Chapter 10: Return and Sorting through Another Info Dump

As Alexander stepped on his kingdom, he felt an incredible warmth seep into his body. Alexander exhaled loudly and said, " It is good place to live."

Alexander stepped forward looking in the direction of the settlement, his first subjects had made and said, " General Wang, I can see a settlement at a distance of few kilometres from here. You and your soldiers will head towards it with me. You and your soldiers will not take any action against the people there as we don't know anything about them."

General Wang bowed and nodded his acceptance. The protagnists meanwhile, were looking around in amazement. Alexander continued, " Follow me."

As Alexander was moving towards the settlement, he contacted James and Anna to move his subjects inside their houses. The few hours that took them to reach the outskirts of the settlement, was enough to move everybody inside. The reason Alexander did this was because this was his first off world trip, genuinely all of his subjects would be curious about it and would want to know about the foreign world. Alexander did not want any distractions at this moment. He wanted to quickly assimilate the Shangri-La within his kingdom. The information he got after claiming Shangri-La was that he could only assimilate the land after he had entered his kingdom. He just had to place his hand on the pillar and think about the assimilation.

Zi Yuan, " There is no one here. Where is everybody?"

Alexander, "Maybe, they are inside their houses."

Eve, " Why?"

Alexander, " I don't know."

Jonathan, " Then, we just knock on their doors and ask them."

Eve, " No!! We won't do anything like that What if they take it as an provocation and attack us. We will just roam around here and after some time when they see that we are doing nothing. They will surely come out to greet us."

O'Connell, " You are right, Eve.

Alexander and others arrived before the platform.

Alex, " That's a very big platform."

Eve, " I don't think it is made by the people living here."

Jonathan, " Why do you think that?"

Zi Yuan replied, " This platform is carved out from a single rock. When we were moving through the settlement, I saw the tools used by these people and it is not possible for them to make this. The platform and pillar are too uniform and smooth."

Alexander, " Mrs. O'Connell, you are according to General Wang , is a person who is very knowledgeable about the ancient civilizations. Why don't you examine it and tell us?"

Eve just nodded in acceptance and climbed the platform and reached the pillar. She continued, " The method of making this whole thing is extraordinary, I have seen nothing like this anywhere." Alexander watched in anticipation as Eve moved forward to touch the pillar. As she touched the pillar, Alexander could sense her getting bound to his kingdom, all the enemity she had for him was replaced by loyalty. As she got the information that every new subject gets about the king and his kingdom, Eve had an expression of awe on her face. Alexander was curious about this and peered into her mind. Eve was feeling awe at the vastness of the universe.

O'Connell noticing the awe on her face asked, " Eve!! What happened?"

Eve, " This is the biggest discovery of my life. Come up here all of you and touch this pillar and you will know."

The rest of them also climbed the platform and touched the pillar. Alexander felt the same happening to the rest of them. As they overcome their awe, they all turned towards him and bowed, " We are deeply sorry for our previous conduct towards you, your majesty. Please forgive us for our ignorance.

Alexander exercised his control over the land and made a 3 kilometres long track just west of the settlement and said, " I will forgive you all but after some punishment. I have made a track of land just west of here. The O'Connell family will run 200 laps around it. Jonathan due to idiotic comments would run 250 laps. Zi Yuan and Lin, you two will run 300 laps because you are immortal and also tried to kill me. Also, you will run nonstop. Don't worry you will not die, I have made the track special, it will supply with you with bare minimum energy to continue your running but it will not help in anyway in curing your physical and mental fatigue. I am sure you will wish for death at the end of this. General Wang and my soldiers, you will make sure that they will run without stopping or you will run double their laps. But I am not so cruel to send you right away. We will meet my remaining subjects and you will given rest for one night. You will start your run tomorrow at afternoon. I hope that you enjoy your run. After all, running is good for health."

They all paled hearing their punishments. Alexander had stopped their body from healing to their peak condition after they had joined his kingdom in order to make their suffering more enjoyable for him. Alexander then ordered his subjects to come out of their homes. There was one good thing about all this, his conquest would now begin. All the previous actions were just for this moment.

Alexander saw everyone mingling among themselves happily as there is no feeling of discrimination among the subjects, it is a result of king's bloodline. A king has only one purpose that is to conquer other worlds to grow powerful. He doesn't have time to deal with unnecessary matters so all the subjects treat each other as equals in conduct even if they are not equal in position. That does not mean that a minister would not punish a dishonest merchant, he will not oppress others using his position. All the subjects would be given equal opportunities to make their lives better. A farmer's son will get the same quality of education as a Minister's son.

Alexander thought about the information he had received after Lin had submitted to him. As Alexander was going to sort through it , Alex had insulted him and he forgot about that in heat of moment. It was during the helicopter ride that when Alexander was meditating to control his instincts, he had gone over that information. Alexander had a talent of multitasking in his previous life so it was quite easy for him to meditate and go through the information simultaneously. Alexander had found that the protagnists are the people who are chosen by world's laws to help in the progress of the world or to combat something that can upset the balance of the world. Hence, they are protected by world's laws. Alexander was a king but he had not fully awakened his bloodline, so he could only control them partially. He could control their bodies but not their minds. If he had tried to forcefully enforce his authority, the world's law would have deemed him a threat and had tried to eliminate him. That was the reason that he was putting up with them.

When Alexander had claimed Shangri-La, he had attracted the attention of world's laws as Shangri-La was a unique part of the world but the world's laws could do nothing as his claim was legit and their was no one to fight his claim. But the laws would have truly taken action if he had tried to force the protagnists to enter the portal as entering the portal would have forcefully terminated the connection between the laws and the protagnists and the backlash would have weakened the world's laws. So, Alexander planted subtle suggestions in their minds which could be easily shaken off by them if they wanted to do do. But they were all adventurers and explorers especially Eve, the idea of a new discovery really excited her and she became an important pawn in convincing the rest of them to enter the portal. To make Eve not suspect anything , Alexander influenced Jonathan to rile up Eve and in her anger, she did not pay attention to any inconsistencies. Alexander once again took help of Eve in convincing others to touch the pillar as all of them were intelligent and experienced enough to be full of caution against such a strange platform. Alexander had dashed any feeling of caution arising in their minds and filled them with curiosity to examine this strange platform. That's why they had agreed so easily to Eve's invitation to touch the pillar. Alexander smiled a victorious smile at having his plan successful.

Alexander climbed up the platform and touched the pillar. As he touched the pillar, he saw the connection between the two lands and willed the assimilation of the Shangri-La. At the mummy world, the whole Shangri-La rumbled and simply vanished. What was left behind was a small cave which only had a portal. As the portal could be only established on conquered land, Alexander did not assimilate a small part of land so that the portal to that world would not be destroyed. The land of his kingdom increased by 10,000 square kilometers. Alexander combined the pool of life and the sea of water below it with the source of water of his kingdom which was deep below the northern mountain ranges. Now, Alexander had to place the mystical forest and animals somewhere. Alexander put the forest beyond the northern mountains and used the mountains of Shangri-La to form a natural enclosure and put the forest and animals in it. After that he made a tunnel through the northern mountains. Alexander planned to use this place as a vacation spot. As for any benefit that could arisen from that forest, Alexander was not interested in it. In this vast universe, there were bigger benefits than this. After the full assimilation, Alexander gained tremandrous amount of King's might. Also, Alexander received some benefits from conquering the Shangri-La.
