Extra Chapter: Subjugations part 1

(A/N: extra chapter is a chapter that's is connected to the main story, but the timeline is unknown. It can be after the "previous chapter" or before. There will be more extra chapters in the future, and some side story chapters.)

I was looking at the 3D map as I was standing on a tree branch. I'm now somewhere in the deeper area of the Mystic Forest.

[Hmmm...]

[Hey Xora, where are we going exactly?]

[Somewhere near here, about... 80km away... I think.]

[You think? That's way far than near.]

[Come on. I found a short cut.]

I enhanced my body with lightning and wind magic, then jumped to another tree branch and dashed forward between the trees.

[At least slow down a little!]

Not so long, I arrived at the destination.

I took some times to come up with a name.

We both looked down from a small cliff. Under the cliff, we could see some armors, weapons, and some skeleton's corpses on the grass, and they all belongs to the adventurers who died here.

Before coming here, I asked the guild master about what to do if I found any corpses or anything that's belongs to the adventurers who died in the Mystic Forest. The old man got confused and asked me why I was asking about that. So I told him that I was planning on trying to find them if I had the chance.

[Sure, there is no problem in that. But how are you going to find them?]

[With this.] I showed him my familia mark that's on my hand.

He was very surprised that I already have a contract with a magic beast, and in a very young age.

*Thud!*

I jump down from the cliff and then walked towards one of the corpses. There were less of them, only four skeletons I was able to spot.

Who ever killed them, must have eaten them. Not most of the wild beast that kills an adventure will eat their meat. Some wild beast likes to eat other animals, or another wild beast.

But if it was a reptile type beast....

[Xora... I don't like this place.] Rutelae said with  uncomfortable tone.

[I know.]

<Ding!>

According to Senoki's information, there should be about 32 corpses of the adventures who died here, but I can only see four of them, which means... the other 28 corpses must be inside the cave.

[I sense something is coming out from there.] Rutelae pointed at a large cave, about 30 meter away from where I stand.

I looked at the cave which was the nest of the beast that killed all of those adventurers.

[Hrrrrrrrr!]

I weird sound was coming out from there. I took my sword out from my storage ring, and readied myself to face it. But then, my eyes shifted to the weapons of the fallen adventures that's on the ground.

[Xora, it's coming.]

I put my sword back inside the storage ring, then I grabbed the greatsword that was stuck on the ground.

[Rutelae, I think it's better if you stay away from here.]

[....Okay, call me if you need help.] He nodded before disappearing in the air.

*Daam!*

Just then, the sound of a ground shacking was heard, and the beast finally came out from its cave.

[Graaaaaaaaaa!]

A big wild beast, over 10 ft tall that looks like a lizard, with a thick skin like armor, and spikes on it's back spine. Kinda similar to a dinosaur or a drake dragon. The people call it Sheik Reptile or Sheik Dragon, because it looks like a dragon type beast. Its rank level is A. And it's close to evolve into a magic beast.

I gripped the greatsword with both hand, and casted a gravity magic with reinforcement enchantment on it, to make it a little lighter.

'Activate magic enchantment, magic boost, Wind magic: wind manipulation, Gravity magic: gravity manipulation.'

*BAAM!*

The beast jumped straight towards me, closing the distance in a mere second, with its claws ready to slice me into pieces. But I quickly dodged it, and then swung the greatsword at it.

*Swoosh!*

I then quickly jump back, moving away from it after dealing some damage.

[Graaaaaaaa!]

Although I was able to penetrate its thick skin, but it only made a small wound. The only place that is less thicker and more effective is the bottom parts of its body, which are the neck, the chest, and its belly.

*BAAM!*

Again, it closed the distance between us with one leap, but this time, I evaded it by lowering my body down, and then slashed it's right leg. With this, I will be able to slow it down.

*Swish!*

[Graaaaaaaa!]

