THE FINAL FAVOR

IT'S BEEN 2 MONTHS since I finished my assignment regarding the Delton family. And ever since that day, I told chief Philip that I'll never accept undercover agent assignments ever again.

After the fire left the mansion to ashes, I gave the necktie slash camera to chief Philip, and they immediately arrested the siblings. Catalina, Chance, and Tobias didn't say anything and followed them with no complaints, and the media went crazy over their story. I'm just glad I was labeled as Agent X so no one knew I was a part of it all.

I, on the other hand, had to be interviewed for an entire week. I told them everything that happened; about president Boris, Luis, Dario, and everything else that I found out about the family and about the mansion. Thankfully all my kills were somehow "justified" and I was off the hook, which I believe was thanks to chief Philip. He did say killing someone for the sake of one's mission is part of my job.

A week after the fire incident, the three siblings were sent on trial. And on the day where everyone was ready to receive their punishment, someone arrived and saved the day. Of course, it was none other than Cyrus Delton himself. He was missing for an entire week, and the police were searching everywhere for him. At first, I thought he died, but his body was never found in the mansion. Which secretly relieved me. But with no explanation, he suddenly arrived at court with tons of files and pieces of evidence that point out that they aren't connected to any of the illegal businesses, and it was all because of their grandfather and father.

There was also evidence that they were tortured and exploited, and their aunt Camilla – who originally had the slut punishment – stood as witness. The media also helped with the case because when their story was shared with the public, everyone was with the siblings' side. Even the workers in their company stood witness, telling people that they were great bosses. I guess their roles helped them in some way. So after all that, Adam and Abraham were found guilty even though both of them were dead, and the siblings were freed.

Apparently Catalina was wrong about Cyrus after all. He wasn't stalling me into finding Adam's killer because he was fixing the papers that will transfer all the riches to him. He was stalling me because he had to gather enough evidence to help his siblings when the time came. So at the end of it all, Cyrus did lie, but he lied for his siblings' sake. And I feel like that's a lie that I may be willing to forgive. This also made me realize something else. Did Catalina actually know the truth? Did she just manipulate me into doing what I did so I could finally end it all? Maybe she knew I was too bounded by Cyrus so she had to step in. But whatever it was, I'm just glad it's over.

The trial is still ongoing especially since dozens of people were involved. I stand witness at some trails, but I was never called whenever the siblings were present. That was actually a request from the siblings themselves. They said they felt guilty for what I went through, and they thought that seeing them might anger me, which, of course, was total bullshit because in the span of ten days, I loved those bastards. I felt like I was part of their family too, and they don't have to feel guilty about anything.

"I love you...Elliot."

Ah shit. Why did I have to remember that now?

"Hey, Elliot. Are you even listening to me?" Someone asks, making me snap back to my senses.

I look around and realize that I'm actually inside a police car with my dear friend, Russell Lewis AKA Russ.

"S-sorry, what was that again?" I ask, and Russ sighs and repeats himself, "I said today was the Delton's last day of trial. A buddy of mine said that the media was swarming outside the courtroom earlier, isn't that crazy?"

I take a deep breath and look out the window, "Yeah."

"Who would have thought their own family would do such things to them. Did you see Tobias Delton's back? When they showed it on the news, I felt chills down my spine. They said it was because he was whipped by wires! Actual fucking wires! Can you believe it?!"

"You're a good kid Tobias. You don't need your saint role to prove that you are. And if you're ashamed to show your pain to others, then come to me. I'll watch over you. And I will never judge your beautiful scars." I remember telling Tobias when I treated his wounds, and for the first time, he cried like a child who was in pain.

"Then there's Chance Delton. Holy shit that guy had it rough. If I was him I would have lost my sanity." Russ continues to say.

"The director brought me to a hotel and made me please seven other directors. I didn't resist because you wanted me to start strong with them right?" Chance once revealed the night after I killed Luis.

"And don't get me started with Catalina and Cyrus." Russ continues before looking at me. But when he noticed my blank expression, he immediately stops and says, "Shit, I'm sorry Elliot. I didn't mean to-"

"It's okay," I tell him as I look at the worried expression of his reflection on the window. "I just don't want to talk about that anymore."

Russ nods his head in understanding and continues driving in silence.

I never imagined being able to meet such strong people except for the Delton siblings. Tobias Delton was young, and he was forced to endure every painful thing at such a young age. Chance Delton was the strongest person I know. After going through so much, he's still able to smile and live on like that. Catalina Delton's the toughest one. Her loved ones were killed and she couldn't do anything. But she didn't want anyone else to suffer any longer. She did all she could to bring me to their mansion. If it weren't for her they'd still be stuck there. And then there's Cyrus Delton. Regardless of what others said about him, and regardless of what the family did to him, he saved the siblings from being imprisoned. They weren't really his siblings, but all he did and all he endured was for their sake. Catalina and the others couldn't ask for a better older brother.

What I went through seems less devastating now after finding out about that family.

"We're here," Russ tells me as he parks at the side of the road just meters away from the apartment building that I'm currently living in.

"Thanks, man," I say as I step out of the car. Russ pulls the window down and leans over the passenger's seat, "Hey, you sure you're okay? Want to head to Lincoln's and grab a drink?" he suddenly asks, making me chuckle because Lincoln now reminds me of Abraham, and I don't have fund memories with Abraham.

"I think I'll pass. Thank you though." I answer.

