Chapter 84 - Sylvia's thoughts

We arrived in no time at all at the knights' headquarters; the journey was by no means frustrating. Everywhere I looked, something new was in sight, be it food or people walking around wearing armor and wielding swords. Seeing this made me realize that I really am in a fantasy world.

But as I was moving towards the knights' headquarters, a question came to my mind: What exactly am I supposed to do now that I have come this far? With so much going on since I came to this place, I didn't even have time to ask Aurora-sama.

While I was thinking about this, Gaby let out a soft bark, bringing me back to my senses. As soon as I looked forward, I noticed that we had already arrived at the knights' headquarters. There were two men wearing silver armor at the entrance; they were both looking at us cautiously but still did nothing.

(We have arrived) 

I said telepathically to Sylvia and Rena, although they probably already saw through the window. While I was thinking about it, the carriage door was opened, and soon Sylvia and Rena came down. As soon as they got down, the two guards who were looking at us cautiously widened their eyes and tried to do something. But as soon as Sylvia raised her hand a little, they both stopped what they were going to do. After that, Sylvia turned to me again.

"Thank you so much again for helping us, benefactor" 

Said Sylvia, making a small greeting again. To tell you the truth, she really didn't need to thank me. On the way here, Sylvia told me everything she knew about this place, which helped me a lot to understand our current situation. The place where we are currently is called the central continent. Besides this continent, there is also the eastern continent.

Although both have their differences, I think the most remarkable one is that the eastern continent is formed only by demons. Of course, as soon as I heard this, I first thought that humans and demons were at war, but this idea was totally meaningless since Sylvia said that there was no reason for that. Both the central and the eastern continent have a long and lasting trade partnership where both send their processed goods to each other.

The central continent I'm in now is made up of the races of humans, elves, beastmen, dwarves, dragons, and fairies. But although all these races live on the same continent, each race has its own kingdom. From what I've heard, the country with the highest rates of humans is the country of the beastmen. From what I've heard, the country of the elves and the country of the humans don't get along very well.

Other than that, I also took the opportunity to ask Sylvia if there was any way we could earn money. After thinking for a while, Sylvia said that I could earn money if I became an adventurer since I am quite strong. As I didn't think it was a bad idea, I decided to go to the adventurer's guild the next day and register with the girls.

While I was thinking about it, Sylvia said something to Rena, and soon Rena moved to the two soldiers that were at the entrance of the knights' headquarters. As soon as she said something to the knights, one of them went inside the headquarters, and 10 minutes later, he came back with a small bag. After that, Rena walked towards me and handed me the bag. As soon as I opened the bag, I was surprised to find some coins inside.

"Please keep this, benefactor. Inside this bag, there is enough money for you and your companions to pay for a week's lodging with food"

Sylvia said with a soft smile on her face.

"Right, thank you for that, it will be a great help" 

I said while looking at Sylvia. As soon as she heard my words, Sylvia shook her head and looked at me with a gentle expression.

"No, if it weren't for the benefactor Rena, Rena and I would have been killed... maybe even worse" 

Sylvia said, her expression growing somber. But that quickly passed, and her expression returned to the gentle tone from before. 

"So thank you so much again for saving us. I will remember that for the rest of my life" 

She said as she looked at me. Being honest, I started to think she was exaggerating. In the same way I helped her, she has also helped me a lot since we got here. But I thought it would be a bad idea to say that to her.

"I understand. So, see you later" 

I said with a soft smile on my face. Hearing my words, Sylvia smiled and waved her hand in a farewell gesture. After that, I turned around with Glasy and the girls and started heading towards an inn we found while taking Sylvia to the knights' headquarters. Only time would tell if meeting Sylvia was lucky or not.

"Are you sure about this, Princess?" 

Asked the maid who was standing next to Sylvia. Hearing the words of her most trusted maid, Sylvia went back to thinking again about the boy with black hair and eyes she had met hours ago. Although Sylvia didn't know much about the boy, one thing she was sure of.

"He surely has a contract with some god" 

Sylvia thought as she analyzed the situation. The boy's unusual strength could only be explained by a contract where the ability in question would increase dozens of times stronger than usual. But there was something even more surprising about the boy that Sylvia noticed.

"Also, he was using more than one attribute. Although superficially it looks like darkness, I feel there is something more" 

Thought Sylvia. This led her to two plausible options. One of them was that the boy had made a contract with one of the eight gods of the existential pillar, while the other made Sylvia more and more interested in him.

"Possibly... could it be a god that everyone doesn't know about?" 

Sylvia thought as her mind raced wildly in various directions. But in the end, the only thing Sylvia knew was that the boy definitely didn't show even 5% of what he could do.
