"Come on, let's walk faster." I said and held her hands.
"Too late, kiddo." A man in a black mask appeared in front of us. How I wish they were just Johnny, but I was wrong, worse than Johnny.
"Ahhh!" Val shouted. I looked at her and saw that one of the men was holding her.
"Let her go." I gritted here seriously. I don't want to use the gem, maybe Val will freak out. But this is the only way Val and I can escape.
"Give me the gem." he said and pointed at one of the weapons he was holding.
Did Daddy's enemies send them too? Are they on the same side? Or someone else is looking for us.
"I have a brain, so I'm not just giving it to you." I told him seriously. It's ours! Why are they trying to take from us!
"I talked to you properly, child. If I'm yours, just give it to me, so it's easy and we won't hurt you." said one of his companions.
"Val, close your eyes." I turned at her.
"What? Why?" She asked in surprise.
"Just.. Close it, don't peek, don't open your eyes until I say so." I told her seriously. I saw Val close her eyes so I guess I can use that.
I said to myself, I will never use it again but no, it's really necessary. Our lives and the green gem depend on it.
I spread my both arms wider and closed my eyes. I am most worried about what Daddy taught me before I quit.
Think broadly, Travis.
"What are you doing? Praying?" one of the boys said with a laugh.
"You should." I said seriously and opened my eyes. All I can see is the green vision thing.
"I'm out." That one man who holds Val walked away swiftly.
"Give me the gem." That man wearing a black mask said.
"What if I don't want to." I said seriously while I floated him.
"L-Let me go." He struggled while on top. I hung it on the branch of the tallest tree. How you get down is up to you.
The other companions were gone so I forced my eyes to return to normal, I noticed that Val was still closed and just standing on the side.
"You can open your eyes." I said to her. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Let's go." I said to Val and grabbed her right hand and ran out of the crowded place here.
"Did you see anything?" I asked Val as we walked home.
"What?" She wondered. It looks like she didn't see anything earlier, that's a good thing because this is what we'll keep the most.
"I'm good here," She said when we stopped at a corner.
"Are you sure? It's already night time." I asked her. I sounded like a concerned person, well, I'm concerned.
"You should go home, I'm good thank you for today." She said. I nodded and waved my hands.
"Why are you here just now, Travis? They've been looking for you especially Daddy." Train, the oldest of the three of us, greeted me.
"I'm not a kid anymore, we just ate outside with my friend." I told h while taking off my shoes.
"At this time?" He asked me with raised eyebrows.
"Yes, the conversation just got too long." I said and went upstairs.
"Show yourself to Mama in their room, so they know you're home." She said before he went straight to the door.
"You? Where are you going at this hour?" I'll come back to this question.
"None of your business, go upstairs." He said and waved at me.
I knocked before entering. Daddy was still sitting in his office chair while Mom was already in bed
"Where have you been? I thought how have you been, we saw Calista in the garden earlier, you weren't with her?" Mom asked one after another.
"Mom, sometimes there are days when I'm not with Calista every day, okay? Nothing bad happened tpday so I'm okay." I'll sneak in here. Should I tell them? Or not at all? Maybe it needs to be said, but I haven't said it yet, because maybe if I say it, they won't let me go out.
I just washed myself for a while before lying on the bed. There is no school tomorrow, Sunday tomorrow is still our rest day.
When I woke up, Mom and our other maids were already preparing to eat. This is how we are every Sunday, the five of us will eat together at the table, without thinking about other work or anything.
I remembered Val, she is not with anyone today, maybe I can invite her to the house.
"Mom, can I invite my friend?" I asked Mom while she's cooking.
"Friend?" She asked curiously.
"Yes, Mom." I answered.
"You know we don't just get invited by anyone here at home, right?" Daddy's groin.
"I know that, but she's not that someone else. She can be trusted, besides, the first day she saw Calista was surprising." I said that made them surprised too.
"Maybe we're the same type? Are you sure about that friend of yours, son?" Mom asked worriedly.
"Make sure our family doesn't get hurt." Train seriously promised me while still looking at his laptop.
"What did I say about works, huh? Train?" Mom raised an eyebrow at Train. I told you, no works during Sunday.
