Drunk

After settling the resignation procedures, Laurie hugged her carton box and felt a little disappointed.

Her story spread like wildfire in the company in less than 15 minutes, but fortunately, her departure helped retain her colleagues who volunteered to help her.

"Laurie, wait!" Beebo ran over, panting heavily.

"Senior? You didn't resign too, did you?" Laurie panicked.

Beebo's talent would be able to take flight sooner or later. It would be a pity if he resigned because of her.

Beebo smiled awkwardly. "No, but I'm on leave today. I'll send you back."

After the two of them got into the car, Laurie remembered that she was staying at Claude's place.

There weren't many people drinking at noon. Beebo and Laurie sat in a corner.

At this moment, on the other side of the bar, Jason was completely speechless.

Today was supposed to be the birthday of a childhood friend that he and Claude knew, so he came to decorate the venue first.

To his surprise, he saw this Madam "Sister-in-law" drinking with another man again. Moreover, she seemed to have drunk quite a lot.

The photo had just been sent to Claude. Before Jason could say anything, Claude called him right away.

Claude headed straight for Laurie in a few strides and hauled her up.

"Er… Hello, I'm Laurie's colleague, Beebo. She's in a bad mood today…" Beebo was afraid that Claude would misunderstand again and wanted to explain, but Claude didn't give him the chance.

"If my wife is in a bad mood, I will comfort her." He nodded at Beebo, then swept his eyes to Jason's location before leaving the bar with Laurie over his shoulder.

Laurie had gulped down the beer hastily just now. Now that she was carried by Claude over his shoulder, she instantly felt uncomfortable.

"Urgh…" She quickly covered her mouth with one hand and banged on Claude's back urgently with the other.

Claude placed her on the ground.

When she was suddenly placed back on the ground, Laurie felt that her brain did not get sufficient oxygen.

"Urgh…" She vomited by the side of the road immediately.

Claude frowned in disgust and soothed her back. "Why are you drinking in the middle of the day? If you can't drink, then don't drink. Alcohol causes a lot of harm to the body."

After vomiting for a while, Laurie finally regained some of her spirits.

She took the water Claude handed to her and rinsed her mouth. She felt much better then.

"Thank you, Mr. Neighbor."

When he heard this, Claude frowned even more.

He moved his lips but did not say anything. In the end, he urged Laurie to get into the car.

Perhaps it was because she was too tired. The moment Laurie got into the car, she fell asleep at once.

As he breathed in the smell of alcohol mixed with her body, Claude found he could not get used to this smell.

And even when they reached home, Laurie still didn't wake up.

Claude wanted to continue carrying her on his shoulder, but he remembered that Laurie had said that it was uncomfortable to be hauled around like that.

So, he went around to the front passenger seat and unbuckled her seat belt. Then, he carefully picked her up.
