Ring-ring! Randy almost dropped his phone before picking it up. "Hey, B."

"Were you talking to En just now?" she asked.

"Yeah. Josie told him his lunch was ready."

"He was tucking into it, too. What a relief."

"He's not been eating well?"

Betty sighed. "If we weren't KKs, I'd worry he was sick."

"You guys can't give him milkshakes or smoothies or something?"

"You know how he is with food."

"Oh, yeah. En said he thinks I need to sign something."

"It's for Hermano Hiko. I think he's going to say you went on a sabbatical, but I'm not sure."

"Alright. I'll get that signed."

"Ame should be by soon to get it and get you some money."

"Alright."

"Love you, Randy."

"I love you, too, sugar plum."

"Promise me that you'll take care."

Betty then hung up.

Randy dug the paper out from under his clothes.
