There, beside him, was a glass of the Kabosu juice that he had not yet finished. It might have been mixed with honey, but the sour and sweet flavor was enough to give the noodle body some character.
Grabbing the glass immediately, he showed it to the old man and said, "Use this. Mix it together with the flour to give the flavor."
The old man was puzzled as he heard the request. It was something unusual, something that he had never tried, of course, he would be bewildered by it. However, it seemed Ahli's confidence that was written with his smile made the old man seem to believe in the end that it would work.
"Okay, then. I'll do it as you said." He grabbed the glass from Ahli, and was about to start making the noodle, when he turned again to say, "But if I take this, what will you drink?"
"Water is fine." Said Ahli in a happy-go-lucky way.
"You sure?"
"Yeah. Don't worry about it. Just focus on the dish for now."
