Arianna/Thea

I carefully balanced the weight of the bags in my hands as I made my way through the bustling streets of the market. There were ten bags in my hands, one bag a finger, they swung gently with each step I took. I navigated through the throngs of people, weaving gracefully between merchants and shoppers.

My fingers tightened around the handles of the bags, ensuring they remained secure. The weight of the contents pressed against my palms, a reminder of the treasures I had acquired during my visit to the market. The bags themselves were made of fine, durable fabric, adorned with intricate patterns and embroidery that mirrored the vibrant energy of the marketplace.

As I moved through the winding streets, the sound of my footsteps mingled with the distant chatter of the crowd.

The clamor of the market faded into the distance as my senses sharpened, my instincts on high alert.

I can feel someone following me.

Who could it be? With the excuse of buying something, I took a careful look around my surroundings.

Her eyes darted from one shadowed corner to another, searching for any sign of the elusive figure behind her.

But there was no one. I might be imagining it.

As I walked, a woman with a bright smile and a young child approached her, offering a tray filled with colorful sweets.

"Please try these, they are made with finest flour, and I am sure you will love it."

With my hands full I will not be able to carry them. "i can't buy them as I have no way of carrying them. But I can give you money for the sweets. They look delicious."

I offered it to the lady.

"I must decline, kind young lady. You are indeed very generous but I cannot accept the money I didn't earn." the lady said, making me smile at her.

I was about to leave when I saw him. It was his black cloak that alerted me of his presence.

"Wait here for a moment, will you?" I asked and called him.

"Hey!" I called. He stopped as soon as he heard me.

He turned to me, his eyes narrowing.

"Come here" I shouted, he hesitated, looking to his left and right. Not knowing what to do.

"I need your help," I said to him, sighing, he walked towards me.

As he neared I saw that his hair was not white but black. But I knew it was him.

His face was kind of blurry as if he was using an enchantment to hide his features.

then I realized that he must have been on a mission.

It must be the reason he was using enchantment to mask his appearance.

I wonder who he was kidnapping now?

"What do you want from me?" he asked.

"You are going to the palace, right? help me carry these sweets," I said,

"Why should i help you? did you not say that you can handle anything?" he asked in anger.

"Are you going to starve this lady and her child because you don't want to help me?" i asked him. "My hands are full. as you can clearly see."

"Why did you buy so many things?" he asked frowning.

ignoring him I turned to the lady "I will buy everything please."

The lady looked so happy, as she handed the sweets to him.

I realized that I don't know his name.

"Here," I took a gold coin out of my wristband and handed it to her. "Keep the change, I will buy something from you next time."

i said to her as we walked together back to the palace. me with my bags and him with a tray filled with sweets.

He was behaving like I don't exist by not looking at me.

"Where did you get the money to get all of those items?" he asked.

"I robbed the thug this morning," i replied, truthfully testing if he would believe me.

He turned to me, his eyes narrowing on me. then his eyes slid the length of me. taking in my small form.

Shaking his head, he turned away.

I scoffed in anger.

How dare he underestimate me?

"Are you not a witch why didn't you use your magic to carry these things," he asked this time suspicion was thick in his voice.

"I have been out here since the morning, I am exhausted, I don't want to waste my magic."

I hope he believes this.
