It will hopefully improve in story quality and writing quality the more I write so please be patient while I test the waters. If you do not like harem or opmcs or systems then please know this book is not for you. This book will also be slow-paced especially in the beginning. Sometimes in the late game, there will be some fast-paced content. Also please feel free to give me advice about my novel and if there is something you want to see. The last thing is that I do not own the cover so if you own it then please let me know and I will take it down if you want me to.

Chapter 72

Kane was still trying to get his head over the events that had just occurred. He had no idea what had happened but killing a prince was a big deal. \

Kane immediately used the troop vouchers to summon legionnaires. They may be F-rank but they were still very useful to the Iron Peak.

Kane was happy to have them join the garrison but now he wanted to deal with whatever happened with the prince.

He chose 10 Romans to mount his 10 new war horses. He also chose 10 Orcs who had mounts to ride with him as well.

Kane was confident that the group that had fought with Kokars forces was the group led by Okla. Okla was a former orc chieftain who allied with Kanes forces instead of the orc armies. He and his tribe did well during the battle and killed many other orcs. He even convinced other orcs to join the side before the battle started.

Kane had ordered him to take a group of around 20 orcs, 10 crusaders, and 200 goblins to set up hidden guard nests. These nests would be placed in places like treetops to watch the kingdom of Kokars movement. Kane had a feeling it was this group as they were the closest to the Kokar Kingdom and the second strongest force currently on a mission.

Kane hoped that his instincts were right as he had just used his brand new troop locator on Okla. It was a spell that showed a small path of light. Kane and his group followed at top speed. Kane was very curious to see what had happened. It's not every day your soldiers kill a prince. Kane also knew that if the prince was here then it must mean he came well prepared and protected.

Kane's group went fast and only stopped when night came. The group rested for a bit before continuing on. He knew it was risky for his troops to be tired but he wanted to arrive at the area as soon as possible.

The sun was high in the sky and the locator spell was very bright. It seemed that Kane was getting close.

Kane had his group slow down and get off the road. They would travel through the trees in the forest just in case.

Kane looked beyond the trees to the road. He saw remnants of a carriage. It was half burnt while some parts were still on fire. Knights in plate armor littered the ground. So did orcs and goblins. The smell of blood made the low-rank Roman troops want to barf. Being low rank not only made you weaker, have worse skill/training, but also battle experience. They were still green as they were only F-rank.

At first, it seemed that there were no survivors. All was silent. Then Kane could hear some clanging and revolting singing.

He looked behind a pile of dead horses and saw two goblins dancing above a pile of gold coins and juggling jewelry.

Kane walked up to them followed by his troops. This alerted the goblins. They immediately tried to get in defensive positions but tripped over each other and fell over.

Kane laughed at the two goblins. They were dumb but amusing.

When they got up they immediately started bowing and apologizing. They were like toddlers who just broke a vase.

"What happened you two? Are you the only survivors?" asked Kane.

"Yes oh, mighty chief! We kill them all! They no threat to us! Everyone else not as strong so they killed" answered a goblin in its native tongue.

"Okla?"

"Big orc fight the big knight. He was wounded after killing and more pinkies come up from behind and stabbed him. He took them down but was killed by the man covered in gold."

Kane was added at Oklas death as the orc was very useful and had done well in serving him. Not only had he died but his entire tribe was wiped out in this battle. Only two measly goblins somehow survived.

"How did you two survive?"

"When humans start to lose they protect man with gold and we all surround and kill them. They took most of others out though. After the last stand, the man with gold was finally killed by us mightly goblins! He was already wounded but we make it worse. He scream until he finally died. Sadly we were the only survivors after big battle."

Kane nodded and said "I understand. You two will be rewarded. It's a shame that the battle cost us so many lives but it seems you all took down twice as many Kokarians. And that gold you have looks to be worth a small fortune. I find it funny that the prince would bring it with him if he was going to attack us. Part of me feels like he was heading the Crazus Town to forcefully take it and use it as a base camp."

Kane had the goblins give him the gold and jewels so he could put them in his inventory and had some Orcs and Romans make a pile of all the valuable loot.

Kane looked around the battlefield. It seemed that the big knight that the goblins spoke of was the leader of the other knights. Kane also had a look at what was left of the prince. Apparently, this prince was skilled in combat and had taken time to kill. Kane knew that the King of the Kokar kingdom would could crazy when he learns of his son's demise. Kane hoped that Jag and his group would have time to get to the Kokar kingdom before the King went to full-out war.

Kane decided that he would leave the Kokar kingdoms bodies here in the middle of the road. Excluding the prince of course who he had out on a wooden stake. Hopefully, this would infuriate the king.

Kane also had his men clean up his troop's bodies so that the king would not learn of his forces.

When everything was done Kane took off with his men to head back to the city. He would need to send another group to continue making the nests and hopefully, this group wouldn't be wiped out.
