Killing God: Wrath of the First Nephilim

Luke's serene existence in a remote village on the fringes of the Nexaria Empire is abruptly shattered when demonic beasts assail his home, leaving devastation in their wake. Escaping the onslaught, he tragically witnesses the annihilation of his family, leaving him alone in a world marred by chaos. Captured by the empire's forces instead of receiving the refuge he sought, Luke becomes a subject of their experimental machinations, subjected to a fusion of demonic and angelic genetic alterations. Considered a failed venture, he was cast aside, left to die by the very power that was meant to save him. Fate, however, had different plans for Luke. The experiment turned out to be a success, creating the first Nephilim whose wraith will be unleashed on the Nexaria empire— a mechanical empire fueled by science and technology, which was currently at war with the Arcanoria empire, a realm steeped in magical prowess and ancient mysticism. Unbeknownst to both empires, the supreme being, God, has descended into madness—a harrowing omen signaling the imminent demise of the universe itself. In a shocking revelation, it becomes clear that the salvation of existence hinges upon the unthinkable: Killing God. Luke, now a product of both angelic and demonic forces, finds himself at the center of an unfathomable prophecy—a prophecy dictating that only through the death of a mad god can balance be restored to the cosmos. Luke realizes that his destiny is intertwined with the cosmic fate of all existence. ........................... Stupid decision?

The small clearing was now the resting place of many beasts that died in the battle. A place that stunk so bad, Luke could barely breathe, but it was also a gold mine filled with a lot of soul cores.

"Surely, I can't leave all of this behind," Luke said as he weighed the dangers and the reward.

The only obstacle in his way was the heavily injured, yet extremely dangerous beast. Luke stood there in silence as he pondered on how to kill the enemy while assessing the injuries of the beast and thinking of a way to use them to his advantage.

After a minute or two of thinking, plotting, and planning, Luke decided it was time to take action.

"I hope this works out," He said as he picked up two stones.

Luke calmed down as he aimed for a tree behind the beast, and in one swoop he tossed a stone in that direction.

Thud.

The beast immediately turned to the sound, its gaze fierce and vigilant as it searched for an intruder, only to notice it was only a stone. The beast narrowed its eyes, which shone with intelligence unbecoming of a wild animal. It soon began to trace the trajectory of the stone in a bid to find where it came from, but before it could make any progress in its investigations, another stone struck another tree close to the first.

Since it was injured, the beast was far more cautious than usual. It instinctively turned in the direction of the sound once again in a bid to make sure there was no one there.

It was then that Luke made his move!

'Now is my chance!' Luke thought as he sprang forward.

The back of the beast was turned on him as it checked the source of the noise. Taking advantage of this, Luke lunged forward, reaching for the neck of the bear. Just like his last victim, Luke was able to lock his hands around the neck of the beast, however, it reacted to Luke's hands even before he could firmly tighten the lock.

Twisting rapidly to the left, the beast flung Luke in that direction.

Bam!

Luke gasped in pain as he hit a tree, sliding down with a pained look on his face. For a moment, his vision blurred while his chest jerked up in pain, due to the bruises sustained from sliding down a rough surface. Even without checking his injuries, Luke was certain he may have scraped off some skin sliding down the tree.

Heavy footsteps charging in his direction rapidly reached his ears, leaving Luke with no choice but to move. Rising to his knee, Luke was able to see the beast lunging at him.

"Shit!" Luke screamed as he dove to the side, rolling out of the way, barely managing to evade the attack in the nick of time.

While still on the floor, he turned to see the beast's front legs planted on the tree behind him. Without hesitation, Luke's legs swung forward like an axe, striking the closest hind leg of the beast, knocking it off its feet.

Bam!

The beast lost balance and fell to the ground, letting out a groan, but Luke had no intention of stopping.

Using the momentum of a spinning floor kick to spring to his feet, Luke went behind the head of the beast and unleashed a series of vicious punches to the head of the injured beast.

Bam.

Bam.

Bam.

A few punches in, Luke noticed he wasn't doing enough damage, so he changed target to the eyes of the beast.

Bang!

The beast let out a pained growl as it tried to shake him off while rising to its feet, however, Luke had no intentions of giving up his advantage so easily, and he promptly climbed the back of the beast and crossed his hands around its neck, in a bid to choke it out.

The beast growled furiously and began twisting violently in an attempt to shake him off, but Luke's grip was firm and clamped on the beast.

Frustrated, the beast rose to its hind legs, but Luke had no intention of letting go and even went as far as tightening his grip even more. However, the beast turned it back in the direction of the tree, and Luke turned pale in fright as he understood the plan of the beast.

"Shit!" He cursed.

Not daring to waste a second contemplating if he made a stupid decision, Luke began unloading flurries of punches on the head of the beast and its good eye as well. The repeated blows aimed at sensitive spots made the beast stagger, successfully lowering its momentum.

Bam!

The beast slammed its back into the tree, forcing Luke to let out a pained cry. His vision blurred, and it felt like all the air in him was forced out, leaving him gasping for breath.

Luke's grip on the beast weakened, and his arms felt numb, but he struggled to keep hold of the beast, knowing fully well that the moment he fell off the beast's back, he was as good as dead.

Noticing the human was yet to die or let go, the beast moved forward to give enough space for it to gather enough momentum for the next charge.

Taking advantage of the little time spent moving forward, Luke kept punching relentlessly. His fist was covered with blood and his finger's bones shifted out of position. Each punch hurt Luke badly, however his regenerative ability allowed it to heal just as fast as it was getting damaged. However, this was not enough to stop the beast from charging into the tree again.

Bam!

Luke opened his mouth to scream in pain, but he couldn't make a sound. Bone-cracking sounds could be heard upon impact, but Luke stubbornly held onto the beast like his life depended on it because it did.

Thankfully, his healing ability could keep up with the injuries he was sustaining, so all Luke needed was a few breaths to recover enough to keep on attacking the beast.

Bam!

The beast began staggering as the accumulated injuries especially on its hind legs began weighing down on it!
