Hazel liked this part of the palace, the quiet corridors… the guards, who pretended they were not there to give them privacy… this serene night… the cold night wind that blew against her face… And above all of that, she loved when Micah carried her like this.
She felt special, this almost felt like a dream. She had never imagined that she would wear a beautiful gown like this and have a king of her own, walking down palace corridors under the moonlight, before climbing the stairs toward one of the towers in this palace.
"What do you want to show me?" Hazel sounded excited, as Micah took her to the top of the tower. It was a good thing that he took the initiative to carry her, because she was not sure they would make it in time if she were to climb so many stairs by herself.
"Something that I was not able to show you on your birthday," Micah replied.
