The Royal Palace, Country B
Cedric arrived at the Royal Palace using his private helicopter. It was already night when he arrived and Assistant Sean, his father's personal assistant, was waiting for him at the door.
"How is my father?" Cedric asked as soon as he saw Sean.
"He's conscious and is waiting for you," Sean answered and looked at Will who was behind Cedric.
"Hello, dad!" Will greeted his father with a wide smile to which his father simply nodded.
Cedric rushed to his father's room and saw him lying on his bed with an IV drip. When King Lucas saw him enter, he immediately dismissed the medical team who were monitoring his condition.
But Cedric asked their family doctor, Dr. Cain, to stay.
"There's nothing to worry about, son. I just passed out from fatigue. Good thing that it happened while I was inside the Palace otherwise it would simply worry the public," King Lucas said.
Cedric frowned and said, "It's not a good thing to faint, father. Whether it is inside or outside of the Palace. I'm sure the Prime Minister has planted his spies everywhere and The Royal Palace is not exempted."
The intercom rang which was answered by Assistant Sean, after which he looked at King Lucas and said, "Your Majesty, Miss Olivia is here."
Doctor Cain chuckled but immediately pursed his lips when the King glared at him. The King was actually not that sick and the news about him passing out was exaggerated to force Cedric to visit him as soon as possible.
Lucas wanted Cedric to meet Olivia and get to know her but his stubborn son was always refusing him. So he made an elaborate plan and pretended to be sick in order to get him here because if Cedric found out he was called to meet Olivia and that his father was not really sick, he would leave immediately and would not talk to his father for a few months.
Will, on the other hand, wondered, "Huh? Olivia?" He then looked at his father and His Majesty questioningly.
"Son, I can't see her in this state. How about you go and welcome her instead?" King Lucas suggested then he looked at Assistant Sean and said, "Inform her that Cedric will host her instead of me as I'm in an important meeting."
Cedric suspiciously looked at his father but did not comment on anything. He looked at Will to instruct the latter to see Olivia instead but his father understood what he was trying to do and scolded, "Why are you being rude Cedric? Olivia is your childhood friend. It's been a long time since you two saw each other so why not meet her and have a talk. Who knows? Being around the people you knew and who knew you may help you regain back your memories."
Cedric heaved a sigh before he stood up from his seat. But before he left the room he looked at his father and said, "I will make it clear once and for all father. I will decide who I want to be with and I have already found her. So I hope you will not scheme behind my back because you know you will just end up getting disappointed."
King Lucas was left speechless as he watched his son leave the room. Meanwhile, Will was just quiet by observing the three men, King Lucas, Dr.Cain, and his father, keenly inside the room. Cedric brought him since he also had a task to do.
"Why did his personality change so much? Before, he could not wait to see Olivia. So much so that he kept on bugging the poor woman even when she was abroad for her studies!" King Lucas grunted.
"Your Majesty, we need to be patient with him. As I said, it could be the effect of that incident a year ago. His current personality might just be an alter ego. With his case, it's really hard to predict what would happen so we can only hope that his memory returns.
What ultimately matters is that His Highness The Prince is alive, healthy, and in a good condition." Dr. Cain said. He had tried many means to treat the Prince but none of them worked. It was as if there was a barrier in his mind preventing him from recovering his memory.
Will frowned as he listened to their discussion. If his guess was right then it looked like these three men were also not aware of Cedric's doppelganger.
He gulped when the King's gaze turned into him.
"Who is that woman Cedric is talking about? What does she do?" Lucas asked him.
Will grabbed his tablet from his bag and showed it to the King.
"Her name is Brione Yu, Your Majesty. She is an international sensation and a known celebrity who is very good at acting, singing, and dancing. She's also from a rich family…" Will introduced singing praises for her continuously but stopped when The King motioned him to stop and took his tablet to look at it himself.
"And this woman is staying on Cedric's island, am I right?" The King asked.
"Yes Your Majesty," Will replied.
"She's really beautiful. No wonder my son is smitten by her. But the question is, can she be a good partner to Cedric? Is she capable of living not only as his wife but also as a Princess and a Queen? I can guarantee that Olivia has all these qualities and I'm confident that she will be able to support Cedric in the national duties of The Royal Family." The King firmly stated.
"Your Majesty, if I may speak please?" Dr. Cain requested to which King Lucas nodded.
"With the Princes' temper at the moment, I don't think it is a good idea to pursue this matter. Why don't we wait and see how the Prince handles things first. Let him spend time with the woman he wants and watch how it progresses. I also believe you should meet her personally to see and judge what kind of a person she is. I'm sure when you talk to her you can get a grasp of her character as a person."
Will nodded his head in agreement with Dr. Cain.
He cleared his throat then spoke, "Your Majesty may I add to this?"
When the King nodded, he said, "According to the reports and also by my observation so far, Miss Brione has a natural charisma which attracts many people. His Highness The Prince is very confident that Miss Brione is the only woman for him."
"We will see what happens. I'm sure Cedric will remember something once he finally sees Olivia in person and talks to her again just like old times.
Will shook his head helplessly because he knew that there was a big change in Cedric. Yes, it was true that Cedric had set his eyes on Olivia and had decided that he would marry her when the right time came. But that was all in the past. After the accident, there was a 180-degree change in his behavior, especially in terms of his preference for women.
