Chapter 117

"There's so many of them!" exclaimed a knight in Kokarian armor. 

"Probably five times our force," said a legionnaire decked out in Kokarian gear. 

"Steady! We will approach as if we belong there. No fast moves, hushed whispering, or looks of worry!" commanded General Fukyo. 

Kane and Fukyo had gathered all of their able troops together and had them play dress up. It took around a day to gather all the armor and do light repairs to it. When all was said and done the group seemed as if they had just been hit by a group of grumpy trolls. It should do the trick though. 

"We are approaching the camp gates. Would Your Highness let me do the talking?" asked General Fukyo. 

"As you wish," Kane said. 

He was slightly worried but trusted the General could get them in. This plan was slightly rushed and definitely headstrong. Kane hoped that once they were in his forces would be able to scout the enemy leaders, sabotage the camp defenses, and prepare to ambush them once the White Sparrow Kingdom showed up for battle. Also, Kane hoped that Anniuus had gathered the White Hand Horde and more of his forces as reinforcements. The plan was they would flank the Kokarian army while he attacked from within. And with the White Sparrow Kingdom attacking in the front and taking the focal point of the Kokarian's attention the battle should hopefully be swiftly won. But Kane knew things rarely went to plan. 

"On me men!" commanded Fukyo, clearly in character. As Kane and his force marched in they were given many looks, none of hostility or suspicion though. The plan was already working. 

"We have been given orders to rest, heal our wounds, and report for debriefing. I've already given my best soldiers orders to spread out and find any weaknesses this camp has. The rest will do what they can to prepare. As for you and me my lord, we must report to the camps leaders. Pretty risky I'm afraid." 

"What can I say? Good soldiers follow orders." 

"Yes, Your Majesty. And we will be those good soldiers. The story is that we had to retreat from the town of Sagga after they sent a large force after us. I was low in ranks but with the death of our leaders, I am in command of this company now. Hopefully, they buy it."

"Only one way to find out. Shall we go meet our hosts General?" 

"Yes, they are just over there in that large tent. I sense someone of great strength in there." 

"As do I. It seems one of the twelve is leading this assault."

"I have not learned this battle art yet. I fear I may not be as helpful in defeating them."

"It is alright I will handle whoever it is."

Both men stopped talking as they went through the tent's folds. Inside was luxury that should not belong on a future battlefield. Gold plates were stacked high with food, a map that showed the surrounding area stained with red wine, and a creature that resembled a poodle. The only difference between this creature and a poodle was that it had one eye and solid gold claws. 

"So you are the men in charge of the survivors from Sagaa. Hmm, I expected better from a group that had the mayor as an ally." 

An enormously large man sat down in from of the luxurious mess, feasting away on an unknown leg of meat. With a triple chin, sweat oozing down his face as he ate, you wouldn't expect much from him but Kane was 100% sure this was the battle master. He had two guards on either side of him as well as three other knights who seemed to be leaders in some shape or form. This was the group in charge of the battle and alright Kane wanted to laugh, he knew from experience that this battle master was more powerful and terrifying than he looked. His battle senses were blaring an alarm in his mind. Peaking a glance at General Fukyo he knew his worries were well founded. The man clearly recognized the battle master was tensing up by the second. Luckily he managed a few words. 

"Yes, Sir Fulbertus their main force had come to reclaim Sagga before heading here. They had powerful allies and together devastated our forces." 

"I had heard the White Sparrow Kingdom has allied with some other kingdom. It didn't seem like anything to worry about but I'll take it into account. Well, it seems you live to die another day soldier. I'm tired now and seek to rest for a while. I uh officially promote you as commander of your remaining forces. Prepare to get your revenge soon. I hear the White Sparrow Kingdom think they can come here and win. Sucks for them I guess. Hey, guard fill my goblet, please. Ugh I hate being away from my beautiful slaves. They would not NEED TO BE ASKED!"

Kane and Fukyo quickly left as Lord Fulbertus had his tantrum. 

"Who was that battle master?" queried Kane. The man was strange but definitely more worrisome than what could be physically seen.

"Your Highness, Lord Fulbertus is one of the strongest of the twelve. His battle art is known as Gourmand's Ressicliiance! The food he ate was plentiful and lavish. The more lavish and the bigger amount he eats before battle makes him more resistant to attacks, physical, magical, or other. In fact the more satisfied he is with his food the stronger he gets and can even be impervious to some other battle arts. Rumor is that he's also a duo battle master but no one has seen the second one. This is why he is the third most powerful warrior in the Kingdom of Kokar. This battle may be tougher than we thought. I would not survive a battle with him and as for you my king I fear the battle may be dangerous." 

Kane believed beyond any doubt that General Fukyo was right. He sensed it in the tent and understood what it would take to truly defeat this Kokarian warrior. This plan seemed even more half hazardly planned and this battle may cost a lot. Luckily Kane had been saving for a while now. Plus the reward for defeating this General could be astronomical. Hopefully. 

"Alright General I must prepare. You are in charge of everything else."

"Yes sir!"
