Chapter 2

We went to the cafeteria and had some snacks. During that time, we talked about this school.

"I don't know what's wrong with my brother. He never talked about it. My father is always worried about him. But he found something very secret about Sir Fedrick. Never go to the east side of the library. There's a secret gate. And my brother had found that. He tried to find something but Sir Thomas had caught him." Prince Ren said.

"But what was he finding?" I asked.

"I don't know actually. As I told you before, he never talked about it." He said. Suddenly the bell rang.

"Oh, the break time is over. We have to return to the classroom. One more thing, don't tell anyone about the matter we have talked." He said.

"Don't worry about that." I said.

" See you later then."

"Ok bye." He walked out of the cafeteria. I also started for the classroom. 

"Princess Lauren, wait." Suddenly Princess Clara called me from the back.

"Princess Clara! Where were you?" I asked her.

"I was at the cafeteria. You I didn't saw me, but I did. You was with Prince Ren." She said.

"Umm....Yeah. I met him at the library." I said nervously.

"You make friends very quickly. Right?" She asked.

"Not really. He helped me to find the library. That's it." I said. We entered the classroom together. 

"Princess Clara, why are you looking so serious?" I asked looking at her face.

"Oh, nothing. Why don't you call me just Clara. We are friends now." She said .

"Ok, then call me just Lauren." I said.

"Of course." She said. A female teacher entered the classroom for taking our class. We got two more classes and then the school finished for today. The first day was not so bad for me. But it was quite mysterious. 

"Lauren, you are going home?" Clara asked me.

"Yes."

"Let's go to the carriage together." She said.

"Ok let's go." We went out of the classroom and was walking through the corridor. 

"Princess Lauren" Hearing Prince Ren's voice, I looked back.

"Prince Ren?" 

"How was your first day?" He asked walking with us.

"Quite well." I replied. "Today is my birthday and there is a birthday party arranged at my Palace. Would you like to come?" 

"Why not? That would be a pleasure." He said.

"Clara, why are you being so silent? You should come too." I said.

"Umm.....I'll think of it." She said nervously.

"Prince Ren, why don't you bring your brother too? I think he will feel better." I said to Prince Ren.

"Prince Ren's brother?! You mean, Prince Chris?!" Clara asked shockingly.

"I don't know he will come or not. But I think, I can try." Prince Ren said.

"You should." I said. "Ok guys, see you then." 

"Ok bye." I got into the carriage and started for home. I was thinking about Prince Chris. What made him go against Sir Fedrick. What is so mysterious in this school? Who should I believe here? 

"Princess, we have reached." 

"Oh!" I didn't notice that I have reached the Palace. Everybody was so busy today for the party. The stuffs were busy in decorating. 

"Lauren dear, how was your day?"

"Not bad mother. But I have known somethi---" I stopped. Since my childhood, I have shared everything to my mother. But today I was very confused. Should I tell her? But I have promised Prince Ren. 

"Lauren Dear, why did you stopped? Weren't you going to say something?" She asked.

"Aa.....nothing important. I'm feeling a bit tired. I think I should go take some rest." I said looking at the floor. If I looked at her eyes, I wouldn't be able to tell her a lie.

"Ok then, go get some rest. You have a party today. Did you make new friends? Did you invited any of them?"

"Yes mother, I have invited two of my friends."

"Ok then, you can go. I have so many works to handle and I'll send some dresses in your room. Make sure, you choose the best one for today." 

"Ok." I went to my room and lay down at the bed. I was really tired today. Meanwhile, someone knocked at my door.

"Come in." 

"LAUREN" Alina, the only daughter of the duke entered. She is my best friend. We were very close since our childhood.

"Happy 17th Birthday, Lauren."

"Alina! Thank you so much for wishing me. I didn't expect you." I said with a smile.

"So, how was your first day at the new school?" She asked.

"Oh again." I said rolling my eyes.

"Why? Wasn't it good?" She asked.

"I don't know actually. I was not bad I guess." I said."

"Then why did you reacted like that? Tell me Lauren." She said.

"Nothing, just forget it." I said.

"Princess, can I come in?" Lili knocked the door.

"Come in Lili." 

"Queen Isabella has send these dresses for your party today." She said.

"Ok, you can go now." She left the room.

"Come Alina, help me to choose a dress." I said looking at Alina.

"You are ignoring me Lauren. You are hiding something, right?" She said looking at my eyes. I looked down at the floor and became very confused. 

"Just forget it. Actually, the school has too many tough rules. And I'm really worried about my studies. Besides, there are so many brilliant students." I tried to ignore the truth.

"Only this? Lauren if there is anything else bothering you, don't hesitate. Talk to me. I'm always there for you." She said holding my hands with her adorable smile.

"Now let's choose a dress for you. I think you will look more prettier in this blue one." She said taking the blue dress in her hands. 

"If you are saying, I'm choosing the blue one." I said taking the dress from her hands. She smiled looking at me. 

At the evening, the guests started to come. They were coming from different Kingdoms. I was welcoming everyone. 

"Princess Lauren, happy birthday. You have grown up." A lady said.

"Thank you so much. Enjoy the party." I said.

"Lauren, you are saying the same thing to everyone." Alina whispered at my ears.

"I know Alina. But I don't know any of them. What else should I say?" I said to her.

"Yeah, formalities." She rolled her eyes. 

"Lauren" Suddenly Clara's voice came to me. I looked at my back. Yes, it was Clara.

"Clara! I had thought that you will not come." I said.

"Yeah, I have managed some time. Happy birthday."

"Thank you." I said.

"Don't forget me." Suddenly Prince Ren appeared. 

"Prince Ren, I'm glad that you have come." I said.

"Just call me ren." He said.

"Oh, ok then." I said.

"Happy birthday. You are looking great. This color suits you very well." He said.

"Thank you. All credit goes to my friend Alina." I said looking at Alina. 

"Hi Alina, I'm Prince Ren."

"And I'm Princess Clara." 

"Nice to meet you." Alina said.

"Ren, didn't you bring your brother?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, I just forgot about him." He said.

"Where did he go?" He looked around the party. 

"I'm here." A soft cold voice came from the right. A young Prince with ocean blue eyes and dark black hair came near us. It was Prince Chris. The language of his eyes was so cold. They were too mysterious to read. He looked at me as if he had known me for a long time.
