Beyond the horizon, the Ambist Queen stood there menacingly, its mountain-sized body visible from afar.
Three blurry figures approached the Ambist Queen at an insane speed.
Suddenly, above the Ambist Queen, a green-haired man appeared. This man was Jake.
Jake raised his axe above his head, all his strength flowing throughout his body and gathering in his hands.
"Meteor Strike!"
Jake kicked the air to accelerate his descent.
Jake descended like a meteor, his entire body ablaze. He mercilessly brought down his fiery axe on the Ambist Queen's head.
Boom!
An explosion akin to a nuclear bomb erupted. Everything within a kilometer was burned to nothingness, and most creatures, plants, and earth in a 12-kilometer radius were burned to ashes. A huge mushroom cloud towering over 30 kilometers emerged, and everything within a 30-kilometer radius was flattened by the shockwaves.
Hundreds of kilometers away, the huge mushroom cloud was visible. A weak shockwave akin to a breeze swept the city, and brief, weak tremors could be felt in the city.
Jake landed 5 kilometers away from the center of his attack and waited.
Wush! Tad! Wush! Tad!
At this time, Erisa and Seria arrived and instantly appeared right beside Jake.
Erisa, Seria, and Jake stared at the cloud of dust, killing intent oozing from the three.
Two red eyes suddenly emerged amidst the cloud of dust and stared back at them.
"How's the situation?" asked Seria.
"Too weak for a level 10. This thing is weakened by at least 2 levels," Jake replied.
"Fufu, those missiles were effective. I hope they sell them to us. Our work would be a breeze if that's the case," Erisa said.
"Would you three handle this low-budget kaiju? If not, I will," an unfamiliar voice suddenly interrupted.
Erisa, Seria, and Jake jumped away from the voice, creating distance between them and the mysterious voice.
A man in a robe stood calmly while looking at the three people with his eerie green eyes.
"Who are you?" Jake said with vigilance.
"I mean no harm," the man in the robe said calmly while raising his hand.
"Do you think that's enough?" Seria asked.
"I'm a professional Hunter, Eecher Rec," Eecher said while pulling out his Hunter License.
Seeing the license, Erisa, Seria, and Jake lowered their guard. They didn't doubt the man before them anymore. A Hunter's License is the best way to confirm your identity as a hunter because the Hunter's License can't be copied. Only the Hunter Association can make them. Anyone who attempts to harm the Hunter's Assassination will face a horrific curse that could kill anyone, no matter how strong they are. In front of this curse, there is only one fate which is the End. Doing evil and breaking the laws of the Hunter Association will face the same curse.
"We'll handle it," Seria said firmly.
"Ok," Eecher didn't say more and just sat there to relax.
Jake's eyes twitched seeing Eecher's nonchalant attitude.
[Are all Hunters this annoying?] he thought.
Erisa and Seria didn't mind Eecher's attitude and just focused their attention on the Ambist Queen. Even though Eecher looked unreliable, Erisa and Seria knew that wasn't the case. Only Jake had some doubt.
The trio refocus and enter their combat state.
"Front, defender!" Jake shouted.
Upon hearing Jake shout, Erisa and Seria immediately understood what Jake was trying to do. This action was known among the knights, adventurers, and mages as "Role Calling," a common and simple strategy on the battlefield.
"Role Calling," as the name suggests, involves calling your role before the fight so that everyone in your group will know your role in the battle. It helps your group to coordinate your attacks better and form a simple battle rotation and strategy on the spot. "Role Calling" is only used when you don't know the capabilities of your teammates' and opponents'.
"Mid guard, Supporter!" Erisa called out.
"Vanguard, Attacker!" Seria responded.
Everyone nodded their heads and dashed forward.
Seeing this the Ambist Queen responded.
"Roar!" The Ambist Queen swept her hand like a whip, hurling it towards the three annoying ants.
The three didn't stop running and moved forward, ignoring the incoming attack.
Jake's eyes suddenly sharpened, and he leaned forward, then disappeared.
Jake reappeared right in front of the Ambist Queen's face, about to deliver a slash with his axe.
The Ambist Queen abandoned her attack and redirected it to Jake, but before she could act, a line emerged on her hand, and then a river of blood spurted. Her hand fell to the ground, creating a small earthquake and raising a cloud of dust. Her hand was cleanly cut off from her shoulder by Jake.
The Ambist Queen roared in pain and anger.
The Ambist Queen opened her mouth and shot out a concentrated air bomb at point-blank range. Facing this attack Jake didn't flinch and only braced himself for the impact.
0.1 seconds.
The air bomb was shot out.
0.5 seconds.
The air bomb reached Jake and was about to hit him.
0.6 seconds.
Suddenly, a blue rope of solidified mana wrapped around Jake's ankle and pulled him down. At the foot of the Ambist Queen, Erisa was there, pulling Jake down with her magic known as "Sealing Rope."
Sealing Rope is magic that conjures a solidified mana rope that has the properties of infinite extension, unbreakability, and magic sealing.
0.8 seconds.
Jake was pulled out, away from the air bomb's range.
1.2 seconds.
The air bomb continued to move forward, plowing down a trench that stretched to the horizon.
3 seconds.
An explosion of concentrated air erupted in the distance, destroying everything in its path like a nuclear bomb.
"Phew, that was a close one," Erisa said with a mischievous smile.
Right beside her was Jake, whose head was planted on the ground.
"Hey, did you do that on purpose?" Jake shouted angrily.
"Shush! Just quiet down and do your role," Erisa said, making a shushing gesture.
Jake didn't say anything and started working. He grabbed his single-handed axe and swung it vertically towards the Ambist Queen's knees. A huge slash shot out, decapitating everything in its path.
A huge and deep wound was cleanly drawn on the Ambist Queen's knees.
"Roar!" The Ambist Queen roared in pain. She lost her balance and fell.
"Shit! Run!" Jake shouted.
Jake and Erisa hurriedly ran, avoiding being crushed by the massive body of the Ambist Queen.
Meanwhile, Seria took this opportunity to attack.
Seria mobilized her immense mana and injected it into her sword. With great speed, she swung it down. But nothing happened.
Five seconds passed, but still nothing happened or any signs of Seria's attack.
Ten seconds had passed, but nothing happened. Seeing this, the Ambist Queen sneered and opened her mouth, gathering magic to fire another Monster Bomb. But before she could fire the Monster Bomb, the Ambist Queen felt something ominous descending from the sky.
A few seconds later, the night sky was illuminated by a pinkish glow. The glow became brighter and brighter, pushing away the darkness of the night.
The Ambist Queen looked upwards, her eyes shrinking drastically. In her view, she saw a huge meteor falling towards her. The sheer size of the meteor was enough to frighten her monster heart.
The meteor had a diameter of 170 kilometers, a size large enough to call it a large island. A beautiful and pinkish fire covered the entire meteor, and a strong pinkish light was being released from this fire, illuminating half of the continent. In the far corners, this phenomenon is visible to everyone, they all look at this light with various emotions but there is one that is common, which is fear.
