Past and Present

"Well, what do think about the whole ordeal, of this war, Like any opinions on why do fight with Asphodel and not other nations."

The conversation between Levi and the young foreign soldier began from the history of the country and was now at the point where they talked about their opinions and ideas on the war.

"I hope to support my birthplace and reunite it to make a nation like it was before, that's all I have as motivation."

"Humm....., that seems to be a lie, a PERSON with the rank of captain and in direct contact with the commander can't be just be holding on to such small values. I think you should tell the truth."

Levi had a small smile, he was impressed by the skill of the boy to read other people.

"Well you caught me there, I have my reason of be here but it's not like reuniting the country into one is a lie. My motivations stem from my pictures."

"Pictures?"

"Well, my parents are people who sing songs and play music for earning, I was gifted enough to be born to them, so I received the gift of drawing. My uncle was pro-antimonarchy and went protesting."

"Ohhh!, It seems totally like the backstory of a boy from a famous book or something. So, what happened next did your parents get executed due to your uncle's acts or something."

The boy was immediately excited and intrigued about how bookish Levi's story was and started predicting future events.

"Don't get ahead of your self they are both alive."

"Oh, sorry."

"So, I was asked by my uncle to draw pictures of the flags, symbols, moments, ideas, all of them. I met a lot of people during that time. Maybe that is what got me here. The idea of a united country.

"Why did a kid like you have to draw things like that, weren't their other artists during the moment."

"Well during that period the artists and other communications were under heavy surveillance, many were caught by the army thought monitoring artists and catching people they met."

"So, they relied on kids to do their work."

"It wasn't just me doing all the drawings, there are people who drew a lot more and were a lot more important than me. I think my work didn't even make any proper significance."

The conversation had opened the roots to the person Levi was, a patriot made by seeing other people trying to see a better world and fighting for it.

The two had already reached their location and now were standing there waiting for the other people to regroup.

"Well, we have talked long enough, but can I ask you a question?"

"Ohh, so are asking questions to know, well ask anything and I'll try my best to answer."

"What is your name?" Levi asked in a goofy mocking time.

"....." The boy gave a dumbfounded expression at the fact that the two hadn't told each other names and had a really deep conversation about Life and what else.

"Tenbris Quid, that's my name."

"Tenbris... That's a cool name, 'incoming darkness' that's what it means right."

"Ya, I still don't understand why my father named me this but it's not something I can do anything about."

"Well, tenbris why are you here? I don't think you are even here, I don't think you have light motivations too. If you stand beside me right now."

"Well, My father and mother are both war veterans, my mother is a strategist and my father is a direct combat soldier. That's pretty much enough of an explanation, I guess."

"You have a good family experience backing you there, But why did you become and cartographer and support, you should have been either the front combat soldier or strategist."

'Well, my understanding says, ' until you don't see the battle for yourself, you can never make the best decision.' and ' to make the decision you should be alive."

"Well, that's a terrible way of thinking in war situations for a strategist, like one ambush and you die."

"I always have countermeasures placed before anything, I have survived 11 live battles till now, this record will keep on increasing over time till I retire."

"That's a lot of confidence in your skills, hope you can make it."

Fun fact- Tenbris actually loves eating jelly and eggs.
