Chapter 109: Aftermath

Alexander looked around and saw that he had came out of a large hole which was kilometers in diameter. Several deep ravines had formed around the hole. These ravines were several kilometers long and hundreds of meters deep. This destruction made the already desolate planet even more unpleasant to the eyes.

Alexander began to observe his own body and found that his size had increased massively. The city which was built by his subjects was now standing just few kilometers from the edge of the hole blasted in the planet's surface by the tribulation, from it's original distance of 100 kilometres from mountain.

The city itself had not remained unaffected in the tribulation. More than half of the city was reduced to rumbled and rest was also severely damaged. Thankfully, the realm gate had suffered no damages. Alexander knew that his treasury would be reduced by a quite a margin after compensating his subjects but he was not worried about that.

He was lamenting over the loss of his main base in the origin verse. As for what was recovered in the various ruins on the conquered worlds, they were already transported back to his kingdom. Alexander had made a law that everything of value that would be recovered in any campaign would be immediately transferred back to the kingdom. This had given the weaker God Realm cultivators a way to earn contribution points. They acted as transporters for stronger cultivators and campaign teams.

Alexander looked above and saw that dark clouds were still present in the sky but he instinctively knew that his tribulation was over. The clouds were just an aftereffect and had nothing but water in them. Alexander turned his attention towards his subjects and found that they were still standing above the planet and waiting for him. Alexander sighed and spoke to them telepathically, " You can come. My tribulation is over. Also, the city is pretty much destroyed in the process."

Alexander sensed as his subjects moved rapidly towards the city and watched as the clouds were shredded apart by the wind currents created by the movement of trillions of God Realm Cultivators. Alexander watched as an ocean of people stopped a few hundred meters above the ground and surveyed their surroundings in shock and horror, which changed to despair as they thought about the losses suffered by them. Quite a few started to openly cry while others just stonily stood where they were.

Alexander sighed loudly which came more as a loud rumble, which was enough to snap the citizens out of their grief. Alexander spoke up, " The present situation is due to the heavenly tribulation, I had faced. I had not expected that the tribulation would be so dangerous so I had not moved that far away from the city. For this, everyone who was affected by this destruction will be given appropriate contribution points as compensation. Also, the civilian level of everyone present here will be increased by one. As I cannot estimate the amount of damage we have suffered due to this, further compensation will be announced after the administrators and investigators will submit their report to me. I want you all to go and salvage your belongings if there is anything left. Don't try to snatch from others or take what doesn't belong to you. I will personally oversee the recovery process. Now, go."

Alexander moved high up in the sky so that the whole city could be in his view. Alexander contacted The Imperial Punishers and told them about what happened here. He asked them to come to the city ruins and monitor the situation and help in estimating the loss suffered by the empire. After a few minutes, millions of cloaked people flew out from the realm gate. These people excluded an aura of eeriness which made the already gloomy atmosphere even more gloomy.

Alexander watched the five cloaked personnels were moving towards him while the rest started to assemble near the city. The cultivators who were in the city, stopped what they were doing and started to watch the new arrivals warily. A stand off was occuring between the two groups. Alexander knew that he had to control the two groups before, a fight breaks out.

Alexander spoke up, " The Imperial Punishers are here to maintain order and calculate your losses. They will be incharge of the relief campaign also. Co-operate with them so that you could easily get your compensation for the losses suffered by you."

Alexander watched as both the groups break their stand off and together moved towards the ruined city. Alexander turned towards the five people, who were now standing few metres away from him. These five people were the commanders of The Imperial Punishers.

Alexander spoke up, " I want you to strictly monitor these fellows. The rumble has surely misplaced many items. It is a surety that many items have fallen into other's land. I want you make sure that the items get returned to their rightful owners. I am a deterrent but my presence alone would not be enough to control the situation. I have not given them an order backed by my bloodline, it just a general order."

One of the commanders asked, " Your Highness, what is an order backed by bloodline?"

Alexander replied, " The order backed by bloodline is a mandatory order made by me which had to be fulfilled by the recipent at all costs. It's an inherent authority that a king has over all his subjects while the general order is a normal order which can be ignored by my subjects."

Another commander spoke up, " No one will dare to ignore your order, Your Highness. If someone dares to commit such a crime then, we will not let him go unharmed."

Alexander replied, " If such incident occurs in the future, we will first investigate the reason behind such an act and then punish the offenders accordingly. I don't want my subjects to look towards me every time for directions, they should be capable of making independent decisions according to the circumstances faced by them. It does not matter if they go against my orders as long as it does not harm the interests of my empire.

There would be numerous situations in the future where the guidelines and protocols established by us will fail. At that moment, it will be up to them to navigate those situations. Now, go and organise the relief efforts. I don't plan to hide the news about the destruction of the city. Many people will flock towards the city to fish in the muddied water. The amount of claims you will get, will be more than the actual value of the whole city. I will not issue a bloodline order to stop this. This will be a test to know the efficiency of the people working under me."

The commanders nodded and before leaving, one of them flashed a medellion to Alexander, while bowing. Alexander turned serious and telepathically gave his instructions to the commander. Alexander watched as the commander left and thought, " So, the time for monthly update has come. I really want to know the new developments."
