KIN

The kingdoms of Seryad had destroyed their towns, burnt their homes, and cut down the people, leaving Dagon the last surviving Dragon Kin not under the Four Kingdoms’ iron fist of tyranny. For what? Out of fear. Dagon was one of the race called the Dragon Kin, which had the innate ability to commune with and control dragons. The Four Great Kingdoms feared the power of the dragons, and in turn, killed every Dragon Kin and enslaved every dragon they could. But some managed to flee, hiding away within caves, mountains, seas, forests and valleys. But Dagon could not simply stay on hiding. His guardian, a dragon once bonded with his father, would do all she could to keep him within their safe haven, but Dagon wanted to leave, he wanted to avenge his fallen family. But first, he’d have to find a dragon to bond with. But where, where could he ever find a dragon? And so, he would leave, setting his feet on a path laid out and woven in shadows and bloodshed. He would begin his journey to find the dragons, and to conquer all of Seryad. He would become the one true Dragon King. Consuming Hatred

Mourtas sat upon Zickarys's back, watching his soldiers as they moved. Their speed was slowed considerably due to the prisoners they had to transport, not to mention the immense size of the army.

The soldiers' feet were becoming frost bitten and the cold and exhaustion was beginning to get to them. Mourtas found it funny how the enemy may have had a chance against the soldiers due to their condition, yet, they simply watched in idle as the battle went on.

And… Mourtas looked up to the sky at the dragons. They'd managed to claim a new and powerful ally.

"Dagon's presence.. I cannot sense it any longer." Zickarys spoke.

"I noticed as well. He must have left in the opposite direction, out of our range. I wonder.. what could be his next move?" Mourtas grinned. "Not that it matters. The fool couldn't possibly hope to defeat us now that we have this much military strength."

Elmond rode upon the back of the stone dragon, of which he'd given the name Goyle, as it held semblance to a gargoyle. At first, it took some getting used to to ride atop the back of a dragon, but, he had gotten used to it.

He and Goyle had flown across the tundra to the castle that Mourtas's army had invaded, in hopes of finding any survivors he could bring over to his side.

Goyle landed atop a large pillar within the city as he and Elmond observed the utter destruction.

"This… was a massacre. So many dead.. they lost without much of a fight at all." Elmond grit his teeth. He could only hope that Myru would be okay, that she had made out alive. She had to of, considering how much of a one sided battle it had seemed.

"Can you sense any survivors?" Elmond asked the dragon.

Goyle gave a slight growl, then descended down from the pillar and landed by the wall of the kingdom, staring at a collapsed building. Something seemed to of crashed through the wall.

Elmond hopped down from Goyle's back, then began walking over to the building. He began moving rubble and rock aside, until, there, beneath the rubble, were the scales of a white dragon.

Elmond's eyes widened. "Shiratt?"

Above Mourtas's army, a shockwave blasted outwards as the clouds suddenly burst open and a figure streaked out of the sky, soaring straight for Mourtas.

"What?" Mourtas looked up as Zickarys leapt into the air and away from the figure, which crashed to the earth where they'd been.

"Dagon." Mourtas spoke. "I knew you'd be upset, but really? Rushing into a battle you'd lose so obviously?"

Dagon sat atop Sephtis's back, his cold dead eyes glaring at Mourtas. Green energy rose up from Sephtis's body as the dragon's eyes were locked with Zickarys's.

Dagon unlatched himself from the saddle and dropped to the ground. The memory of his own father doing much the same came to his mind… but this time. It would be different.

"Dagon? What are you..?" Sephtis asked, but Dagon ignored the dragon and walked towards Mourtas and Zickarys.

"Like father like son." Mourtas spoke.

Dagon drew his sword and raised it towards Mourtas.

"Get the fuck off your dragon and fight me." Dagon growled.

Even Sephtis was surprised by how malicious Dagon was at that moment.

"And why should I do that instead of just killing you now?" Mourtas spoke from atop his dragon.

"Dagon… let me-"

"Stay out of this, Sephtis. This has nothing to do with you. This is my revenge."

"Oh, revenge is it? How corrupted you've become, boy." Mourtas grinned. "Oh, how sad your father would be to see you like this. Well, fine then. In respect for Ayden, I will accept your challenge. A one on one fight. Don't be too upset when you die."

Mourtas hopped down from his dragon, drawing a black sword and stepping towards Dagon.

"Sephtis…" Zickarys hissed. "I believe that we should follow their example, don't you think? After all… I have a score to settle with you."

Sephtis growled. "Dagon… are you sure about this?"

Dagon's eyes suddenly began glowing with green energy that began to glow around his body.

"Dagon?"

"Fly." Dagon said simply, and then, the earth shattered at his feet and massive spikes of mercury erupted from the ground, bursting across the landscape and obliterating Mourtas's army.

Zickarys and Sephtis exploded into the air, away from the spikes, as Mourtas raised a wall of black energy to block the strike.

'He's gotten stronger!' Mourtas thought, surprised.

As his black smoke fell away, Dagon dashed forward, over one of the spikes and swung his sword at Mourtas, who barely had time to react and jumped away, deftly deflecting the blade.

Mourtas found himself backing up as Dagon, covered in mercury armor, kept swinging his sword again and again, Mourtas barely able to deflect each blow as it came. And then Mourtas felt the wall of the mountains behind him against his back.

Dagon held the sword at his side as he slowly walked toward Mourtas.

"You've gotten stronger, kid. But you are corrupt." Mourtas spoke, his eyes narrowing.

"I don't care." Dagon said in return. "All I care about, is seeing you dead at my feet."

And then, the ground at Dagon's feet cracked as green energy flowed around his sword, and he swung it in a wide arc. Mourtas ducked the attack, just barely, as the blade struck through the mountain, and a moment later….

"KOOM"

The entirety of the mountain range above where Dagon's sword had struck suddenly exploded into mere pebbles, leaving nothing left.

'How…?' Mourtas thought, eyes wide, 'is he this strong… that strength… from a Kin alone.. rivals that of a Dragon God!!!'