"Alright, just call me if you feel like it," Russ says before tilting his hat and driving away.

I take another deep breath and walk towards the apartment building. But when I'm about to approach the entrance, someone clears their throat, making me stop.

"Good evening...Vincent Carter." Someone calls out, making me widen my eyes from shock. My body stiffens, and my eyes felt like it was going to shed tears. I turn around and force a smile as I reply, "It's Elliot Huxley."

"I still think that name is ugly," he says, and a tear finally fell from my eyes.

"Aren't you going to greet me a happy birthday?"

I didn't answer and ran to him to give him a tight hug, "Happy birthday Tobias."

"You're quite touchy now are you?" He asks, but he smiles and hugs me back anyway.

"It's nice to see you too." He tells me after, and I broke from the hug and hold onto his shoulders so I could look at his face properly.

"It's only been two months but I feel like you've grown," I tell him, and Tobias rolls his eyes in annoyance. His reaction made me realize that it was really him.

"Stop acting like you don't watch the news. Our faces are basically everywhere at this point." He says, making me laugh and put my hand down. I actually don't watch the news for that exact reason, but there's no point in explaining that to him now.

"So how was the trial? Where are Catalina and the others? What are you doing here?" I ask, and Tobias looked confused because of the rapid questions that I was throwing at him.

"Catalina is fixing some papers with Chance and aunt Camilla. The company is officially closing so the two will also be meeting up with the employees tomorrow so they could thank them for standing as witnesses for us. But there's good news too. Mom apparently left money for us so we'll be moving to a new house and start again." Tobias tells me, and I couldn't be anymore happier than that.

"We're also receiving therapy. At first, I was against it but I guess it helps. The scars inside...does not hurt as much anymore." Tobias says, and his eyes start becoming teary now too. I smile and hug him again. I feel like I watched him grow for some reason and I couldn't help but feel proud.

"I haven't really said it but...thank you, Elliot. Thank you for saving our family." Tobias tells me, making me hug him even tighter. I didn't really do much, but I know why they keep thanking me like this. Any other agent could have just left them, or they could have sold their story and got money from it. But I didn't. And that was the biggest surprise that these siblings never expected.

"Now for my other question," I say as I let go of him again. "Why are you here?" I ask him, and Tobias wipes his tears and grins, "Someone asked me for a final favor."

"What?" I ask, and Tobias moves aside, revealing a gentleman that I thought I'll never be able to see again.

"I couldn't say no to a devil." Tobias says with a wink, and then he looks back at Cyrus and says, "I'll wait at the car. Don't make me wait too long, got it?"

Cyrus doesn't answer, so Tobias just sighs and looks back at me, "You know the police are still following us. Says it's for security reasons. I was used to being watched but this is way scarier." He says, making me laugh again. Tobias smiles and pats my shoulder before walking away.

When Tobias was gone, Cyrus walks towards me wearing casual clothes that I thought I was seeing a different person. When he was now a meter away from where I was standing, he stands straight and tells me, "It's nice to see you again."

I tilt my head to the side and stare at him like a confused pup. Is Cyrus Delton still acting like a gentleman towards me after what happened between us? Or is this a defense mechanism now?

"It's nice to see you too," I answer.

"Well, I didn't want to suddenly show up like this but..." Cyrus pauses before bowing in front of me like a gentleman that he was, "I'm sorry, and thank you. I am indebted to you."

"You don't have to do that," I tell him, but Cyrus continues to bow for a few more seconds before standing straight.

"It was never my intention to lie to you. I know you don't trust me anymore but I..." Cyrus stops from talking as I pull him close to me and press my lips on his. He was surprised at first, but he eventually kisses me back. This time, we weren't in a hurry. It was a relaxed kiss. We had all the time in the world now.

When we parted from the kiss, I look straight at Cyrus's eyes and say, "I believe you. Deep down I always believed in you haven't I?"

Cyrus doesn't say anything and starts tearing up, making me tear up again too. He grabs my cheeks and kisses me again, but this time the kiss was a lot more passionate.

Seriously...

Ever since I saw him, I already fell in too deep. There was no escaping it.

"I'm not a billionaire anymore. Would you still want me?" He asks, and I laugh and embrace him tightly.

"Even if you have nothing...I will always want you." I tell him as I bury my face on his cheek, feeling the warmth that I thought I'd never be able to feel again.

Hey Kris, did I make you happy when you were alive? Was I enough for you back then? Because it seems like you gave someone back to who is willing to walk through fire for me. Because you know what? I was definitely willing to walk through fire for you too.

"I love you too Cyrus," I tell him, and Cyrus embraces me tighter. When I let go of him, Cyrus grabs my hand and kisses it before saying; "We're having dinner tonight. It's to celebrate our last trial. Would you like to come?"

"Isn't it to celebrate Tobias's birthday?" I ask, and Cyrus shrugs his shoulders and intertwines our fingers together like a child. As we were walking to the car where Tobias was waiting, I look back at Cyrus and say, "Seriously, you should be nicer to him. He's a sweet kid."

"Hey, you don't know what I did for him. And aren't I taking good care of him already?" He asks, and I bump my shoulder with his and say, "Then let's take care of him together."

"What is he, our son?" He asks making me laugh again.

I had a crazy experience with that family, but I guess good things still came from it. I can't lie about that now, right?

But now that I think about it...

Who really killed Adam?

Well...

Maybe that's the only family secret that we'll never really find out.
