I Thought She Was Joking

My eyes widen when I finally realize where we are. Turning to Malikai, "Is this where Zachary is?" He keeps rambling on this Zachary dude so, he has to be important, right?

Malikai's eyes dull for a moment before answering. "Yeah, he's actually Cloud Nation's Kings Candidate and I his priest, I guess." His voice has a hint of boredom like its nothing.

I gape at his reaction. I guess!? What do you mean, I guess? You really are too cruel brother. Wait a second! "Does this mean I have the ability to become a priestess?" My eyes gleam at the idea.

Malikai bends down and looks straight into my eyes. "No." His answer makes it seem like he's angry. Along with his glare, I get a flick to the head.

I sigh. Why are you so angry? "Why might that be?" A hint of annoyance can be heard in my voice.

Before he can answer, one of the guards at the gate coughs, signalling us to stop. Oh, I forgot about them.

The guard them speaks, "Hey Malikai, who's this little kitten? I've never seen you with any girl and definitely not one this cute." The guard has a bright and kind smile but, I can't help but frown at him calling me a kitten and his flirting. At the very least I'm a cheetah, got it?

Feeling Malikai's grip on my hand tighten, I look up to see him staring daggers at the guard. "Lucas, she's my sister. Back off or you'll never see anything outside the gate again!" I swear I can see his eyes turn red with anger.

Should I say a prayer to poor Lucas? I can't help but laugh at the thought of Lucas being like a certain long, golden haired princess locked in a castle and Malikai being the evil mom. After all, Lucas has the blond hair and green eyes to match the part.

Lucas bursted out laughing right at that moment. "Oh my god, Malikai, your sister even thinks your evil!" Malikai shot him an angry glare before turning to me. Wait, what was Lucas laughing at? A look of confusion and worry clouds my face.

Does she really think of me in such a way? Glaring down Lucas, he jumps in shock before explaining. "It's just a joke Malikai! She only thought you were like the a villain locking me up." His voice shook as he spoke.

"I'm sorry, I don't think your evil. I just thought it was funny." I turn to see Kippy staring at her feet, her expression grim.

Placing my hand on her head with a sigh, "I'm not mad, if anything I thought you might hate me." Rubbing her head, I smile softly before taking her hand. "Now, lets get going before Zachary sends out a search party, again. . ."

Kippy has a moment of confusion before shrugging and nodding before following behind me towards the castle.

Tapping my fingers of the throne's arm rest, I can't hide my excitement. She's here. She is actually in my castle right now. After not seeing her for a decade, I can finally take my fiance in my arms and show the whole world she is mine.

My thoughts are interrupted by the throne rooms door opening. A small figure with pastel purple hair walks in, her expression full of astonishment. "Malikai, this place is huge!" A smile appeared on the girls face and her eyes turned crescent shaped. It's been so long since I've seen her smile. Trying to look relaxed, I place my head in one of my hands.

I couldn't hide my astonishment as we walked through the castle, especially when we enter a certain throne room. The surprising thing was, it wasn't the room that surprised me but, rather the young man sitting at the throne. His eyes sparked when he saw me and his black hair jumped slightly when he got off his throne and headed towards me, wrapping me in a hug.

I push him away. Taking a deep breathe, I ask, "Zachary I assume?" A hint of curiosity teases my voice. At my question, the man's expression turns grim and he shoots a glare at. . .Malikai? Was I wrong?

S-she really doesn't remember. Glaring at Malikai, "I thought you were pulling my leg." I try to hide the disappointment but, it's still quite obvious.

Malikai replied with a nonchalant expression, "I told you she had no memory before waking up after the accident." He then looked towards Kippy and I followed his gaze. It was then I realized she looked confused. Had he not explained what happened?

I watch Malikai whisper a quick notion in her ear before she giving a thumbs up. Placing a hand on my forehead, in a slightly annoyed tone, I ask, "Can her memory be restored?" Unfazed by my tone, Malikai shrugs.

Well, this is awkward. I stare at the two men. One is glaring dagger while the other looks like he's in his own little world. Zachary's way of acting reminds me of Malikai when Lucas was flirting. Also, they dont seem to get along to well. Does that mean the whole 'Opposites attract and similar people don't get along well' thing is true.

My thoughts are interrupted by an unusually warm heat that overtakes my surroundings. I look up to see a ball of literal fire in Zachary's hand. Uhhh. . .I look at Malikai who looks a little uncomfortable. In a fit of anger, Zachary says, "Wanna keep acting like it's no big deal?" A venomous grin appears on his face and I gulp before running in between the two, spreading out my limbs and closing my eyes.

Pulling Kippy back and glaring at Zachary for almost hurting her, I turn her to face me. While flicking her head, "You idiot, I don't care if I get a little burned by that dragon but, you can't do that, got it? I'm a priest and have special healing abilities, you don't." I cant hide my annoyance at her stupidity. She can't control her powers yet she tried that?

Her expression turns sour. "I already told you I want to become a priestess so don't use the priest card!" I can't help but be shocked. I thought she was joking.

Before I can disagree, Zachary answers for me, "Of course, as long as you become my priestess." He quickly wraps a hand around her shoulder and steals her from my grasp. A venomous grin appears on hos fowl face.
