Nostalgia

Vali flew out towards the house that Azazel procured at the outskirts around Kuoh. Crashing at the entrance while standing on shaky legs he entered inside.

[Vali, are you alright?] Albion yelled out in concern as the white armor surrounding Vali retracted back into his wings before they faded away entirely.

"...Yeah, huff, just give me a.....sec." Vali groaned out holding in his stomach with a pale face at the thought of the dread he felt a few minutes prior.

Soon, a handsome man with black hair and blond bangs walked into the room with a look of concern on his face, the man wore a tailored blue blazer with a white undershirt, red tie, purple dress pants and brown shoes to complete the set.

He quickly helped Vali stand up straight before asking, "Vali what happened? Where is Kokabiel and Freed?"

"Dead." He replied finally steadying his legs.

"H-huh? How? Who killed them?"

"I-I don't know some little kid in a red hoodie, he almost killed me too."

Azazel's brow raised in not only interest but concern, before soon he dawned on a serious expression since it's not everyday a child kills an Ultimate-Class Fallen Angel, a highly trained exorcist, and almost his own adoptive half-Devil son who wields the Divine Dividing too.

Soon a sinking feeling of dread crawled over his skin...

'Please not him..'

"Vali what was his Sacred Gear."

Vali was unsure what to answer before Albion answered in his place,

[[Unlimited Blade Works.]]

Azazel's face turned a bit pale before he put on a gloomy and depressed expression,

"Fuck."

Serafall bounced towards her room with a skip in her step and a wand in her hand with a cheery smile on her face.

"Hehehe, So-tan, came to visit me~!"

Pushing the door open, Serafall rushed in, tackling Sona into a large hug,

"So-tan! I missed you so much~!" Serafall yelled out while rubbing her cheeks on Sona's face.

Sona tried to regain her demeanor only to fail and become a blushing, flustered mess, "Onee-sama, I need to talk to you about something serious!"

Serafall looked at Sona in the eyes with a pout, "Hmph! Why can't my So-tan ever visit me without something coming up!"

"O-onee-sama! This is serious! Kuoh got attacked, we almost died!"

"—Eh?" Serafall's face froze before slowly changing to a scowl that reflected the cold fury she felt within, "Explain. NOW."

Sona flinched a bit at Serafall's change in additive before explaining, Serafall's face kept changing as her scowl only grew larger as Sona's explaination continued,

"And then, Rias said that they were saved by some little boy who had even caused the White Dragon Emperor to retreat! Ddraig described him like the one that you used to talk about with all those swords!"

"Huh?" Serafall's eyes grew like saucers, "B-tan is back!?"

Micheal sat at the cusp of Sixth Heaven, where all the Seraphs reside. His eyes had bags forming underneath from the fatigue of managing his father's system.

He was exhausted but content since, he could carry on his father's legacy. Micheal finished with his work for the day and was finally getting ready to leave and get some rest.

RING

RING

Micheal looked over at the recently acquired phone he had been given. It had been through the research departments over at Fifth Heaven, making it able to communicate even through the interference of the Dimensional Gap.

Micheal's eyes scanned the caller ID only causing him to feel a bit down as the name displayed gave a high likely hood that he would like have more work, quickly reeling in his doubts, thinking it was worth it as it might be for the upcoming peace conference. Picking up the phone with the name, Sirzechs labeled on top, he answered.

"Sirzechs? Is there something you need?"

"Micheal, I got bad news."

Micheal had a small frown appear on his face before inquiring about the matter,

"What's wrong?"

"Brennus is back."

Micheal's frown escalated further as the tips of his wings flicked black for a moment,

'Fuck.'

——

'Hehehe, I missed this so much!' I thought while my first class airplane seat rumbled along with the air turbulence.

I was headed west from Japan, flying over pretty much all of Asia and Europe, only stopping briefly to refuel.

My destination?

Scotland.

Time to go meet the wife.

The plane touched down at midnight on a Scottish Airway. I quickly left the area and headed towards the Isle of Skye, which was located in the Northwest of Scotland.

I journeyed through the forest reminiscing on times that have passed, when monsters still roamed about. I believe they still exist even in the modern era, but most of them have gone extinct or into hiding.

Now the monsters that appear out in the open are only corrupted stray Devils, but they are pretty much only swept under the rug.

It irritates me how humans are treated in this era, mind-wiped or simply treated as inferior beings with no value other than sacred gears to be exploited.

I usually try to help out people when I can, but I guess I've softened up throughout the years. I'm no hero of justice, but I won't let someone exploit the people I have promised to defend without repercussions.

Ha.....I guess too many of those heroes I've met throughout my lives have influenced me. Truly great men, always exploited by others or ended with a bad fate. Some of my best friends were heroes of legend....I suppose they truly rubbed off on me.

I shook my head, trying to focus on the path I'm headed towards. The nostalgia was getting to me as I headed through the trail I once treaded together through with a younger Child of Light in the past.
