Chapter 15: The Sky-High Electricity Bill
Hinata Hyuga navigated her way effortlessly to the power room, glancing around as she arrived.
"Connect the charging equipment and activate charging mode," Hinata commanded in her mind.
"Command confirmed, initiating charging mode."
"Please select the target to bind."
A spectrum resembling an interface appeared in her mind, and Hinata focused her gaze on the battery inside the power room.
"Binding confirmed."
"Command confirmed, expected charge level to reach 45%."
After issuing the command, Hinata began to wait for the charging to complete.
As unknown atomic links connected to the battery, the electrical energy started to be slowly extracted.
"Current energy: 20% → 21%."
In the laboratory, Orochimaru gazed at the blueprints on the table as if they were treasures, a look of ecstatic joy on his face.
"This thing is simply amazing! If I had encountered it a few years earlier, it would have been incredible! But it seems it's not too late now!"
"It's time to start the research," Orochimaru murmured to himself in a hoarse, deep voice, his skin prickling with excitement.
"Bzzzz~"
But in the next second, the entire laboratory plunged into darkness.
Orochimaru was momentarily stunned, his snake-like eyes scanning around, but he saw no other living creatures. Recalling what Hinata had said before she left, he realized it must have been her doing! However, Orochimaru was also curious about how Hinata managed to cause such a massive power outage with her actions. The more curious he became, the more he admired her; this little one still had much potential to be developed.
In a dimly lit street in Konoha Village, Hinata leisurely emerged from a hidden door.
Looking around, she realized she was inside Konoha Village. No wonder they say the most dangerous place is the safest. If she didn't know about the secret collaboration between Danzo Shimura and Orochimaru, she might have suspected the Third Hokage was giving Orochimaru a backdoor.
"Initiating body scan, detecting the following two issues."
"1: Predicted energy shortage, recommend scheduling the creation of power generation equipment."
"2: Detected one health issue, curse mark data collected. Can begin analyzing solutions and prevention plans. Would you like to initiate the plan?"
"Sigh, the curse mark," Hinata sighed.
"Record to notebook, retain data." Hinata didn't immediately choose to remove it. As she often said, after removing this curse mark, there would be another one.
So her current goal was to bide her time until she had enough power to rival Orochimaru, and then she would consider her next steps. Once she had the strength to challenge Orochimaru, she could directly solve the curse mark issue.
"Both tags have been stored in the notebook, data can be accessed at any time."
After the system terminal's message flashed, Hinata smiled knowingly and casually tucked the Desert Eagle into her pocket. Before leaving, she had deliberately taken it with her.
There was no way she would leave the Desert Eagle pistol with Orochimaru, so it was safer to keep it with her.
Walking through the dark Konoha Village, the street lamps had completely dimmed.
It seemed that her energy extraction had caused a power outage throughout Konoha Village.
Danzo Shimura would likely confront Orochimaru about the exorbitant electricity bill tomorrow.
The surroundings were silent, but Hinata suddenly heard sounds approaching.
No, not approaching, more like rushing past.
"Make way! Make way!"
Sure enough, the next moment, a group of hurriedly moving ninjas appeared on the street behind her, shouting as they rushed this way.
They were carrying stretchers, heading towards Konoha Hospital.
The village had been unstable recently, with the Fourth Hokage's passing and other successive blows weakening Konoha Village, making it a prime target for other ninja villages.
Hinata quickly stepped aside to let them pass.
As the urgent team passed by, one ninja glanced at Hinata standing there, paused, and spoke to the others, "You go ahead, I have something to do."
"Yes!" The other ninjas didn't stop, nor did they look back, continuing on their way.
The ninja who stopped looked over at Hinata.
Hinata paused, observing the person in front of her.
White eyes and the familiar appearance of an ordinary middle-aged man.
"Young Lady!"
"Hyuga Ao?"
It was indeed Hyuga Ao, a medical ninja from the Hyuga clan.
Hinata hadn't expected him to be working this late at night.
"What's up?" Hinata asked first.
Hyuga Ao hadn't had a chance to ask why Hinata was here before she questioned him.
He looked over with a serious expression and explained, "Oh, just a little trouble. The Cloud Village is still aggressively probing Konoha Village."
"I see. Well, you should get back to work. I'm heading home," Hinata nodded, not overly concerned, and prepared to leave.
Hyuga Ao hesitated, seemingly wanting to say something.
Although the young lady was out for a leisurely stroll at night, he suddenly remembered something important.
Regarding Hinata's medical skills.
Seeing his expression, Hinata stopped and asked, "What is it?"
Hyuga Ao looked at Hinata and tentatively asked, "Would you be willing to come and help with something?"
Having witnessed her medical skills before, Hyuga Ao was still amazed and found her abilities incredible.
Such talent and skill at her age were truly rare.
If she continued to practice medicine, the safety of Konoha's ninjas would be greatly assured in the future.
For some reason, he had confidence in Hinata.
Hinata paused at his words. Honestly, she had nothing else to do; going home would just mean sleep. If she went with him to take a look...
"Alright, let's go have a look," Hinata agreed, feeling in a good mood after benefiting from Orochimaru, who was essentially working for her.
The curse mark issue was manageable; even if Orochimaru tried to use it against her, it wouldn't be a problem.
"Great! This way, Young Lady!" Hyuga Ao responded enthusiastically, leading the way with a joyful expression.
His previously serious mood eased somewhat, confident that with the young lady's help, the treatment would be much more secure. He had great faith in her!
Thus, the two of them set off together towards Konoha Hospital.
