Kiras "Tailed" Journey

Have you ever questioned yourself why your viewpoint was just a bit different from everyone around you ? it didn't really matter much that those people grew up in the same environment as you, maybe some had a bit more luck in life, others potentially had it even worse, but regardless of situation was it almost always like your opinion was someone looking in from the outside even when you were supposed to be in the middle of the crowd. Those questions, had been nagging in the subconscious of kira most of her life, she often stayed quiet as everyone around her seemed more like enigmas oblivious to the obvious yet oh so prideful, and taking up the fight trying to explain her viewpoint was often not worth it. Turns out there was a reason for it, and her soul was rescued just in the nick of time by a certain celestial someone who had noticed her, before the automatic system put in place to ensure normalcy kicked in. This is Kiras tale, her journey, her experiences and growth in a new environment. ---------------------- hello there, I'm an author with a frail self esteem so please be kind to me! hah just kidding that thing got murdered a long time ago, Names Nyx, and I just so happen to have decided to finally write a bit completely disregarding my ineptitude at this stellar art A : I've always been horrible at grammar and I'm writing this from my phone B : English is technically my 3rd language so small hiccups are likely to creep in otherwise, enjoy!

Homesickness

First Kiras perspective, then shifting between Inari and Chaos.

########

Kiras perspective:

Kira pondered what Yin had said for a while and decided to let the subject rest for now, she had been living amongst humanity for the entirety of her old life and had been able to still distance herself to a certain degree allowing her to both pay attention to the positives and the flaws, hence she felt she likely had a good shot of giving a fair explanation that might enlighten Yin a tiny bit as well as remove some of the very clear fears and mistrust she was showing.

Kira could hardly blame Yin as humanity definitely sits on the top of the pedestal of races you need to pay attention to when it comes to the potential for being mislead and backstabbed.

Kira and Yin was walking at a decent speed towards the main shrine Kira had first woken up in and as they got closer she couldn't help but feel a tightening in her chest, the feeling was slightly foreign to her it was almost like the Shrine was calling to her, and her desire to return inside of it only grew she got closer.

Kira had never once expected to experience homesickness, at least that's what she expected it was.

Kira had grown up in the foster-care system and bounced around as the families had unfortunately been abusive in several different ways, but as a result she had grown up with a rather strong desire to be anywhere but home, and had herself spent large amounts of time growing up in local libraries, it was actually the main reason she ended up pursuing that path as she wanted to offer the next generation what she herself had been privileged to have.

Kira had a brief moment where she couldn't help but ponder what had happened to the kids that she had left behind, she didn't even know if she was considered dead or what had happened in her prior life, her attachment had been rather fleeting with nothing really truly holding her there so she didn't give it too much thought, and Jane who happened to be her former Co worker was just as capable as she and had understood where the kids came from and would ensure they were taken care of as well as they could within their limits

Inaris and Chaos point of view.

Timeline: After Inari left the Shrine

########

Inari had been going out of her own skin and fur in her own realm since last contacting Kira.

After she returned had some of the other deities specifically Chaos been nagging her about Earth showing Spiritual interference from Inari, all the other higher beings had accepted her statement of watching earth seeing the unjust treatment of Jack and lost self control, as it was no secret that while none of their new realms was perfect and each of their own sub realms while governed by themselves had flaws, specifically the sub realm would the perspective of what was a "healthy" realm differ as much as their personalities did.

and while all of them agreed the new realm they created after "Earth" was far from perfect had they managed to negate many of the flaws that the original earth had, that said Chaos had unique control over the laws of the subatomic structures that creates the building block for most worlds, so unlike the rest of the deities had Chaos been keeping an eye on earth, mainly so she ahead of time could prevent any developments that earth had managed from ever happening, she had even gone as far during her argument against allowing the building blocks for what would become the atomic bomb from ever being accessible again, initially had most argued that the bomb only happened because it was the earth realm and every soul was degenerate and couldn't be used as a metric for how other races would utilise the discovery.

in the end did Chaos end up creating a new linked realm in a pocket universe where she brought human from earth with military background

resources for most of their weapons and copies of what their base had access to, and did the very same for the other beings from different realms sent there for punishment, might seem cruel but this test realm was basically compromised of earth humans, and various races from both their personal realms and the main realm

long story short, the humans eradicated themselves, the other races figured out how to take the weapons of the earth humans improve them further with magic and effectively erased all life, following that the vote to remove the possibility of nuclear fusion of particles went trough and Chaos had worked tirelessly for roughly a century to come up with a way to remove it while keeping the rest of the universal laws in balance.