It tried to hit me with its sharp tail, but I was still able to dodge it too. I then injured its other leg and moved back far away. It began to feel more annoyed and angry. It released a killing intent pressure towards me to paralyze me by making me feel fear. Unfortunately, it won't work, because I have already protected my mind from any kind of debuff effects long ago.

Killing intent, pressure, bloodlust, and so on, are the types of mind attack that can affect the opponents mind, making them feel fear, horror, terrified, confuse, crazy, etc. It's also can be called a psychological attack since it can affect the heart through the mind.

I'm talking about the feelings and emotions "Heart" not the one that circulates the blood "heart" inside our chest.

I looked at the beast's yellow eyes with a calm expression. For a wild beast that was able to kill many adventures, means that it's more intelligent than the other beast. The same level of intellect as Ginro before he got evolved. That's why it's more faster and stronger, because it knows how to use the mana inside its body.

But for a wild beast that can Think, means it's easy to manipulate its emotions. And the more angrier it gets, the less wary it can sense to danger, and the more easier to trick it.

I started running around, setting up some traps here and there, while dodging every attack that is coming at me from its sharp claws.

Two minutes later, the preparation was finished. The big reptile jump at me again, but this time, instead of dodging I decided to counter attack.

'Enhance magic Resistence, magic enhancement, gravity enhancement. Activate magic boost, magic impact.'

I turn the greatsword to the side and swung it towards its face. Instead of using the edge of the blade, I used the side of the blade to slap its face.

*SMACK!*

*Claang!*

The blade broke into pieces, so I throw it away and ran towards the center of the field. The reptile stopped moving for a moment, because of the dizziness that it received from the blow. After regaining its focus back, it glared at me with more rage. I could feel its bloodlust aiming at me, but it still has no effect.

The beast gathered more mana around its arms to push its body towards me, since its legs were injured. I already know what it was planning to do, that's why I was standing in the middle of the field, exactly right behind the magic trap that I set up a moment ago.

After receiving the next information from Senoki, I began counting down.

Its body flew straight towards me at a very high speed.

It then opened its jaw wide, ready to bite me.

Unfortunately, the moment it reached five meters away from me, I activated the trap.

I purple magic circle appeared on the ground, and the wild beast was push back by a reverse gravity. A Gravity Push spell trap.

It knocked the beast back, making it fall down on its back. Right then, another magic circle appeared under the beast. The magic circle glowed green, and multiple plants veins came out of the ground, binding its legs, arms, and its neck. I placed my hand on the ground and activated Earth magic manipulation to make the ground more solid. Thanks to the long spikes that's on its back, the reptile is now stuck to the ground, completely.

I then used Earth magic to create a long platform under my feets, so that I can take a good look at it from above. I stared down, looking straight into its yellow eyes.

Please note, I'm not trying to act all high and arrogant by looking down at it from above. I'm just trying to get a good view so I can start the next step.

[Gr....!]

The beast was trying to get it self free while struggling, but it was completely useless.

'Activate Lightning magic: lightning manipulation, lightning control.'

*Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!*

I shot a lightning magic beam at the beast, damaging its nerves system, so that it can not move or use its mana.

[Graa...!]

'Now I can start.'

I took a deep breath before exhaling.

[Huuuuuh~]

'Activate Gravity magic: gravity manipulation. Activate Magnetic magic, magnetic manipulation, magnetic control.'

Just after I finish the magic activation, all the weapons that's around us began to shake.

*Clang-clang-clang-!*

A moment ago when I was running around, setting up traps, I casted some magnetic marks on each weapons, just so I can control them. The marks were actually magic runes of magnetic magic. It will make the object react to the castor's will, making it easy for me to control them.

Although I wanted to try using Telekinesis magic to do that since it's alot easier to control any object, but it cost more mana to be used. So, there is that one reason.

*Swoosh-swoosh-swoosh-swoosh-!*

Just like Magneto, I moved all the weapons up into the air. After that I created a small magnetic ball on top of my palm, and shot it towards the beast's chest.

