Chapter 167: Collision With Mayuri

After Aizen's death, the disturbance caused by the Ryoka that invaded the interior of Seireitei was intensified.

Sado encountered Kyoraku Shunsui.

However, because Shunsui deliberately went easy on him, so although Sado was caught in the end, he was not seriously injured.

It was not surprising that Shunsui will go easy on him. After all, Rukia is a member of the Thirteenth Division and the captain Ukitake Jushiro is his friend. At the beginning of this incident, Jushiro had asked him to help him secretly in regards of Rukia's case.

After defeating Renji the previous day, Ichigo injuries had almost recovered with the help of Hanataro, the 7th Seat of the Fourth Division. So, after a night of rest, he continued to go in the direction of the Repentance Palace, and first foe he encountered was Zaraki Kenpachi. After a fierce battle, Ichigo's strength improved on the spot and he defeated Zaraki. He was also seriously injured in that battle but fortunately, Yoruichi appeared in time and took him away.

When Ichigo woke up, he found that his wounds were bandaged, and then he found a strange woman standing beside him.

"Who are you…? By the way, thank you for saving me." Ichigo was shocked at first, and then reacted and thanked the other party.

"Don't you recognize me in this form, Ichigo?"

"Are you… Yoruichi-san? Why are you a woman?" Ichigo asked in shock. When the woman talked to Ichigo just now, the voice was exactly the same as that of Yoruichi (black cat).

"I don't seem to remembering ever saying that I'm a man." Yoruichi looked at Ichigo with a teasing face. 14

"By the way, Miss Yoruichi, do you know how Hanataro is doing?" Ichigo asked.

When he fought against Zaraki earlier, Hanataro volunteered to go towards the Repentance Palace first, ready to help him rescue Rukia, but now he doesn't know what happened to him.

"Don't call me Miss Yoruichi, just call me Yoruichi, or continue to call me Yoruichi-san. As for Hanataro, he should have been arrested by now."

"What?!"

Hearing Yoruichi's words, Ichigo was shocked again, and he was about to get up to go and rescue Hanataro.

But Yoruichi reached out to him and said, "Calm down!"

"Don't worry about Hanataro, as the 7th Seat of the Fourth Division, even though he was helping you, his life will not be in any kind of danger."

Ichigo calmed down immediately, and questioned Yoruichi again, "So, Yoruichi, what shall we do next?"

"You should heal your wounds first, by the way, what is this, why did it appear here?" Yoruichi suddenly asked Ichigo while holding a striped white mask.

"Ah, that, I don't know when it appeared, but it helped me block an attack when I was fighting against Renji. I remember throwing it away, but somehow it came back." Ichigo scratched his head, looking bewildered.

"Okay, I will keep it for now." Yoruichi snatched the mask.

"Although you fought with the captain of the Eleventh Division, don't think that the end of a captain's strength. You must know that Zaraki is the only captain among all the captains who has not mastered bankai."

"Bankai?"

"That's right, bankai, there is another release form of Zanpakuto after shikai, which is called bankai. Only by acheiving bankai can you have a chance of winning against the captains. Moreover, I can tell you clearly that Zaraki didn't used his full strength when fighting you." Yoruichi said with a serious face.

"So what's next?"

"Next, I will take you to a place and give you three days to successfully unlock your bankai. If you can't do it, you won't be able to rescue Rukia and the others. In that case, you should go back as soon as possible, or you will die in vain."

And so, Ichigo was taken away by Yoruichi and went to train to unlock his bankai.

On the other side, Uryuu and Orihime, who have not yet been discovered, hid in Seireitei for a long time. Finally, after night fell, they planned to use the cover of night to break through the blockade of shinigamis and reach the Palace of Repentance. Unfortunately, not long after the two came out of their hiding place, they were stopped by a drunken shinigami.

"Hey, you two, wait a minute, which team do you belong to and why are you in such a panic?"

"Uh, twelfth."

"So it's from the Twelfth Division, no wonder I haven't seen you guys." The drunken shinigami grabbed Orihime's collar and took a good look at her face.

