Chapter 77: The Time Test!!!
In the dream world, there were two floating translucent bodies; one had a steely gaze and he looked a bit angry, while the other one spoke with a smile as they both moved with speed similar to a flash of light.
"The dream world has finally been activated after a million years, do you think James knight had found a worthy descendant to inherit his legacy?... If that is the case then that means I've won the bet I made with you years ago"
"It's okay, you could stop with the taunting, luckily I didn't offer anything in the bet, so you winning the bet amounts to nothing'
"Oh you think you're smart now, remember you told me that if you were ever to find such a descendant, you would transfer some of your powers to him. Since you cannot operate in the outside world, you would at least be able to offer help through your powers"
"Lenny, you do have a sharp memory, it's no wonder you're the dream state guardian of knowledge and memory, okay I would honor my word but not now, he is still too weak to take on my powers, although I could give him a little bit. What test is he taking on anyway?"
"l don't know, let me check"
"The time test!!!" They both exclaimed.
"Hurry up I need to see this descendant"
"He should be in the star-studded world, let's go check it out"
"What do you think the time test would be like?"
"Well, I don't know what James Night prepared for the test, I'm also as clueless as you are, eagerly awaiting the outcome"
"We've been alone in this world for far too long, it is time to finally witness something interesting for a change"
Both figures flashed and appeared in the star-studded world, the beginning of netherworld time.
They saw Lancelot Jr wondering around, they could also see an ethereal spirit within him, a white hue which was resplendently covering the spirit entirely, making her look like a radiant white being.
The spirit speaker saw them and she was shocked. She gasped in Lancelot Jr's head.
"These are the guardians of the dream state, appearing to your left. They are able to see me within you, I feel so exposed." The spirit speaker said as her voice was filled with panic.
No one had been able to scan Lancelot Jr that way, let alone seeing her clearly, being a spirit speaker, she was extremely sensitive to spiritual energies, she felt their gazes on her immediately they were made.
She felt exposed like a human exposed to the cold air in the winter season after disposing of his clothes.
Lancelot Jr also turned to his left and saw the two floating transparent bodies who were busy conversing with one another.
"Lenny, this guy isn't even up to average, he hasn't even activated 5 other elements, he is particularly strong in the fire element, while the water and air element are average at best."
"l don't think you should look down on him, for him to make it this far, there has got to be something special about him and have you seen his bone age, he is just 13 years and 11 months old, and Remember that James Night was already a baby dragon before he was formed, a baby dragon could take about 4 Millenials sometimes to hatch from its egg form. So I think it's pretty decent."
"It's time for us to meet the kid, let's ask him some questions"
Both bodies floated forward towards Lancelot Jr who stood there watching them with a curious gaze.
"Hello guardians of the dream world, I am
Lancelot Jr Night of the Night lineage" Lancelot Jr introduced himself without a second thought. "Hmm, he is so weak Lenny" one of the floating bodies spoke again completely ignoring Lancelot Jr.
"You are the son of Lancelot Night of the fire Kingdom" the floating body called Lenny suddenly asked.
"Yes guardian, I am"
"No need to be so formal, just call me Sir Lenny"
"Okay, Sir Lenny'
"Lancelot was indeed promising, I always expected him to show up in the dream state sooner or later, his rate of progress was extraordinary, at 17 years old he even activated his god fire. Unfortunately, he was killed by the trickery of the earth nation"
Lenny spoke with sadness visible on his translucent face.
Lancelot Jr clenched his fist in anger, but he remained silent.
"The kid also feels angered by this" the other translucent body spoke while he appeared slightly surprised.
"Don't mind Sir Zuco, he doesn't understand the relationship between humans and their parents or even normal human relationships" Sir Lenny spoke apologetically to Lancelot Jr, trying to explain away Sir Zuco's insensitive words.
Lancelot Jr didn't take it to heart in fact the only thing he really thought about was the time test that he would soon undergo. The spirit speaker within him turned in discomfort at being scanned so thoroughly and constantly by Sir Zuco.
"You carry a spirit within you, do you know that?
Sir Zuco finally spoke directly to Lancelot Jr,
Lancelot Jr already had a bad impression of sir
Zuco to the point of dislike.
He decided to totally ignore Sir Zuco and looked indifferently like he hadn't heard anyone speak.
Sir Zuco was puzzled and frowned at Lancelot Jr's silence, the atmosphere became tense, so tense that Sir Lenny had to step in.
"Zuco, That is a spirit speaker and not just any parasitic spirit. Spirit speakers are like guides to elementals, only powerful water priestess can make a spirit speaker of this level, the exception are those spirit speakers created or formed by the water god."
"However, I witnessed the death of the water god many years ago in one of my many memories so I know for a fact that this recently made spirit speaker was made by a water priestess."
"This spirit speaker is unique because it has a soul, that spirit speaker is exactly Priestess Kendra of the water nation, she also happens to be the mother of Lancelot Jr." Both guardians were stunned, Sir Zuco was stunned as well as Sir Jenny.
Sir Jenny was reading information from the memory palace in his mind, so he had to take time to personally digest the words he said.
Being a memory guardian, Sir Jenny had information on every elemental existence on earth and those in the Netherworld.
He constantly had the urge to absolve information created from both worlds and his mind was like a pit that never gets filled.
He easily could access any of these memories.
From the record of spirits, he located the spirit speaker files and then the file on Kendra, and read it out as soon as he accessed it.
Only after reading it did he have the time to ponder on what he read and the meaning behind the information he has accessed.
Sir Zuco on the other hand was a guardian of power, he was created alongside Sir Jenny in the birthing of the Netherworld.
He has immense power stored up inside of him, and hence from him, the gods of different nations were empowered as well as James Night.
Sir Zuco has only been with Sir Jenny from the beginning of his existence and as such he only was warm towards Sir Jenny.
He has a general disposition to be cold.
Sir Jenny understood this and never counted it against him whenever he was cold.
The information was still pondered on by both Sir Zuco and Sir Jenny when a large stage fell with a bright dazzling light flitted on it ever so often.
"The time test is here!!" Sir Jenny exclaimed while staring at the stage.
"What am I supposed to do? Climb onto the stage?" Lancelot Jr asked as he furrowed his brow and stared at Sir Jenny.
"The test was set by James Night for his descendants who had the ability to open his power seal, none of his descendants had previously been able to do that, in fact, the dream state has only been activated for transmission of power and for warning through the years, this is the first time that it would be opened for the test of worthiness."
"It should be noted that the power to stop time is an ability that even James Night himself never mastered."
"He had a lot of powerful abilities that he could count on to trump over others and he didn't want to strain his mind too far, his manipulation of other abilities had put quite the amount of strain on him."
"So he decided to neglect the mastery of time. Leaving it for his descendant who was worthy enough to break the seal, to have access to this ability."
"You're a fire elemental to begin with, coupled with your mastery of time, you could potentially increase the qualitative strength of your normal flame to get to a level slightly lower than godfire."
"Although you might not have the god-fire ability your father had, time mastery is equally powerful and who knows what powers you might unseal next."
"...Quickly, climb onto the stage"
Sir Jenny said as he recalled information from the memory palace in his mind, and he pondered on them, he then urged Lancelot Jr to climb on to the stage which he obediently obliged to, in anticipation of the test to come.
