2/13/23 Such a Hard Day with Bad Air Quality

We started off today with doing fly, back, and breast arm movement for our dryland. We spent like 5 minutes swinging our arms around which was boring, but it was something new. Next we did pogos, jumping higher pogos, and spiderman jumps. It was our usual except we were inside this time which everyone disliked. We didn't spend a lot of time on dryland, but I got yelled at twice cause Charlie was trying to dunk on me and coach didn't see that but he saw when I was pushed and he got mad at me asdjfhkadshkjfhadsf.

For warm up we did a 200 loosen and Luke got yelled at cause he got into the water late and didn't finish his 200. I think coach was getting on to us because there's a big meet coming up for most people either this week or next and he wants us to focus and be ready for that. After we did 6x (75 dolphin kick with board on 1:30 and 50 dolphin kick on back on 1:10 or something) Jerry came late and he was literally trying so hard and his excuse was the water was cold lol. Next was 300 breastroke kick then 16x50 1 fly 1 br four were drill on 1:10 and the other 10 were swim on 1:00 pretty basic. Our turns set was 2x (2x25 turns from the 3rd line underwater 2x25 swamp start where basically you put your feet over the gutter and just start from there without pushing off 2x25 from a push 2x25 dive all on :40 and all choice.

Our main set was 4x200 IM 2:45 4x150 FR 2:10 4x100 noFR on 1:30 4x100 FR 1:10. Omg the air quality was so bad I could not breath on those 100s free it was killing me. For some reason I was fine on all the other things except the free. After those 4x100 free we did 8x50 no fr :50 8x50 fr :40 and I was fine on those no fr, but when we got to the free again I was dying for some reason. IDK the water was freesing cold and the air quality was so bad. But whatever we had mental training that I was looking forward to.

MENTAL TRAINING YESSSS. We did some group work where we we basically came up with things that we talked about during our past mental training classes and what and how we could apply it to our upcoming meet. Jerry and Armaando came up with the funniest ones. Armaando came up with one "when your parents apologize to your coach for your bad races" and Jerry came up with one "when you get a stroke during your race and die and the lifeguard has to save you" and then we combined those two too "you bring shame to your family because one, you do bad on your race and two, they shame you for having a stroke during your race." interesting ones but mental training was so fun and probably one of the best we've had in a while. Also Anna came in clutch with the nerd gummy thingies which were so good. It was so addicting that Charlie shared them with everyone and we finished the whole bag so fast.

Anyways this was one of the best days in a while and hopefully you enjoy reading!
