Blue Blood

The four made their way forward. They had all become more powerful than at the start of their escape from the oasis and thus it had become much more easier to travel. As long as they didn't come across a Zerg of the level of the humanoid Nascent Soul Zerg, they would be fine. As such they could travel larger distances in a single day as well and became quicker.

Luckily, after ten days, Red could sight a towering building surrounded by an armored city far away. He looked at his geo locator and confirmed his suspicions. "The base is ahead." He said to the others. They nodded and began to rush towards the base.

When they came close enough to observe the base they realized that the whole armored city was bubbled up within a force shield and not a single human could be seen outside the base. However, there weren't any Zergs around either. The area was completely barren.

"Something's not right." Shuli said. Red was feeling the same too. "I can smell blood ahead, there might be an ambush ahead." He said.

Then the group heard a young man clap. "I must laud your perceptiveness. I didn't expect you to realize my presence." He said as he showed himself. Red could feel a familiarity from the man, but he wasn't sure how.

"I can't make out his cultivation." Lu Shen warned. Shuli and the holy child were the same. It was as if this man had no cultivation at all, but this was planet Bellesimo. There was no way this man would survive without cultivation. However, Red wasn't the same. He could feel that this man was very powerful, perhaps even more than Flame Tribulation just before she ascended to become a God.

The young man laughed, but his eyes chilled the group's hearts. "I wouldn't go to that base if I were you." He said. Red frowned. "Why not?" The young man looked at Red curiously and didn't answer him. He asked his own question instead. "Lad, which family are you from?"

"Family? How does it matter to you?" Red answered, but inwardly he was surprised, because he could feel some similarity between the two. After a few seconds he realized that his Bloodline Art was bubbling as he had neared this powerful young man.

"You are from Blood Legion." Red suddenly said. The young man simply smiled creepily before he carved a slit on his arm. Deep blue blood began flowing out before the wound rapidly healed.

When the holy child and Lu Shen saw that they were shocked. They had heard rumors about the blue blood before. But they didn't know much. For the first time they heard Red say Blood Legion.

"If you know this much, then you should know to bow before your superior." The young man said, his eyes going colder.

"Superior?" Red shook his head. "You aren't my superior."

The young man's look turned cruel. "Kneel!" He ordered. Suddenly the young man emitted a powerful Blood energy pressure towards Red. It was even causing his companions to tremor, but Red's bloodline art began running at an extremely high speed and the pressure simply turned into energy and swallowed by the blood.

The young man, for the first time, was shocked. "This, how is this possible? How can bloodline suppression not work on you? Unless your blood is bluer than mine!"

Red shook his head. He slit his hand just like the young man had done, and a slight amount of blood flowed out before it too visibly healed. However, Red's blood was very scarlet and almost had a glittery quality to it. There was not a hint of blue within it. "I am not from your cult." Red said.

However, the young man was shocked even further. When he saw the blood, his own blood felt like it had felt the pressure to kneel. "You are a threat to my Blood Legion. I can't let you survive!" He exploded with power and the energy caused the whole planet to tremble. Shuli, holy child and Lu Shen was struck by fear of the power which had paralyzed them from moving. They only had one word in their minds. Strong!

The young man formed a blue colored blood energy orb within his hand as the energy concentrated into that orb, he teleported to Red and hit him in the face without any chance to react. The other three looked on in shock for the young man was just too fast.

However the orb never hit Red. A flame shield surrounded his body and absorbed the orb of blue blood energy completely dumbfounding the young man. Suddenly a phoenix came out of Red's forehead and entered the young man's head and he immediately started burning in powerful flames and he couldn't move either.

Loud crazy yells of the young man spread throughout the entire area smashing into the force field around the armored shelter. Red didn't hesitate. He took out the sword from his storage ring and felt the sword intent collect to him from the world. He rushed towards the paralyzed and burning young man and slashed his neck.

Usually even a sword intent wouldn't have pierced the young man's neck, but he was paralyzed by the phoenix which had entered his body and was burning from the inside which he was trying to stop using his blood. At the same time, his blood suffered from suppression from encountering Red along with the powerful penetrative pierce force in Red's sword intent, his neck was cut off like tofu and his head lopped off. The powerful young man from Blood Legion died just like that.

Immediately a powerful blood energy transferred into Red non stop and his Bloodline Art kept running as if hyperactive. Red had already reached Blood Condensation Realm earlier, but this huge amount of blood energy was more than all he had ever collected before combined.

The next stage in Bloodline Art was forming a Blood Core. However, Red did not have the the blue tinge in his bloodline art since it would be always absorbed by the silvery metallic liquid within his cells and hence the transformation he had was completely different.

Red's blood continuously became more and more scarlet and was becoming hotter as well. The Blood began to form tiny shining glittery properties like stars. His blood became more fluorescent and his arteries and veins became thicker and stronger. The Blood began reinforcing his internal organs as the starry quality within his blood began to increase. Soon the gush of energy ended and Red had completed his cultivation. He had reached a new realm in his Bloodline Art, but it wasn't a Blood Core, instead his blood had a complete change. Given how shiny his blood was now, he wondered if he would even be considered a human anymore.

"It seems the Blood Legion and I are destined to become enemies." Red murmured. The other three were still stunned at the sudden turnaround that had happened. Red went and took the dead man's storage ring. The fire had eaten away the body completely.

Red looked up at the sky and said only one word. "Thanks." Shuli was the only one who understood who he was thanking. Flame Tribulation had given Red a token which would protect him three times.

Red and the other three carefully made their way to the human base, but it was completely shielded and there seemed to be no sign of lookouts.
