Escape

Raiden was trapped against the wall of the backside of the school building. He faced the never-ending horde of the Flesh-Eating Monster. They seemed mindless but they were strong. Raiden kept on hitting them with his metal rod but every time they stood up and came back again. The struggle lasted until Raiden found himself pinned down against the wall.

He was angry and wanted to take out all of them but soon he understood it was impossible for him alone to do it. Now, he attacked in order to get out of there. But, there were just too many enemies against him. The option to escape seemed impossible now.

But, he didn't wanna give up. He had lost his friends and now sore to protect what was left of his friend. Right now that was Makie. She had left alone and Raiden knew she wouldn't survive alone. So, he had to go. Leave this place right now and go after her.

The monsters kept on coming closer to him. He had stopped attacking now. He was just trying to think of a way to get out of there.

The monsters had reached him from every direction except for his back. They slowly kept on closing in the distance. It had become a tight spot for Raiden with no exits in his sight.

'Damn it! Is there nothing I can do? I have to get out of this place as soon as possible or else Makie will die too. I lost Chido and Takeshi, I don't wanna lose another one of my friends.'

He desperately looked around for anything. And, to his left side he saw a little portion of a window.

'That's it!'

That window was his final option for survival. And, he had to take it no matter what. But, he could only see a small portion of the window because the monster had already reached the window.

He wasn't gonna give up on his final chance to escape. He rushed towards the window to his left. The monster on the window's side was also approaching him. He held his metal rod by the center and pushed the pack of monsters away, those who were standing closer to the window. The monster pushed back by Raiden stumbled and fell behind. But, the monster behind them didn't stop get went ahead by stomping all over them.

The little space was good enough for Raiden. He immediately opened the window and climbed in it.

He closed the window leaving the whole horde of monsters outside and he made his escape.

Raiden stood beside Makie and bright

sunlight shone all the blood he was covered in, all over his body.

"Let's go! We are getting out of this school!" Raiden said.

Upon seeing Raiden, tears burst out from Makie's eyes. She hurried and hugged him as hard as possible. She cried, screamed, and sobbed.

"I was scared! I was so scared! I don't wanna die! I really don't wanna die!"

She took out all her load by crying on Raiden's chest.

Raiden hesitated for a second after seeing Makie cry like that, he put his hand on her head.

"Don't worry. I won't let you die."

Makie looked up into Raiden's eyes. Her face was full of tears while Raiden's face was full of blood.

"I am sorry," Makie said.

"Don't worry," Raiden replied, he held her away from himself. "Stay behind me and don't go anywhere else."

Makie hid behind him and she saw the monsters who were on the front grounds coming towards them.

"Will you be fine?" She asked.

"Don't worry!" Raiden replied with a cold look on his face.

They started moving alongside the wall. The monsters were closing the gap between them too.

"Keep moving, alongside the wall," he said as he moved away from Makie, toward the upcoming monster.

Makie did as he had said and they parted away.

Raiden moved closer to the monster with his metal rod and kicked the monster so that he fell to the ground. Raiden lifted his metal rod and struck the head of the fallen monster with his full strength. He hit the monster multiples times and he kept on hitting his head until he stopped moving.

He moved ahead toward another monster which was coming his away. He did the same with him. Kicked him to the ground and hit his head with the metal rod. He eventually stomped the head with his leg instead of keeping on hitting him with his metal rod.

And, after finishing him off, he charged

toward the next monster in his sight.

Makie didn't look at what was happening behind her back. She just looked ahead and kept on walking ahead by the wall.

She eventually reached the end and started walking toward the exit. She still didn't look at all the commotion happening on the front side of the school.

She kept on walking slowly toward the exit, not ever looking back.

She finally reached the school's exit. The exit was big and the gates were open.

She could easily walk out now but she just stood by it. She didn't wanna leave the school alone.

She didn't have to wait there for long as a big shadow appeared in front of her. She slightly look to her side and saw a lot of blood dripping down on the ground.

She moved her gaze a little more and found out the source of the dripping blood.

The metal rod was full of blood and blood dripped down from it, endlessly.

She finally looked up and found Raiden standing by her side.

"Let's go," he finally said.

They both simultaneously took their feet outside the school.

They had finally escaped the school.

"But where? Where can we go in this state?" Makie asked. It was the first time in a while that she was calm.

Dawn had come and it was about to become dark everywhere. They couldn't roam aimlessly on the roads.

"Where else to?" Raiden said, "The closest safe place here is Toshi's house. We will spend the night there."

"Oh, okay!"

They started walking.

Makie came to Raiden's left side and held his hand.

Raiden looked towards her and their eyes meet. She still looked so scared to Raiden.

He held her hand down tightly and said,

"Don't worry. I will protect you."

"Thank you," she said.

They had escaped the school and their new destination was Toshi's house.

In the school's front area, every monster lay dead on the ground. Everyone's head had burst out.

Raiden had killed every single one of them.
