Master Lu's Feelings

Shuli and Young Master Lu's group had suffered poorly. All but the two of them had died at the hands of the dreadful Zergs. Both of them were excellent combatants and had decided to make the journey to the human shelter in the north.

However, little did they expect that tragedy would strike. A peak core formation equivalent Zerg which had the capabilities to spout lava and burn its enemies to death had determined the two to be its prey and followed the two for two weeks.

When Lu was about to give up, the mysterious woman along with him suddenly exploded with power and killed the peak core formation Zerg. However, she was injured in the process. Yet, killing the monstrosity did not give them relief, for it only attracted an even more powerful Zerg which also at the peak of core formation, but it's defense was too strong.

The two had no choice to run, but even with her injuries, the woman did not grumble and kept pace with Lu. Over time, he had come to respect her determination and strength and admired her qualities.

Yet, this Zerg did not want to let up on the two of them. This time, Lu decided he would stop the Zerg and urged the woman to run away, but she didn't leave and stood by his side. He tried his best to beat this Zerg, but he had truly been outclassed. He was only at the peak of Foundation Establishment, and as such he wasn't the Zerg's match even with his superior martial arts.

When he was about to die, the woman moved again. Despite being injured, she once again exploded with power and killed the beast. This time she was terribly injured and couldn't even move anymore. Lu tried to give her some of the miraculous pills he had that could cure her, but they didn't work on her. He didn't know why, for the remaining journey, he had to carry her on his back.

Luckily no dangerous zergs followed them after that event. In fact, it almost seemed like the zergs had been completely occupied by some other prey and disinterested in them. This allowed the two to survive.

During this period Lu took care of the woman. They didn't talk much, but they he felt that they had developed an understanding between the two. He really respected her strength and wondered what her origin was. She was much more powerful than him, then who could she be?

It is said that times of crisis often bring people closer. In fact Shuli had fallen for a human before in exactly the same way. Over time Young Master Lu started feeling that he couldn't stop thinking about this woman who was an enigma within his mind.

Unfortunately, their luck began running out, because the Zergs once again began surrounding them. With a heavily injured person on his back, he was really struggling against the Zergs, yet it was manageable. What pained him the most though, was that the girl suddenly took a turn for the worse. When the Zergs had been moving away, she had a knowing smile on her face, but once the Zergs started coming towards them again she had become depressed and it was impacting her health even more.

Things finally came to a head when another core stage peak Zerg targetted them again, along with constant encircling, it had become impossible to run with the woman on his back anymore.

At this moment the woman spoke. "Stop playing the hero. Run away now, you aren't that Zerg's match. Leave me here, I'm about to die anyway."

Young Master Lu laid her on the ground beside a rock. But he did not leave. He turned to fight against that Zerg. It was actually a Beetle like Zerg which emitted a fiercely evil aura.

"You saved my life so many times, how could I leave you behind? Besides, I care too much about you now to abandon you at this moment." Lu said with a firm voice. He had decided to face the beetle head on.

The woman was almost at the verge of passing out, but she willed herself awake. She saw the beetle playing with Master Lu. He was trying his damndest, but the beetle was battering him around like a toy. She remembered the human who had once saved her in the ruin, it was a one sided infatuation. Then she saw this man. He was much more qualified than that man could ever be and was even laying down his life for her now. Yet she didn't feel any emotions for him except guilt. She felt she was near her final moments and at this moment she saw a new face. Little naive, little scheming, very carefree and overly comfortable, yet he treated her as a true companion. He knew who she was and accepted her for that. But unfortunately, she was now at her end.

The beetle had decided it had had enough of playing around and decided to kill Master Lu. Master Lu was seriouslh injured, but he was still conscious. Seeing the beetle about to finish him he let out a sad laugh. What Radiant Sect, what young master? These things were all meaningless when he couldn't even save the one he truly cared for.

At that moment there was a single word that sounded out. "Enough." A brilliant glimmer shined in both Master Lu and Shuli's eyes and a powerful piercing atmosphere permeated the air. Suddenly, the beetle was split apart into two and died. When Shuli saw the person behind the beetle which split into two she burst into a happy smile. However, when Master Lu saw that smile, he felt like his heart had crashed.

Red arrived and saw the condition of the Master Lu, he looked seriously injured but he would be fine. Then he looked at Shuli and frowned. She appeared to be at the brink of death.
