Chapter Seven

It was the next day and Barrister Thomas has not seen his son, he tried calling him but his line wasn't going, he thought maybe for one reason or the other he has decided to stay back, but for not picking his calls was his concern. It was midday already and Tony has neither come back nor picked his calls, "what is wrong with Tony?, what could he be doing in school, but I instructed him to come home first thing tomorrow morning, oh my God have mercy". Few minutes later, Barrister Thomas phone ranged, it was Tony's line but he was not the one calling, he immediately picked the call he didn't wait for the caller to say a word, he started talking "Tony where are you?, I've been waiting for you since morning why haven't you come back?, what have you been doing in school, in fact where are you now?. The voice from the other end was big and terrifying, "hello young man, your son is with us now and he's not gonna be released anytime soon and you might not even see him again, just tell him goodbye for now" he cut the call. Barrister Thomas now knew that his son has been kidnapped, he sat on the floor in his living room shouting and screaming for help, "oh God save my son oo, somebody should help me o my son has been kidnapped, Jesus I am doomed...ah ah ah. Without wasting time he put a call across to the police reporting the kidnap of his son. As a barrister he knew high ranked police officers who will help him out, after contacting the officer, she promised that all hands will be on deck to ensure the release of his son.

The recent kidnap cases had spread all over the school and beyond, Tony was not the only one kidnapped that very night, more than twenty students were missing and this caused tears in the family of those missing because it has been known that once a student is kidnapped, they barely release them. Parents came crying and complaining to the school authority, the registra was the highest authority in school, whenever parents came to him reporting the case of their missing children, he will pretend to sympatise with them, promising them that they are doing their very best to make sure their children is found.

Tony kept praying and praising God in his new home, sometimes he carried the people along, sometimes he prayed alone but he first of all told God to forgive him for not preaching to Zackie, Zackie actually died that night when he ran home, the boys later took him outside at night and used the knife on him, this is because Zackie has refused to balance them for the job done. Tony saw his dead body as people gathered him the next morning which was the day himself was captured. The police officer that promised Barrister Thomas to be of help to him was already on the matter, she started immediately the case was reported to her but she is yet to come up with something. Now Davies was still on target by inspector Desmond but he never knew this, inspector Desmond has earlier visited the red horn confraternity giving them a job to get Davies captured and brought to him, now the red horn confraternity was a smaller unit of the underworld secret cult only made up of students, they act somehow as messengers to the real members of the underworld, the two groups were not friends anyway but they had things in common, they hunt for blood.

The caliber of people in the underworld were no match with the students but they were just connected in one way or the other. Once any member of underworld gives them an assignment, their job is just to get it done and they are being paid for any work done. The leader of the group by name Rambo was very proud, arrogant and stubborn , he does this to anyone at all, he doesn't care about your position or wealth, he believes that getting to the position of being the leader of the red horn confraternity, the most feared cult group in the school was not an easy journey, he knew what he passed through, he knew how many blood he shed and also several concotion he took on daily basis and lots more so he has every reason to be flaunt and authoritative to anyone.

Rambo was on the assignment to get Davies captured, Davies had a class to lecture that morning, it was on a Monday morning, Rambo sent some of his boys to the class to act as students just to spy on him, Badmus was among and he was to lead the other guys, there were about three of them. It happened that morning that while Davies was teaching, this cult boys began to insult him "Oga teach this thing fast make we dey commot here, you class too boring ni", another guy "I tire o since morning en just de talk rubbish", the other students were suprised, Davies took off his glasses and looked at them "who the hell are you talking to, do you realise you are talking to your lecturer, now all of you stand up immediately and get out of my class", the boys sat down comfortably and continued their insult "this Oga nor know who e dey talk to, you just dey here dey para, oga keep quiet and continue your class joor", Davies confronted them the more "look at these little chicks threathening me, dressed like touts and here opening your dirty mouths to threaten your lecturer, you all are insensible". The last statement of Davies touched them, Badmus taking the lead hits the desk and shouted "no blood" then the other guys responded "no glory", they repeated this up to three times, Davies was suprised, he opened his eyes wide like as if he was strucked from behind, he remembered this was the same thing his father and inspector Desmond said repeatedly after the death of his mother then he realised that these boys could be part of them, fear almost gripped him but it was as if he got courage from nowhere and confronted the boys, "eh eh eh where did you get that from?" then he threathened them "have you ever rode on the third dimension, have you poured down fire on the first in rank, holder of the secret seer?" at this point, the boys were already shaking in their sits as they have confronted a higher authority unknowingly, Davies continued since he saw the boys were already afraid " you are just little boys and you are here babbling, now as your senior and elder I command you now 'stand up' without wasting time, the boys were already on their feet.

When the boys came back to their domain, they were curious to tell their leader what happened, "that man is not an ordinary lecturer o, as it is now Rambo we are in trouble we have tread on a dangerous path, he is a member of the cult, and according to him he has ridden on the third dimension. Rambo was bit confused about the whole thing, he knew what it means for someone to ride on the third dimension, but inspector Desmond never told them this about him, Rambo was not really afraid because he wasn't the one that confronted him, he told the boys to get ready to die at any time because he [Davies] might come fighting back. Rambo left pursing after Davies waiting until when next inspector arrives while on the other hand, Davies was afraid that he confronted the cult boys he should hace ignored them, " who told me to go and show myself o now they will come after me, he knew what he passed through with his father, he told Pa James they prayed together and he encouraged him not to be afraid. Davies initially didn't want to go to school the next morning but he did after Pa James told him to fear not and reminded him of who he was.

Davies went to school that morning, luckily that day he had only two lectures in the morning hours so he finished on time, he packed his bag to go home just then his phone ranged, he left his bag in his office, went outside to pick the call it was Pa James who called, he wanted to know if there was any issue but Davies assured him that there was none, still on the phone as they were still talking, Davies noticed someone spying him, his eyes red and terrifying, he quickly told Pa James, "Baba please is as if someone is sent to spy on me, I think they are after me already please I'm coming home now. He cut the call, went back into his office, carried his bag and rushed home like someone who was been pursued. Badmus on the other hand was afraid to loose his life as have confronted a senior collegue, he dreams of Davies every night trying to kill him, in fact he rarely sleep at night, he became afraid of the who thing it's as if he is really smelling danger, so he swore to kill Davies once and for all, it is either he dies, Davies dies all both of them, but Davies was not a cult member, he only observed and knew little things about his father and where he belonged to, this few knowledge had was what he used in confronting the boys on that day which made them think he actually belong.
