A New Chapter

Airson would be taken to the hospital to heal and rest.

Katie and Miraka contacted Police and Knights HQ that Z had been defeated, and that Casey had been a mole in the First Order, one that had committed grave crimes. He was sentenced to life in maximum security prison.

When Niwea woke up, Nigel was at his bedside crying, telling him that he no longer had any powers.

Niwea didn't even care all that much. "I was only able to make the Alpha Squadron because of you guys. I realized that I wasn't really cut out for being a Knight. At least now I can focus more on being with my new family."

Asnoth was retrieved from the destroyed Silver City and hospitalized. The Queen made arrangements to have the entire city rebuilt. The lockdown placed on the Knights was lifted, and everyone was allowed to go home.

A week later, Airson sat on his couch, staring at the ceiling by himself. A knock was at the door.

"Coming!" he called out. He opened the door to two Royal Guards standing in front of him. The one on the right cleared his throat. "The Queen has formally requested that both Airson and Nigel, of the Knights of the First Order's Alpha Squadron, come to the Royal Palace for an audience with her Majesty."

Airson gratefully accepted, and so did Nigel.

That night, the two of them appeared before Emilia, Queen of Arbok.

In the meeting, Airson and Nigel were first congratulated on their achievements. They were given diamond Medals of Honor. Next, the queen told them that they were being promoted to Omega Rank effective immediately. The two of them also received a special mission completion reward of one billion credits each.

After the audience, Nigel and Airson went to HQ, where they were cheered on by everyone there and congratulated on becoming Omegas.

Asnoth watched from a distance. He said nothing to either of them, and left early.

When Airson was heading back to his house, Pachi ran out to greet him. "Hey! I heard you were back from your mission so I ran here as fast as I could!"

"Hey Pachi," Airson patted her on the head. "How've you been doing staying with Niwea's family?"

Pachi had a big grin on her face. "I love it there! They said I have a lot of potential! Or whatever that means. But I have it!"

Airson laughed. "I bet you do."

Pachi started running back. "I have chores to do so I'll see you soon!"

Airson watched her leave. He let out a deep breath.

For once in a while, Airson and his friends were able to experience peaceful times.
