he didn't even look at him as he stepped over him then spoke.

"Busujima-san, the mister over there, that was some excellent teamwork. But, hmm… The fact that this conflict arose simply proves what I stated earlier. We really do need a leader. Do you understand?"

As he spoke, he came near Jin and Saeko and Jin felt like puking. 'Who the hell made the character design of this defective Orochimaru?!' However, his thought was cut when Saya spoke.

"And? You are the only one who can do the job?"

"Well Takagi-san, I'm a teacher and the rest of you are students. That alone should be enough to say who's more qualified. If I were the leader, I would prevent conflict. What do you all say?"

Shido said dramatically as if he was the leader of a cult.

After hearing him, the students who came with him looked at him with blind worship and started clapping.

Shido then made a theatrical bow towards them and turned to face the main cast.

"Well, there you have it. I have become the leader based on the majority vote."

'Man, what the hell! I feel like puking. Seeing it in the anime is one thing, but the dude is seriously disgusting!

And what the hell is wrong with that Yuuki Miku, she looks like she wants to devour me what the hell. I mean, I know that I'm handsome and I'm kinda desperate to swipe my V-card, but no way in hell I'm swiping it with a walking STDs tank even if I am a Primordial…'

Rei couldn't take it anymore and stormed out of the bus. Takashi went to talk to her.

"Rei!"

"Screw it! No way in hell am I going to be anywhere near him!"

"Rei…"

Seeing this scene, Shido couldn't help but smile a disgusting smile as he spoke.

"If you are saying that we can't get along, then we will just have to split."

"What is that supposed to mean?!"

Takashi said as he ran after Rei.

"Komuro!"

Takashi then went and grabbed Rei trying to convince her to put up with Shido until they reach the city.

While they were having that discussion, Jin and Saeko heard a zooming sound. They suddenly saw a speeding bus speeding towards them.

"Shizuka-san! Move the bus quickly!"

After Jin finished saying this, the other speeding bus hit a car and rolled over. It started heading towards Rei and Takashi who didn't pay attention to their surroundings unlike the anime.

"Tch!"

Just as he clicked his tongue, he broke into a sprint towards Rei and Takashi, pushed them away from the tunnel then jumped inside, barely avoiding the flaming bus that closed the tunnel.

Seeing this scene unfold, Saeko hurriedly went to check on Jin.

"Jin-san are you okay?! Are you harmed?!"

Jin who was on the other side of the sea of flames smiled slightly as he spoke.

"Yeah, I'm fine thanks for asking."

"Komuro-san, Miyamoto-san, are you both ok?"

Just as he finished, he saw zombies climbing out of the flaming bus. However, they died one after another from the fire.

He then spoke to Saeko.

"The East Police Station. We will meet at the east police station. At 7PM! If it doesn't work out today, then we'll try again tomorrow!"

"Got it!"

"Now, hurry up and get out of here before the bus explodes!"

After he finished saying this, he quickly left the tunnel and Saeko went back to the bus.

"Shizuka-sensei, the road is blocked, let's take another route."

After they drove a little, they suddenly heard the sound of an explosion from the bus.

"Hurry up before they come because of the noise!"

After a while they, they arrived at the main road. However, it was blocked by too many vehicles. They could only travel about one kilometer every hour from the traffic jam.

"I wonder if we can even make it over to the ridge before morning at this rate…"

*grumble*grumble*grumble*

The serious atmosphere was completely ruined by the sound of Kohta's stomach.

"Shut up, you damn fat nerd! Put a lid on it!"

"Put a lid on it? But… I'm hungry…."

*BANG*BANG*BANG*

They suddenly heard the sounds of gunshots from the police outside.

"Kyaaa!"

Two of the girls who arrived with Shido screamed in freight, he then went and hugged them while speaking in a creepy tone.

"Are you both ok? Don't worry. We're safe in here. We'll be okay."

"Sensei…"

"There there, there is nothing to worry about. We'll be okaa~aay."

While Saeko was looking towards him with a disgusting gaze, Rei and Saya were creeped.

'Ah fuck! I think I puked a little in my mouth...'

Yes, this was Jin who couldn't take it anymore after listening to the tone of that cultist asshat. He really regretted using clairvoyance to check on them. Others may think he is joking, but he really respected Shido. The man bypassed his Gamer's Mind and made him vomit a little from disgust. Something that even killing couldn't do.

And so, he stopped using his magic as he left them alone to spend the night in the bus along the newly forming cult.
