Chapter 19 : The Traitors

An hour after, we meet with my slave, I mean that girl with grey hair who gave me a job before and rewarded me like that, but now she has a surprise for me in the Garden of Dreams, but she keeps being cold to me on purpose.

"Why do you hate me so much !?"

"That's just how I normally look at people."

"Are you girls flirting or something ?" coughs Plutaria, still sick.

"Is the princess alright ?"

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine."

"Alright then. Follow me."

We follow her as I help Plutaria walking by holding her unto my shoulder, yet she has so much weight that I'm the one having a hard time walking and she mocks me while coughing on my hair.

"What's so funny !?"

"That."

She doesn't say anymore words, she keep silent as we move forward following my slave but most likely employee. I am surprised by what I see lying on the ground, it's the oni from before and her boyfriend, both tied up separately to opposites tree.

The boyfriend is pissed, he glares at me like there is no tomorrow and I start by approaching him.

"Hello, you're suspected of something really bad and I wanted to make sure it was not you two."

"We're innocent !" shouts the guy.

"The witch Carmilla lied a lot to me before talking of an hybrid and I came to the conclusion that you were up to no good."

"We are just a couple ! We did nothing wrong !"

"Don't waste our time, you are the ones who tried to kill Plutaria. Why ?"

"She is a monster, like her parents. She wants us to bend on our kneels, they are creatures of the Devil !"

"Do not criticize my friend, just be honest with me and I can promise you, no one will get hurt."

"Naive." says Plutaria.

I get closer to the boy, he frown at me with a look of disgust, trying to say anything in order to make us leave and think he'll get away with it.

"And by the way my slave, I'll call you Dia from now on. How were you able to get them ?"

"Secret. He isn't gonna share information or say the truth, love blinds many of us in this world. I'd gladly beat them up if it helped you."

"That oni is behind the whole plan ? What did she say ?"

"Nothing." Dia replies.

"What method should I use on them ?" I whisper in her ear.

"Your method."

"Very helpful."

"I know, thanks." she claims facing me with a tiny smile.

She takes care of Plutaria without me having to say anything and I turn in the girl's direction, staying calm and trying to understand.

"What are you planning ? Is it just you two ?"

"Just... us. We came to... give... a message."

"You're really a lowly scum for using drugs on me." I tell her.

She ignores it, doesn't even acknowledges it.

She has her pink hair being under the shadow of the tree she is stuck with.

"Conceal your identity at once."

"Doesn't. Matter. Anymore."

"What are you really plotting for ?"

"We... want more... of the land."

"You tried to kill me, so forget about that ever happening. I'm not letting a sow enter my country under any circumstances. Get out of my sight and never come back because hell awaits you." Plutaria claims fainting an innocent smile.

"Hell is nothing... We onis, are very proud of our main lands, we want territory for our family."

"In your dreams. You're aiming for my whole family and even my friend here. Lucky bitch, you're gonna live long enough to say my message to your people."

She takes a deep breath and shuffles.

"It is I the Princess of Darkness, the beloved Plutaria Nekretia. To all of you guys... go fuck yourself, rot in hell and don't ever dare to attack us." she coughs very heavily after that long talk and gives the oni a punch on the throat and sleeps, the sickness keeps going even now.

The oni fakes her sleep, I want to make her talk but she remains silent even if I ask her random questions, it makes me unconfortable so I take her glasses off, that's when she opens her eyes and tries to impale me with her horn since I am close, I dodge as fast as I react.

"Do you need the glasses ?"

"Yes..."

"If you want your boyfriend to come back to your land in one piece, find a cure for my friend."

"Never... We. Never. Bow. To. Anyone."

"I'm not asking for you to bow. I'm asking you if you care about these glasses."

"I do."

I'm about to break the glasses and she doesn't even move a finger, she doesn't care at all.

"How do you use them ?"

"They are just decorative."

"How do you feel about losing to a single person while you were with your boyfriend ?" I ask trying something new.

She stares at me the same way I stare at her, she keeps staring like I do, she even notices about my eye.

"I pity you."

She close her eyes and doesn't talk ever again, her boyfriend doesn't talk either when I question him, they are both committed to each other and to her family, it makes me feel incredibly sick. I want to hurt them, I want them to feel the pain I had to go through before being here where I stand today.

I leave this place with only one idea in mind, meeting the witches that I had left at the Whiteheart shop, I'll do anything I can to stop what these two traitors of the Land of Dreams tried to do, I'm all alone now. That's perfect, this time I will win no matter who is in my way, I will make the witches help me defeat the witches.
