Daddy doesn't want me. He saw me without love. He didn't care for me.

Where is man? I hear voice but I don't see man.

Man voice is nice but I don't see man. It gives me fear.

Yuse who was now actually in a grown up body with the mind of a 1 year old.

The most he can say is DADA!

All the above conversation was done within his mind. Yuse was too much of a baby to even know the difference between thinking and speaking.

The Candy-bait took effect with the efficiency of a cheese in a mousetrap sprinkled with nuts and seasoning.

He woke up with the silence of a cat burglar and slowly creeped out of the campfire and the gaze of Harridan and Matthew.

He felt as if he were light as a feather literally and sprang away like a kangaroo. He didn't know it wasn't normal for a human to traverse more than a fathom with a single step. He was already crossing twice the norm and was progressing towards a larger distance in every step.

Oddly his footfall never raised so much a noise as that of a leafblade's rustle and was moving without a sound.

He was silently and swiftly moving and in an instant he was away from the anti-float area demarcation and he was swooped up. Rather he was jumping away the whole time and once he was away from the restricted zone he shooted out.

Sort of like a pinball.

The instant he shot up the circumpunct swooped down and resized remaining the same size undistorted by perspective like an optical illusion.

The circumpunct came down and Yuse was looming midair.

Yay! Candy! gove me sweet candy!

Yuse giggled with joy.

[Patience Boy! Here! in a few seconds. Right about now!] saying so the circumpunct lowered. It was almost in a hand's reach.

Yuse was as usual clueless about what was happening

"Gah! Nice voice Man! where is Candy!" spoke Yuse.

"Here you go!"

This time the voice came from the Circumpunct.

From the circle in the centre of the circumpuct to be exact.

The central circle of the circumpunct was perfectly black like a hole. The ring surrounding the circle had a solid look.

Yuse was too busy imagining the size of the candy.

"The candy is inside this portal! come take it." The voice that came from the circumpunct.

"Inside the flat black ball* ?" Yuse questioned.

The owner of the voice was well aware of this fact and said "Yes! right inside the Flat back ball. Quick or I'll eat it all by myself."

"I want Candy! Yuse want Candy!"

saying so Yuse stretched his hands and fearlessly put it into the circle of the circumpunt. It was like a portal and Yuse's hand sunk in like it went through water but didn't get wet .

The hole extremely rapidly shrunk without any space for retreat and the solid looking ring contracted and formed a bangle on Yuse's hand.

Yuse was still hovering in the air. His hand clutching mysteriously at nothing.

"Nice Voice man say false things!"

Yuse began to wail.

He tried to pull his hand away but it didn't budge.

He yanked hard and a pain sped up his wrist.

'Hand hurts where scary man hurt my hand" Yuse was being cute stuggling mid air.

A panicked Harridan was running like mad. He was retracing the path taken by Yuse. He seemed like he was running out of gas. Harridan was not a good runner it seemed.

Matthew was leading the way and Harridan was gasping behind. He was always able to do deal with trouble from afar and didn't need to become a fast runner per se. It was one of the reasons he was bullied earlier in his youth.

Matthew suddenly stopped and called out for Harridan. "Boss! The footsteps end here"

"Would it be five miles since we started running?" An out of gas Harridan called out from behind.

"Boss, It would be only a little more than a mile. I never imagined that boss would have such a weakness." Matthew was bumbling but was wary so as not to piss him off.

"Try running with a long ass sword on your back Missy* !"Harridan growled as he gasped his way through.

"There aren't any other footsteps anywhere around here?" Harridan inquired impaitently. The Father in him was rearing head and he was less of an intimidating swordsman and more of a worried parent.

"The floating restriction end exactly there" Harridan continiued speaking.

"You meant to say some floater nabbed our boy. Eh, Boss?" Matthew spoke.

"Stop rushing into conclusions. I might kill you out of irritation." Harridan spoke as he looked up and saw the sight of a pitiful Yuse hovering and struggling with his hand struck at a height of fifty men standing one above the other.

Harridan jumped up effortlessly. Leaving Matthew in awe.

"You a floater too Boss!"

"Yes I am. Floating makes me conspicuous and the restriction circle restricts my movement too. You can't fly and I wonder why.*" Harridan spoke cheekily and rushed above fiercely with his sword drawn.

His sword was gleaming with a red glow and Struck with full force at something which he thought was holding Yuse.

As he brought down his blow. Yuse began crying of fright. He was already scared of Harridan and who wouldn't be afraid if you see a searing red sword swung at their hand. Yuse was scared and

<Silence>

There wasn't a clang. Not even a gentle tap. The claymore and the bangle were in contact. There weren't a dent on either.

Harridan was astonished. Yuse had his eyes tight shut. He was shivering. His image of Harridan went from unloving dad to frightening monster.

"Ahhhh! Waaaah!" Yuse cried.

"Stop crying Boy!" Harridan reprimanded.

"How the heck did you get out here?"

"Boss !" called an alarmed Matthew.

"What's the problem Missy!" asked Harridan.

"Those floaters your friends boss?" Matthew shouted increasingly worried.

Harridan quickly surveyed his surroundings. Towards his right about a thirty armslengths from them. They were flying at a low height. They weren't all that powerful Harridan could make short work of them but they might be a scouting party.

If they were Killing them would give out their whereabouts.

Yuse wasn't budging and was wailing like a baby crying for milk and it made them an extra conspicuous target.

Harridan thought quickly and figured that no one knew Yuse and he can kill anyone who becomes a problem.

Harridan rushed away from the scene grabbing Matthew along the way and hid far away from that place. He waited patiently for the events to transpire before him , however they may go.

Sure enough the party that was passing by was alerted of the figure that was dangling mid-air and was wailing like a Banshee*.

"Boss! let's take care of them Boss and then we can hide away their bodies Boss. That way even if they were a scouting party it will be harder for the to figure out it was us that did them in and under*" Matthew spoke hushedly.

"Silence! Missy What do you take me for. Some kind of murderous Psycho. I even took the trouble of lecturing you about the will of the destroyer and the burden of destruction. I don't destroy without consideration. The last time I did it I had to pay a hefty penalty." Harridan was solemn and resembled a lion standing lazily in the sun.

He spoke those words without emotion but at the same time those words seemed to have considerable weight as it bore upon the heart of the listener.

"I have given those people a path for life. Just as I gave a warning to the people who were hiding in those houses. It's all up to those people to choose which path they follow."

as Harridan spoke those words Matthew's eyes shone with pride and worship. He felt that his choice to follow Harridan hadn't gone in vain. He had taken a better path in life.

"Here they come! " Harridan alerted.

Yuse was scared like Hell and was infinitely close to shitting himself.
