However the incident of Uchiha Madara's departure broke the bond of trust-he said it nicely, but in the end the two parties with feuds still couldn't live together- it weren't for Hashirama In the early days of establishment of Konoha the village is already in danger of splitting.

"Brother in order to handle this matter we must separate Madara and the Uchiha clan." Tobirama said to Hashirama: "The betrayal is only Madara's personal behavior, not the conflict between the Uchiha clan and the village. We must resolutely express this attitude."
"Madara did not betray." There was silence for a while and Hashirama: "He just doesn't want to stay here."
