Chapter 13-Secret Revealed

Maliq wondered what Luke wants to tell him. He waited till it was time for lunch then he left for the gym.

On his way to the gym,he met Maddy.

"How are you holding up Maliq?" She said rushing to hug him.

"I am good,you?"

"I am good,let's go to the cafeteria" she said holding his hand.

"Uhmmm,I have somewhere to go first,I will catch up later"

"Where? Let's go together"

"No,we can't go together,I will see you later baby" He said removing his hand from hers.

Maliq did not know what Luke wanted to say so he did not want to bring Maddy along.

"Ok"Maddy said walking away angrily.

"Maddy?"

She did not answer him but kept walking towards the cafetaria.

Maliq scoffed and headed for the school gym. When he got there,he saw look waiting by the treadmill.

"Hey" Luke said as soon as he saw Maliq.

"Why do you want to see me?" 

"I want you to promise me that you won't be mad at me if I tell you this?"

"What is that?"

"Just promise me"

"OK"

"Thank you,well I want to tell you to be careful with Doug"

"We don't really talk you know,so we can't get close"

"I know,its just that he knows your secret"

Maliq's heart started beating faster than usual and sweat started oozing out of his body.

"What secret"

"Well,he asked me to hack into your phone and go through your messages to see if you and Maddy had anything together"

"Hack? Can you hack?"

"Yes I can"

"So what about it?"

"I saw all your messages"

Maliq finally calmed down. He had deleted all his chats before he moved to Labrados so Luke couldn't see anything but Luke still had a worried expression on his face so there has to be something else.

"Was that all you wanted to tell me"

"No,I kinda restored all your deleted messages"

"Whatttt!!

Maliq's heart started racing again. His clenched his fist so hard that his fingers dug into his palm.Luke continued talking.

"I showed him your chat with the gundealer at your old town,Quisville"

"What part of it?"

"The part where you brought a gun from him and the part you urgently told him you killed your father"

Maliq grabbed Luke by the neck and pushed him to the wall. He was panting heavily. He hitted the wall aggressively with his clenched fist.

"How much did Doug pay you?"

"He did not pay me any money"

"Tell me the truth before I punch your eyeballs in!"

Luke was terrified. Maliq's gaze on him was so scary. He had killed his own father;he could also kill him if he does not tell him the truth.

"Doug didn't pay me any money,he once caught me on camera stealing from the school computer laboratory and when I hacked into his phone and deleted it,he told me he had it stored on a flash-drive. I was so scared. He told me he was going to give me the flash drive if I could show him everything on your phone but it turned out that he was lying and did not have any flash drive with him.

Maliq was now sweating profusely that his T-shirt was soaked in sweat. He finally released his hands on Luke's collar.

"So why are you telling me now when you have showed him everything?"

"I figured out you are not a bad person and you probably have some good in you" Luke said adjusting his ruffled up shirt.

"How would you know that?"

"You stood up for me when I was getting trashed by Doug and even went on suspension for defending me;I guess that makes you a good person,you just did what you did for a reason"

Maliq shaked his head frustratedly.

"Did you send the chat files to Doug?"

"Yes,I did"

"Well,can't you hack into his phone and delete it?"

"I can't and that's the problem"

You are telling me you hacked into mine easily but can't hack into his? What are you not telling me?"

"When I hacked into his phone,he made me create a software that cloaks his phone system so it is invisible to hackers,even me"

"Oh no!! So what are we going to do?"

"Well,when I created the software,I gave him a fake one which could be hacked into but at one condition;the software has to be switched off whenever his phone is unlocked which gives me a sixty-seconds passageway into his phone before it turns back on" and that's the difficult part"

 "How is that going to be possible Luke?"

"That's when you come in?"

"How?what would I do?"

"You have to switch off the software on Doug's phone Maliq"
