"What do you mean?" Maliq asked,confused.

"I said these table is not for someone like you;find somewhere else to sit"

"Dude,that's racist" Luke retorted.

"Shut up and sit the f**k down" Doug shouted at Luke.

Luke quietly sat down with his eyes on the ground.

Maliq was frustrated and confused but still kept his cool. He didn't want to have a fight on his first day in school.

He knew Doug was reacting to the way Maddy held him. He knew if he fought in school,his mother and Percy would be disappointed. He also thought Maddy was Doug's girlfriend and she was using him to get at him. He felt used.

Maliq quietly unhooked his arm from Maddy's then he left the table and sat down at the other end of the school cafeteria.

"You are such a proud and arrogant fool" Maddy shouted angrily at Doug as she grabbed her lunch tray and went to sit down beside Maliq.

"I think you should go and sit with your boyfriend or he is going to be more mad" Maliq said calmly as Maddy sat beside him.

"No-oo!!!he is not my boyfriend;he is Charlotte's,he asked me out in third grade and I refused because I only saw him as a friend and since then,he has been super grumpy. He is only jealous that I hooked arms with you because you are way hotter than he is.

Maliq blushed when he heard this and Maddy noticed his dimples.

"Oh!!you have very cute dimples;can I touch it?" 

"You can peck it" Maliq replied between smiles.

Maddy leaned over to him and pecked him on the cheek.

"You smell nice" she whispered into his ears and giggled.

Maliq smirked. He purposely asked Maddy to peck his cheek so he could get at Doug who was staring at him from afar. He wanted to make Doug very mad.

It actually worked and Doug was enraged when he saw that Maddy pecked Maliq's cheek.

"Hack into that guys phone and go through his chats and tell me what he and Maddy are talking about and everything about him. Also send me his dirty stuffs;guys like him always have dirt on their phone"Doug whispers to Luke.

" But he didn't do anything bad here,you are the one who attacked him without knowing him"Luke replied frustrated.

Doug leaned over to Luke and whispers into his ears.

"Do what I asked of you or I will make your senior year a living hell and don't forget you have a little secret with me. When you do this for me,I will give you the flash drive" Doug said smiling.

Luke's eyes flashed a bit.

"Really? You will give me the flash drive?"

"Of course buddy;I will give it to you" Doug replied patting Luke's shoulder.

"Okay then,give me till tommorow".

Meanwhile Charlotte has also been eyeing Maliq for some time and she made up her mind that she was going to have him. She told Keisha.

" Talk to Luke and get him to give you Maliq's phone number,I need it for something"

"I can't,you know things are complicated between us"

"That's exactly why I asked you;try flirting with him a bit;he is going to give you"

"I can't Charlotte"

"If you can't,forget about being my friend"

"Okay;I will do it,ughhh"

Soon lunch was over. There was a few classes and it was closing.Karen made it on time and picked Maliq.

"So how was your first day?"Karen asked.

"It was cool,how was your interview by the way?"Maliq replied changing the topic.

"I got the job" Karen squeaked.

"Oh really!!congrats mum"

"Thank you dear; i am so happy right now;i am going to make your favourite to celebrate it"

"Aww,thanks mum"

They got home in the evening and Maliq was tired so he decided to take a shower while Karen made the meal.

As soon as he finished having a shower,he received a text from Maddy.

"Hey"

Maliq ignored the text and left the bedroom to eat dinner. After dinner,he washed the dishes.

"Thanks for the food mum;I am going to bed now"

"You are welcome honey;have a good night and prepare for school tommorow"

"Alright;night mum" Maliq said as he left for his room.

As he got to his room;he locked the door and brought out his box from under the bed. He neatly wrapped the marijuana. He had to get high.

Thoughts and memories of a few years back started flashing through his mind and he allowed himself to drown in it as marijuana smoke replaced the air in the room.

Since he was a little boy;his father;William Johnson,had always been the strict type and did never gave him needed time and attention.

He hardly celebrated his birthday. He remembered his mother treating him to a sumptious meal after forgetting about his birthday.

Then it all started when William got retrenched at his workplace,then William started drinking to stupor,going to bar joints and gambling then coming in late at night.

Then William started womanising and he spent most of his time outside the house than inside and he would not come home for weeks sometimes.

He remembered his mother was always crying and working so hard to provide for the family and to pay for his home school teacher.

He then remembered the day his mother went in search of his father and caught him and his girlfriend in a bar and caused a scene then his father "Willy"as fondly called by his mother beat her to a pulp.

Karen spent a week in the hospital. While she was in the hospital,he took all her jewelries and some of her clothes and sold it then spent it all on his girlfriend and gambling.

After a week,Karen was discharged from the hospital. When she came back and saw all what William had done.

She confronted him and William gave both her and Maliq a good beating when Maliq tried to stop him then he dashed out of the house when he saw that she was bleeding profusely.

That was when Maliq realized he had to be stopped. He bought a gun at an illegal joint one night and headed out to the gambling joint where William was fond of going.

He waited till William wasted all his money on gambling and got drunk then left through the back door into the alley.

As soon as he saw William;he pointed the gun to his head. William was shocked to see his own son pointing a gun to his head.

" Please Maliq,don't do this or you will regret it although your life;I know I made some mistakes and I will fix it now,I promise to fix it"William pleaded.

"No,you won't,I know you won't dad;you are damaged beyond repair;I have to do this" Maliq felt some kind of hatred surging through him as all sorts of thoughts crept into his mind.

"Please don't do this,please"