*Pew!*

The ball hit its chest and began covering its upper body. Just then, all the weapons that's in the air began to move on it's own.

*Clang-Clang-Clang-Clang!*

Each of the weapons that are floating in the air, from swords, spear, arrow, dagger, and axe, are now pointing their sharp blades towards the wild beast.

*Clang-Clang-Clang!*

I was holding them with my magnetic magic, but they keep shaking as if they were alive, trying to get free from my grip, and wanting to fly straight towards the beast.

'This looks a little terrifying... from a third person perspective.'

Imagine you walk into a big room, with hundreds of swords hanging to the ceiling by wires. And in the middle of the room, you place a giant magnetic plate. What do you think will happen next?

*Clang-Clang-Clang!*

The hundreds swords will be pulled by the magnet that's in the middle of the room. But because they are all attached to the ceiling by the wires, they won't get pulled. Instead, they will move and point their blades to the plate.

Next, what will happen if you place a large piece of meat on top of the magnetic plate, or something that's Alive, for example. And then you decided to cut off all the wires. What do you think will happen next?

Let's find out the answer now.

I looked at the wild beast's eyes for a moment. Every adventures that died here and were killed by this creature, they all had someone waiting for them. Well, not all of them, but most of them have someone who are waiting for their safe return. Unfortunately, they all met a miserable end. The only think I can do for those lost soul is to get their revenge, and that's by using their own weapons against that beast that took their lives.

I gathered all the magnetic magic that I was using to hold all the weapons to my right hand.

Instantly, after snapping my fingers and deactivate the spell, all of the weapons flew straight towards the beast.

They pierced its body, ending its life.

[Huh...]

I sighed as I jumped down from the platform. Taking it down made me consume alot of mana.

Rutelae then appeared beside me.

[That was... brutal.] He commented.

[Brutal?]

[Well. Kinda brutal I should say.]

I smiled when he said that. He must have already known why I used this kind of method to kill it.

We then went inside the cave to see what's there. As we entered, a very disgusting smell touched our nose.

[Ugh! What is that smell?]

I didn't answer him, and kept moving down to the depth of the cave. It wasn't long until we found the source of the smell.

[!.....My lord.] Rutelae was covering his mouth and nose with his hands as he said that. His expression was so pale that he felt horrible and disgust.

What we saw was a pile of bones of the adventures corpses. Despite they are all just bones, but the awful smell was still there.

[Come on, help me collect them all.] I said to Rutelae.

[For what?]

[For bringing them back to the city, where they should get a proper buried.]

He didn't say any word after that, and began helping me separating them to each adventure who died. The process would have taken a long time if it wasn't for Senoki, since she knows which bone belongs to whom.

After separating them individually, I place them all inside multiple wooden boxes, which I made it last night. So that I can store the corpses of those who died in the forest, and bring them back to the city.

[All done. Come on, let's get out of here.]

After we exited the cave, I used earth magic to destroy the place.

*Boom!*

I then took out all the weapons from the beast's body and stored them inside my ring, so that I can use them later. In the first place, the reason why I decided to collect the dead bodies of the adventures who died here is because of the weapons. Because I need to practice my weapons mastery, from swords, daggers, spears and other, it better to use weapons that have been lost and forgot by their owners. And also since getting a new weapon is too expensive, For me that is.

Also, I am not using this "retrieving what's left" as an excuse to get a free weapons. Na ah. I'm just borrowing them... most of them... I will only be keeping the weapons that belongs to those who doesn't have any loves ones. I'm mean, it will be a waste if I just return them and there is no one to take it. Me on the other hand want to take it.

I sliced the beast's body into six pieces, and then stored them inside my ring.

After I finish collecting everything, I faced the graveyard and took one last look at the place where they all died. joining both my palms together, I closed my eyes and prayed to them.

[Hm? What are you doing?]

[...Praying.]

[Praying? For what?]

[For those who died here.]

[....I see.]

I could hear Rutelae doing the same thing as me and praying. To that, I could only smile.
