Chapter 76

Princess Liora was currently looking at the newcomers. She had been traveling back from her uncles to her home in the White Sparrow Kingdom when her group was attacked by knights from the Kokar Kingdom.

Princess Liora was worried because their two kingdoms have been at war for ages. It would be terrible for her and her father if she was captured by these knights. Luckily her protector and one of her father's best generals was here to protect her.

Bushivo was one of the White Sparrow kingdom's strongest warriors and the most loyal. Liora thought of him as family.

The battle was short and Bushivo easily finished off the knights of Kokar. Liora was relieved and very happy to leave the area. She had no idea if she was the original target but if she was then there could be more soldiers and they would need to escape.

She was about to call for Bushivo when the man held out his hand to stop her. She was confused at first but then worried.

"What is your purpose here?"

Bushivo asked a question and faced off to the hillside.

When Liora looked over she saw a group of heavily armored horsemen all in red. They were. definitely knights and ones that she had never seen before. They did not look to be from any kingdoms she knew. They did look fearsome and Liora hoped that they did not mean harm.

The group rode down and directly faced Liora and her group. Liora was still peaking from inside the carriage. Bushivo and his men were all armed and ready to fight. The other group looked calmer and the only hint of hostility was the feeling that the man in front gave.

Liora felt a shudder down her spine when she looked at the leader of the other group. For some reason, the man seemed like a dragon who had killed many men. Even some of her guards looked nervous.

The leader had the same gear as his men but he was holding a huge red lance and his armor have beautiful golden trimmings on it. The lance was unlike any Liora has seen and it seemed like it had some strange power to it.

Liora could not see through the leader's helmet but the group seemed like they were human. Liora was growing more curious about the identity of the group, especially the leader.

"State your business stranger," said General Bushivo.

Liora was unsure what would happen but hopefully, there would be no more bloodshed.

"I am here for the same reason you are," said the leader.

Liora was shocked at how charming this tough-looking knight's voice was. He did not sound like a killer but a king.

"And that is?" asked Bushivo.

"To kill those from the Kokarian Kingdom," said the stranger.

Liora was happy that they were only after the scum from the Kokarian kingdom. Maybe things would be fine.

Bushivo seemed skeptical though and was still alert.

"May I know your identity strangers?" asked Bushivo.

"Isn't it polite to introduce yourself first before asking the names of others?" responded the man.

"Hmmm alright. I am General Bushivo of the White Sparrow kingdom. My men and I were heading back to our land but we got ambushed by these Kokarian scum. Now may I know who you are sir?"

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Sir Bushivo of the White Sparrow Kingdom. I am Sir Kane of the Iron Rose Kingdom. These are some of my Crimson Crusaders. We were after these men but you seemed to have gotten to them before us. I am most thankful for your help though. You made my job much easier."