Chaos wasn't nagging Inari out of true concern for her action, but Inari had been one of the few who like her had held out hope the longest for the original humanity and had further been supporting while she was doing her best to prevent their new realms inhabitants of repeating the mistakes of what in spirit would be their ancestors.

hence unlike the others was Chaos well aware Inari had been making up excuses for her actions but she couldn't quite figure out why.

while Chaos had not been admitting it openly was she a tiny bit hurt the one person she considered the closest to a sister was hiding things from her.

while you could argue Gaia and Tartarus who had been her clansmen should be equally close did they have their differences which had resulted in a certain professional distance from each other, which had only gotten worse after they had to give up earth, Gaia in particular had secluded herself for a long time as a result, and Tartarus had taken the typical male approach of pretending to be stoic about it all, yeah it was no secret it didn't go well, Chaos couldn't help but suspect the only reason they had managed to get trough it was because they needed to be there for their children, doesn't really matter how old they get your child will always be your child and you will do everything for them regardless of the cost.

that was when it hit her, Inari didn't have any children, she had been alone, yet she had been just as passionate and been lending her who technically had plenty of support what little she could give, no that settled it regardless of what Inari had done and the reasoning behind it Chaos was determined to be the pillar of support and help out, she just hoped it was something within her capacity to help with.

Inari was getting desperate, Chaos had essentially been around her constantly watching her every move like a hawk, and she had refrained from contacting Kira again trough their connection as she had sensed that Kira had needed space to come to terms with everything, it wasn't before the next day when she had felt the connection cut, and she had outright panicked, at this point she didn't give a Shit about Chaos being around, and went straight to her scrying pool, and opened could only gasp as she watched Kira in the motion of collapsing, after watching what was clearly Kiras artificially created ego take over and ask for a separate room Inari had burst straight back to the gate and was ready to interfere, there was no way she was letting Kira get hurt, she would even be willing to remove her seed if that was the required action.

meanwhile Chaos had been following the sights in the pool and slowly putting 2 and 2 together, she realised that Inari had gotten herself a daughter, the action and the secrecy suddenly made a lot of sense, the seed had likely not merged fully yet, and by the looks of it was the small adorable silver copy of Inari having some issues in relation to allowing the seed to merge properly.

Chaos could only imagine her own reaction if that had happened to any of her kids, and she had already promised herself to help Inari with what she was struggling with regardless of the issue, she had however been positively surprised seeing such a joyous occasion of Inari who had always been alone finally being granted a daughter to call her own.

Chaos managed to stop Inari who had been rushing straight for the gate and was likely about to act with very little forethought, hell didn't she realise that visiting the realm twice in a span of days would attract attention, and that attention would likely land on her daughter, Chaos couldn't even imagine how strong the soul had been to be able to inhabit Inaris seed, not all the deities was equal, and to be able to host her seed would be extremely rare, probably something close to her own children, she had been relatively safe as she had Gaia and the others to keep watch and protect.

"Listen up Inari, if you go now will you only attract unwanted attention to your daughter, as it isn't like you to visit the realm that often.

If you want to do your daughter any favours then trust in her and let her overcome her difficulties, if she was strong enough to handle your seed in the first place there is no way she won't overcome whatever is causing this right now, have patience and support her from the side for now!"

Chaos had practically locked her hands on Inaris shoulders in an iron grip while whisper yelling to get her to see sense.

Inaris eyes glazed over for a bit before she shook herself back to her senses, it was a new thing for her to loose her calm, trough the last millennia did she not recall a single instance of acting up and giving in to emotion opposed to relying on calm logic, she hadn't hadn't been feared for her cunning based on pure happenstance, everyone knew she was usually 5 steps ahead before she ever acted, and she had just been about to expose her daughter to more potential harm, and had most definitely exposed her existence to Chaos, with this realization Inari felt genuine uncertainty and fear, Kira was one of the few souls with the capacity to handle Chaos seed as well if Chaos had desire for another daughter, and someone like Kira could most definitely not be found around a common street corner.

Realising that She had exposed Kira to Chaos, Inari very quickly went on the defensive and was going trough every single possibility she could think of, the problem was that although Inari was technically smarter than Chaos, and they were fairly equal when it came to raw strength was there no contest when it came to support, Inari had herself and the ascended Kitsune, while Chaos could bring Gaia, Tartarus and all their collected children, it wasn't even a contest, Inari wouldn't stand a chance.

Looking towards Chaos with desperation Inari said

"Chaos, I've tried to be there for you especially during the time that was tough on us all, could you please consider letting me have just this, We both know I can't compete, but please allow me this, I've been alone for so long and I Finally got my kin, just for this once allow me to have this "

Chaos looked at Inari first in shock but then in realisation, while slightly hurt that Inari genuinely feared that she would snatch her child away from her, did she also understand that even though her gratitude towards Inari and respect was immense had she done a very poor job of ever showing it, to Inari she was simply yet another powerhouse who could rip her precious daughter away from her if she desired.

"Be at ease old friend, clearly I've done a poor job at communicating this but I consider you as close kin, while it is not like the bond I share with my children do you hold a place in my heart, you helped me back when I desperately needed it, and in return I'm here to help you."

Chaos said giving Inari a gentle smile.
