15. The Fall

A year has passed with the Long Family who have building up all their property, not only that all of Lingxu companion including Taidu has been making a steady progress

with Yue also training in the same archery manual that have been used to train the Archery unit the future of the unit is looking great

Heilong unit has been training nonstop preparing for an upcoming war both from the inside of Qin or outside threat that might harm the state

another pressing matter is a bandit camp near the jurisdiction of the Heilong Unit while it was outside of the Unit area of defense its just around 10 minute ride until the unit see the camp

Lingxu decided its also their duty to purge the camp has ordered the Dragon eyes to scout the area with the reason of recent report that the one inside is not a normal Bandit but an ex 2000 man General and bunch of deserter from all around the place

Numbering around 800 man in total such a big group needed an army to subjugate, and with the specialized nature of the bandit, make it harder, and that's haven't counting the fact that the area is a mountain cliff with only one way in

the task it self seems impossible to do without a high casualty rate or even the rate of succeed which getting lower by the day and more info they got

so Lingxu decided that he will need to lead the man himself, and not only a bunch of militia or even soldier in training, he immediately sent 1200 Heilong Infantry with Feng and Juton accompany him

gathering at the bottom of the hills, the bandit notice them and immediately closed the gate of its camp, and that information did not only reach the bandit but also Lingxu from the camp below the mountain

Lingxu having heard the word, decide to camp for a day and slowly walking up incase there is a trap along the way with the tension increasing knowing all that info didn't help so Lingxu ease his man

"Heilong, the one who lead you to battle today have the surname Long, so why are you guys seems to tremble so much? I hope all that trembling is because of excitement and not out of fear" said Lingxu calmly

instantly when Lingxu utter such word, all the eyes of the Heilong infantry changed into a ferocious beast ready to face death if their lord ordered to do so

after 3 hours hike, the Heilong infantry arrives near the camp gate, seeing it they saw that the man in the wall is quite trained and not just some greedy and cruel bandit

Lingxu ordered the man to rest for an hour, after an hour has passed, Lingxu ordered the man to go forward using the shieldwall formation

they intentionally bring 200 archer out of the 1200 man to use as a cover fire against the enemy

with a thousand man walking up steadily and 200 archer firing against anyone who peek out of their wall, the Heilong unit managed to reach the wall with only losing 2 archer.

taking out the gate breacher that they carry, the heilong infantry unit are ramming trough the wooden wall bit by bit the wall start to crumble with the bandit inside trying their best to hold it in place

after about 5 minute tussle against the wall and the man who throws stone at the unit finally the wall get broken down what await after is bareage of arrow infront of the gate

9 soldier got shot some are injured badly and some even died on the spot

Lingxu having see this instantly order his man to again use shield wall formation and steadily chips trough them, the Bandit leader seeing the resilience of his enemy

ordered his man to charge at which in such a small space the Heilong is getting hold back but still pushing bit by bit

while the front are occupied with the bandit who is charging, on top of the wall, the Bandit threw bunch of boulder crushing anyone who is in its path

after gruelling battle the Heilong unit finally managed to gain a foothold inside the camp, having knew that Lingxu ordered the man to charge at the Bandit while he leads them infront

the whole battle just to gain a foothold inside the bandit camp needed around 100 man sacrifice which is quite a lot with the pure speciality of the Heilong infantry known for their resilience

all of that is because the exhaustion of hiking the mountain and also the tight space of the gate, and also Lingxu lack of siege experience, even with his genius mind, Lingxu is once again get slapped by the fact that he is but a human

Lingxu not wanting to lament on his regret on failing to lead his man, charge forward together with Juton and Feng slaying anyone that dares to oppose them

after about 20 minute into the fight, the fight is almost over, with Lingxu facing against the Bandit Leader the ex commander of an army with 3 people assisting the bandit leader

Feng and Juton are occupied with fighting 6 people on their own even so, all three seems to be winning their fight as slowly some soldier walk and try to help them

but when Lingxu is focused on the bandit Leader, an arrow come straight to him at which Lingxu managed to deflect, but that moment of lost focus make him vulnerable

one of the Bandit Lieutenant slice trough him, Lingxu hold him of but still get slashed on his shoulder, following that the bandit leader stab him in the stomach with the other bandit lieutenant slash intending to cut his head

but Lingxu at the same moment kick him and swing his Glaive killing Both the Bandit Leader and the lieutenant who just gushed him on the shoulder

while having such a big injuries Lingxu still holding on fighting the Bandit Lieutenant toe to toe whilw juton and Feng screams clearly worried at their lord making them lose focus and receiving injuries in the process

Lingxu saw this "FOCUS, CLEAR THE ENEMY DON'T *COUGH* WORRY ABOUT ME YET" scream him

again having another bout with the lieutenant of the bandit camp Lingxu got shot by 2 arrow one on the back and one on the legs which make him stumble, having saw this the Bandit take the chance to cut him down but Lingxu drop his glaive and in a swift motion draw and slain the Bandit using his sword

at the same very moment both Juton and Feng kill the last man infront of them and the archer who shot the Lingxu are being dealt with by heilong soldier

seeing their lord in such state, Juton rage slamming his head into the ground kneeling "MY LORD, FORGIVE ME LORD PLEASE STAY ALIVE AND PUNISH ME FOR MY INCOMPETENCE" Shout Juton with a bleeding head and tears in his eyes.

Feng only saw this scream at the Heilong man who is still in combat "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU IDIOT DOING, GO AND KILL THEM ALL BEFORE I KILL YOU MYSELF" not knowing at who he should be angry at

and all the Heilong infantry seeing their lird in such state rage are evident in their teary eyes "KILL THIS BASTARD, KILL KILL KILL" like a beast released from its cage

with the raging Heilong unit rampaging it only took another minute before they finish everyone off

feng who is still sane even after all of that gave out an order which rare for him to do so, but the dire moment push himself to be a great leader

"200 of you go and loot the place 100 man follow me back to the Manor go and some of you go down and make some makeshift stretcher and the rest of you FUCKING RAZE THIS FUCKING PLACE TO THE GROUND, IF I SEE A SINGLE THING WHO IS NOT BURNED, I WILL PERSONALY KILL YOU MYSELF" he said with anger filled voice