"Hey, come here, what are you running around for. They belong to our Twelfth Division, it's none of your business." Four shinigami suddenly appeared behind the drunken shinigami, and one of them spoke.

"Inoue-san, be careful." Uryuu suddenly shouted, appearing in front of Orihime and blocked Orihime with his back.

Accompanied by a few explosions and a lot of flames, the four Twelfth Division shinigami in front of them turned into fireballs and burned up. Fortunately, Inoue released a triangular shield in time to block the damage for both of them as well as the drunk shinigami.

"It's a shield. What an interesting ability. This is that girl's ability. Why don't you become my research material?" Two figures slowly came out from the shadows, one of them who was wearing a white haori spoke the words.

"Don't move." Uryuu condensed the spirit arrows, appeared behind the figure with Hirenkyaku and pointed at the shinigami.

"Good speed, it's a quincy. It's a rare species. I haven't seen a living quincy for a long time. Are you interested in assisting me with my experiments?"

"Assist in your experiments? Who are you?" Uryuu asked suspiciously.

"When you invade a place, you should collect information carefully beforehand. But oh well, let me tell you, you Ryokas, At least you should know the thirteen people who stand at the top in this place, right?"

When Uryuu heard this, he immediately thought of some information that Yoruichi told them, as well as some things that Kaien, the vice-captain of the Thirteenth Division, said at Shiba's house, and his complexion immediately changed. 

"Inoue-san, run away quickly. Hey guy over there of the Eleventh Division, please take her away, or I will shoot an arrow through your body, hurry up!"

He spoke to Orihime, and the shinigami of the Eleventh Division who was protected by Orihime.

"I'm also going to fight, let go off me." Orihime struggled, but the shinigami beside her stopped her just in time.

Although Mayuri is the captain of Gotei 13, but he even attacked him before. So he didn't have a good impression of the weirdo Mayuri, on the other side, Orihime saved him. No matter what, he must protect his savior.

The shinigami knew that he was not Mayuri's opponent, so he was ready to follow Uryuu's words and take Orihime away.

Then, Mayuri flashed away, and with the help of Shunpo, he appeared next to the shinigami from the Eleventh Division, and incapacitated him with a single blow. With the ability of Ashisogi Jizō, the shinigami's limb movement ability was immediately suppressed. After the deprivation of mobility, the shinigami let out a painful scream.

Uryuu's complexion changed immediately when he heard the cry.

He had seen Mayuri use his companion as a bomb before, and now he saw Mayuri shoot another of his companion, so he became furious immediately.

The reishi arrows were shot by him.

However, Mayuri dodged them easily, and his Zanpakuto slashed at Uryuu without any hesitation.

The experiment about quincies back then fell short because of the appearance of Adjuchas-level Menos Grande, and now he was able to encounter a rare quincy.

Uryuu saw that the shinigami of the Eleventh Division who was slashed by Mayuri's sword, lost his ability to move, so he guessed that it might be one of the abilities of Mayuri's Zanpakuto.

So he used Hirenkyaku to dodge so as to not get injured by Mayuri's Zanpakuto.

This display of quincy technique aroused even greater interest in Mayuri.

Seeing Uryuu dodging, he simply stopped chasing Uryuu and slashed at Orihime who was close at hand.

"Inoue-san!"

Uryuu's expression changed drastically.

Because of Orihime's lack of combat experience, she didn't know how to deal with the sudden situation.

Just when Mayuri's sword was about to hit Orihime, a crimson thread suddenly appeared in front of Mayuri's Zanpakuto, blocking his sword.

"Um?"

Mayuri found his Zanpakuto was blocked.

Immediately, he felt a wave of reiatsu again, and looked in a certain direction, "What, you want to stop me?"

"The death of Captain Sosuke Aizen of the Fifth Division, you haven't got rid of the suspicion yet, do you want to attack me?"

Mazuru walked slowly, his appearance caught the eyes of Uryuu, Orihime and the drunken shinigami.

Uryuu and Orihime immediately recognized that the person in front of them was the first shinigami they encountered after coming to Soul Society, the person who easily defeated Ichigo that day.
