Chapter 8: Hurricane

Autumn was disappointed. She didn't want to fight her own flesh and blood to a battle of life and death. She was to hurt to know that she had an evil father. It made her wonder if her father was the cause of her mother's death. And in her heart she knew the answer to her question. But her thinking about it just made her feel sick inside.

Autumn had pictured what it would be like to have a normal family once again. But that picture faded away slowly.

She knew she was never going to have that chance. She was never going to live that normal life. Not after what James told her.

"I'm so sorry Ms. Relic. Do you have anymore questions you want me to answer?" James asked.

"Yes.....was my father responsible for my mother's death?" She asked trying not to show any weakness in her eyes. But she knew that James could see the fear.

It took him awhile but then he finally spoke.

"Your father made the four kingdoms disagree with each other. That's how the war started. My men knew of this and I had told the Queen before hand. But she wanted to keep you and your sisters safe so she spent her last moments writing the letters and putting you four in the rockets. Your father got to earth before your mother launched the rockets. And as all four rockets left. The planet blow up, killed everyone that was left on it. Including your mother." James said with his eyes closed.

Autumn felt her eyes drowning in tears. Autumn couldn't hold it in any longer. But she wasn't sad and she was no longer disappointed. She was angry and most of all, hurt.

But soon she felt wind blowing everywhere inside the room.

She understood why it was happening but she couldn't control the waves of her emotions. She couldn't just press pause on her emotions anymore.

It's like she just couldn't stop it from happening. But soon she realized that her eyes were closed and that the deeper she goes into her emotions the stronger her power gets.

She opened her eyes and found everything a mess.

She looked down and saw that everyone was on the ground.

"James! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do this." She said trying not to cry.

James struggled to get up. But finally he was on his feet. "Autumn. Most people can't even punch me to the ground. But you blow me to the ground without even touching me. Your mother was right. Your strong. Stronger than me. And maybe stronger than your father." James said taking a quick breathe.

"James I don't understand." She said with a confused face.

"Autumn. Your the only person who can actually kill me if you really wanted to. Your mother was right. You are very special and I can tell that you have a strong future." James said with a smile.

"I thought you said you couldn't read my mind." She said getting even more confused.

"I don't need to read your mind to know Ms. Relic. I can see it in your eye's. I can see the fear and the brightness within you." James said smiling at her.

Autumn couldn't understand what he had meant when he said that. But what she did understand was that she did have fear in her eyes. She had felt more than fear and she didn't like the feeling.

"Autumn, just remember, don't let your father win, because if he does, hundreds of people will die on this planet."

She didn't understand what that ment. She didn't know why her father was trying to recreate a kingdom for himself. Or what he was even planning to do when and if his plan is complete.

But Autumn was so focused on her own fear that she had forgotten about Jason.

"James where's is Jason?!" She asked worried that she had lost him in the mess she made.

" I can hear his voice crying out for help." James said looking around the room.

James and Autumn looked for Jason throughout the tunnels but they couldn't find him.

"Where could he be?! I can't find him anywhere." Autumn yelled with a worried face.

Then the wind started to blow strong once again. But as the wind blow Autumn could finally understand what James was talking about when he said that her inner emotions affected her strong power inside. And she was finally able to see what her true power had looked like. She had no idea her pain was this strong. And at that moment she had forgotten everything. She felt like it was only her and wind in the world. But she knew Jason was out there. And so she couldn't let this one moment distract her.

Autumn took a breathe and felt calm.

"James. You need to read Jason's mind and see what his mind is saying. He couldn't have just walked away without telling me. So someone must have taken him without me or you noticing." She said in a serious tone.

James nodded his head and closed his eyes to focus.

Soon James's serious face had turned into a frown.

"Ms. Relic you're not going to believe this." He said in shock.

"I think I can handle one more crazy thing." She said.

"Ms. Relic.....Your father has Jason. And reading your father's mind. He's not going to give him back so easily, not without bloodshed." James said looking down at the floor.

"Ok. I've had enough of my dad's crazy threats and over the line actions." she said with a serious tone.

James had a shocked face "Your dad knows I'm reading his mind. He said if you want Jason back, join him. If you don't...he will kill Jason."

"How did he even know where I was! Isn't this whole place secret from everyone, even my father?!" Autumn said with a scared face.

James looked disappointed in himself "Ms. Relic I need to tell you something that I should've said sooner."

"Don't tell me you had something to do with this." She said is a stressed voice.

"Actually Ms. Relic, I do. Your father was apart of the Woods Men a long time ago. He was a close friend. He wasn't one of us, he couldn't read minds. We found him lost and hurt. So we took him in as our own. But we didn't know he had a dark side of him. We just through he need some help to get on his feet. But as he got older, on every mission we had he would just sit there and smile at all the screaming people who were hurt and covered in blood. We didn't know what was up with him. And somehow we couldn't even read his mind."

Autumn balled her fist "What the hell! So you were the cause of my evil father! That's great! Now I can't trust any of you. I'm not joining your little secret group. I can't join something I can't ever trust." She said walking away with all of the angry inside her.
