Chapter 48: Time to Say Goodbye

Josie rested her head on Rakesh’s lap as she flipped through a random history book from one of her shelves. She didn’t really pay attention to what the book was attempting to educate her on, so she ended up dropping it onto the table with a thud.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Rakesh asked serenely.

“Molly and I had absolutely no luck getting Martin back to normal.” Josie partially whined. “On top of that, I haven’t heard a damn thing from those Lazarus assholes. Like, I need something to give or I’ll lose my mind!”

As if on cue, Josie’s phone rang. She scrambled to her feet and dashed to her conjuring table. “Hello?” She greeted whoever was on the other line a bit too loudly.

“Before I keep going, sweet girl, I need you to take a breath.” Molly almost laughed.

“Sorry, sorry.” The younger witch huffed. “It’s just been abnormally quiet around here and I’m just feeling a bit useless right now–”

“You’re not useless!” Exclaimed Molly and Rakesh in unison.
